Okay, I saw this on the news yesterday. I swear it does say "Islam is the Light". I just want to know if anyone else has seen it, and what's your interpretation of it?

Oh, and I know the link's a little wierd. I couldn't find this video on youtube, so I found an enbed code for it on another site. The enbedding didn't work, but the link does.

Lol, weird... I don't know why people are freaking out so much though. Did the company that made the dolls have anything to say?

Haven't found anything yet, but I'm working on it. I just think it's weird, and honestly a little funny, that this doll says somethin basically completely out of context of what you expect it to say.

Ok, waiting for updates, I really wanna hear what they say, I want to say they didn't do this on purpose.

That's pretty creepy. I hate dolls.

Their blank, cheery stares. The way they try to convert their owners to Islam. Not too fond of the price tags that come with some of 'em either. Gotta pay a little extra if you want one that just says "mommy" or "I love you." That's life.

But yeah, that's crazy.

It's not a glitch, it would have to be programmed to say those words. Nevertheless, it is rather creepy, dolls like that always freak me out anyway but if we have one now promoting religion to children...how fun 8D

It could be considered as a manufacturing glitch. Some employee in charge of the recordings gets a bit bored, and decides to have a little fun, and voila. I bet it's not the only talking doll out there that doesn't say what it's supposed to. :monster:

I remember way-back-when, many years ago, there was this thing about a Teletubbie doll that swore or said something about being gay, or something like that. So, it's not really the first time something like this has happened, though I still find it amusing.

Plus, "Islam is the light" isn't so bad, especially if you're from an Islamic family :gasp:

Wow! Is that what it is supposed to say? Or is it just because one person heard it, and now we all hear it in that way?

Wow, thats really weird. Almost too coincidental to be a gift since the doll is supposed to giggle and laugh. That didn't sound like any giggling or laughing to me.

Is that what it is supposed to say? Or is it just because one person heard it, and now we all hear it in that way?

I played it for everyone in my house without telling them anything to see what they think it says, and they all said it sounds like "Islam is the light".

I'm trying to figure out what it else it could possibly say, assuming that 'Islam is the Light' isn't a viable option.

...spam delight?
...is ham delight?

Still nothing.

but anyways, and this goes to Mugen's first post, you have to be in America to understand it. People here are incredibly sensitive to things out of the norm or might 'cause even a tiny bit of tension in regular society.
It's outrageous that a doll that's marketed to Christians, Jews, and all the other religions in America is spouting out that 'Islam is the Light' or 'the way to go (taken in context)'. Why? People are gonna be pissed, that's why, and people here don't like pissing other people off, except apparently the company. >.>

I'm surprised a fatwa hasn't been placed on the company. As there always seems to be a huge uproar from muslims when things like this happen. eg Danish cartoons, and that bear.
It's just a bear for children, and shouldn't upset anyone, obviously children aren't going to be indoctrinated into any particular faith due to a talking doll.

I'm not sure. I showed people and none of them could make it out first time round. I did, but that was because I was looking for it.

They're just random goo-goo noises that sound like "Iglam is the Lighhk".. The creators probably should have payed more attention for what that sounded like though.

It does sound a lot like "Islam is the light" though.

It's hard to make out what it's saying and if I didn't know what to look for I wouldn't have noticed it and probably would have dismissed it as random goo-goo noises as Argor251 said.

I think it is a little far to say it is spouting hate though, if it said 'Jesus is our savior' I doubt there would be this much uproar.

Toys are never in the news anymore and now they are. Marketing scheme at its worst.

Indeed, dolls are creepy full stop. But I think its one of those random things that people believe they can hear and if they tell enough people, thats what people are going to expect to hear. I dunno lol. But still, creepy.

woah the company probbly knows about it
why else would they even send a doll into stores without knowing somehting like that?

It's quite possible that the company producing the doll is in a place where they don't speak English. There are plenty of examples where people have made huge mistakes when introducing their product into a foreign market.
