Argor’s Art Competition For Awful Artists 2012.


This is an art competition open to everyone, regardless of ability. Not renowned for art? Not an issue. Good at art, but just want to doodle something humorous? That’s good too.

In this game of doodles I accept any drawings created in simple programs (such as Paint). Any fancy GFX work will be disqualified.

The theme of this competition will be ‘Alternate Universe’. What would our planet look like if something different had happened at any given time? You are free to creatively reinterpret either something about our planet / history, etc, or even FFF itself.

The choice is open to you all.

Remember, the art is not meant to be good at all. In fact, it needs to be darn awful. Draw from your hand and your heart, and less so with the aid of judgement from your eyes.

All entries should be PMed to me, Gingerbread Man, and I ask that you write your name at the bottom of the piece that you submit. I shall edit this out before posting it up for voting. This voting will commence on June 5th.

Theme: Alternate Universe.
Rules: Drawings on any simple art programs.
Due Date: 5[SUP]th[/SUP] June 2012.
Send to: Gingerbread Man.



1[SUP]st[/SUP] place – 500 points.
2[SUP]nd[/SUP] place – 300 points.
3[SUP]rd[/SUP] place – 100 points.

If I draw in GIMP is that okay? (and no there's nothing fancy about GIMP art, believe me :wacky: )
 
GIMP is fine.

I only listed Paint as it is the only one I really know. I'm a noob with that sort of thing, and I'd forgotten about GIMP.
 
it is actually possible to illustrate images that are not stickmen in MSpaint.


just to clarify, although I am sure that this was meant for stickmen that have fire for hair :elmo:

Being possible is one thing but drawing somethign like that is a whole other fucking effort
 
Yeah, I just meant doodles or simple drawings. Or maybe complex drawings, done simply, but rubbish all the same.

A complicated and well done drawing like that above car, while awesome, would probably not win this particular competition.

It is also possible to draw simple drawings on Photoshop and Paintshop, etc, but I felt it simpler to use Paint as an example program because I didn't want fancy GFX entering this competition. I wasn't as strict on the program as I was on the quality of the art. It cannot be too good.
 
As other competitions are extending, I'll also extend this one until 9th June.

I've had three entries so far, but I know that there were more people interested so I'll leave it open until then in case they remain interested enough to enter.

Just draw a scene as you would for anything from our universe, but have it so that it is an alternate universe.
For example:
Key figures in history were in this universe a woman.
We never left the ocean / we returned to the ocean.
Dinosaurs were never extinct.
The moon doesn't exist / we have two moons.

Just ideas off the top of my head. Though funny drawings are desirable. I'm just illustrating how it could be done.
Or it could be anything forum related too.
 
I'm so up for drawing badly on purpose, consider me a late participant, Argor. MS Paint here I come. Lolz.
