Here's another things I've done so far:

the Riku at the top and the Dark cloud at the bottom both look great and i love them but the two in the middle need to be improved
2 needs Sora to be made skinnier and 3 needs to be deleted from our memories as the character in it sucks

I don't believe that lightning sucks since we didn't play FFXIII yet you know, but I know that they have to improve.

Just so ya know, tags dont always need text. text can really make or break a tag. For this one in particular, I'd hunt down a render from PRV3, resize it to suit, do a little smudging around sora and kairi, and use some gradient maps.

It's not pretty good, I made others but I'm saving them for the next SOTW that have the same theme

make sure they're not more than a week old, or they'll be null as entries. Though, if you start working on them again and add something to them, they'll be perfectly fine to enter as long as it wasnt submitted in a previous sotw no matter how old it is.

Looks like you're finally getting down some basic stuff to bring you closer to a novice level.

To quote this section's guidelines first paragraph on criticism....

First of all, look for what is bad, or what you didn't like. Then, put them in the post, but just don't say something "sucks". Say what is wrong, like the colours in a background, how bright things are, etc, and if possible, how to correct those problems.

Your criticism is not detailed enough, and will ultimately lead to warnings if you continue. All the user is gaining from your criticism is your opinion on the development of their signatures that's quite lacking in detail and nothing else. That is not going to help them improve.

This is probably the best thing you've fired out of photoshop so far, I think. It'd look a little better without the noise in the bg behind his jacket.

You're definitely getting better alright. The very last two sigs proves that. The only problem I see with the Sora sig is that there's not enough detailed background and too much white lighting going on across the tag. It loses focus on Sora himself.

The Sephiroth sig is much better though. Again, it's simple but I quite like it, especially the color theme. Not too much going on in the background, which is just fine to me. The text is a no-no though. =/ I finally realized that placing text in the very corner doesn't look too appealing.

I think this is your best one and most improved.I really like it.

Very nice,one of the things that I like about your artwork that not much people do is that the texture and the brushes you use and blending them in.Oh and I like the placement you did on your newest signature it's very nice. Btw,do you use GIMP?

No, not really just brushes and Patterns in CS3 I don't use G.I.M.P also thanks ^^

This one's probably the best out of the bunch. The focal point is fairly good, and you used the common dark---light---dark lighting. But the tag generally lacks depth, and perhaps is a little too bright in the middle, especially since the only colors that are coinciding with your stock are the colors on the edges.

I like this tag. But the text is poor. It's too far from the focal point, and has all that annoying fancy stuff that just stands out and takes the beauty away from the tag. Maybe you should read up on some typography tutorials. There is also not much lighting sense in this tag; for instance, you have light pointing in a direction with shadows (the right side of the tag). Only direct lighting towards the non-shadowed/brightest parts of the tag.

Also, GIMP is a program. And one more thing, you don't always have to use planetrenders.com You can cut out a lot of stocks out yourself. Since the select tool is inefficient, and the pentool is just annoying (imho XD) you can zoom in and use a hard paint brush to cut out the stock. When you're done with that, just use the Magic Eraser Tool, and then proceed to resize your stock to fit the canvas.

Using the method I had said, it only takes me around 10 minutes to cut out a stock. As I made more and more sigs, Planet Renders became a bit insufficient for me (meaning they don't have many stocks on each subject, so I had to start cutting them out myself and begun to use tools to get around my incompetence with the pen tool). I've just been noticing that you tend to use the same stock in so many pieces of work.
