Was wondering if anyone else on here enjoys a good magazine - I certainly do. I mostly read fashion/women's magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, & Company. I do like buying photography magazines every once in a while, as well as maybe an Xbox mag or two. :)

You?

There are a lot of funky magazines available online no one has heard of, before. :ohshit:

I like to try to read the most incomprehensible and alien looking titles I can find... but, mostly, I just look at the pretty pictures.

From, things I hoard, pointlessly....

I tend to read BBC History and will occasionally dip into Edge or Games TM if Chris buys those.

I enjoy the History magazine because of how history links to Literature! The magazine is partly written opinion, partly informative. I tend to focus on the informative bits. :lew: The reviews of history books are also rather intriguing and I'm always on the lookout for a book I could buy - one that will develop my knowledge and could inspire a written piece! :wacky:

If I can find one, I would flick through Private Eye, because politics deserves to be made a big satire of, and Private Eye would be my go-to place for that kind of thing if I don't have the internet on me at the moment. Then there's the occasional flick-through of New Statesman, which is a largely liberal and centre-left publication as opposed to The Spectator which seems to enjoy lauding Thatcher all the time. Like Lirael, I also enjoy flicking through the History magazine if any particular historical periods covered interest me. Oddly enough, I have bought a couple of Sky at Night magazines in the past when I was going through this little obsession with astronomy.

More often however, I may peek into one or two gaming magazines - mainly Edge and Games TM, because they're like the broadsheets of gaming magazines while ones like GamesMaster read like gaming tabloids. xD If it's not about gaming, there's Sci-Fi Now and T3 for miscellaneous bits of technology and cinema, as well as NEO magazine for anime and manga.

I have to admit that I'm awful when it comes to magazines.

I only tend to look through magazines when in staff rooms / other rooms when there are no members of public (typically the History magazines, though I do not often get around to doing this), or when waiting for the dentist.

For the latter, it typically tends to be the National Geographic. I do like those a lot, and I do own a couple of them. If I ever get more money then that would probably be something I'd consider subscribing to, amongst much else.

I currently do not buy magazines, nor do I have any on order or anything. I used to (when I was a young teenager) get the Playstation Magazine, but that was honestly only for the demos. Once the PS2 magazines came out the concept of the demo disc was effectively killed off and replaced with DVDs of trailers. That effectively killed off my interest in the Playstation Magazine too.

This is gonna be obvious to most of you, but I very much enjoy reading through WWE Magazine. We have over 100 different magazines saved. We like to collect them and read them a lot. These are special to me because the first issue we ever bought was on my birthday in 2005. It had Triple H on the cover. :) I also enjoy reading Pro Wrestling Illustrated. I went to those as an alternative to WWE Magazine in 2007. Both are very good. PWI is more for those who want to be "in the know". Backstage in the wrestling world. While WWE Magazine is more of a fun loving kayfabe world. Both have their own special qualities.

I had all the WWE magazines from 1994-1996 in great condition saved until fairly recently. We were moving house and I was subpoena'd into throwing a lot of things like that out. Bret Hart used to have a silly column in the back where he'd answer kid's emails, often in character.

Anyways, I don't get magazines as regularly as I used to. I always get the yearly season preview edition of FourFourTwo magazine, but I used to get those every month. I used to get New Scientist magazine, but as that became a big advertisement rag (literally from the middle page onward was all job advertisements), I started getting Scientific American instead.
