I may have misinterprted what Garland said, especially as I've never picked up on it before, but when Zidane meets him in Pandemonium, he mentions Kujas soul not being eternal, then some other waffle about Zidane eventually surpassing him in strength and wotnot, I can't remember now, Ive slept since then, but the way the conversation unfolded, it just made me think, is Zidane essentially made to be immortal then...?

Edit* N00B MISTAKE! Wrong forum haha, can someone shift this over to FFIX please :8F:

I dont think so.. I think he was only referring to Strength and possible larger life longevity. I am almost certain that he is not immortal.

I wonder if he can choose when to stop maybe? Dunno why it got me thinking, ive never picked up on it before, and now Im wondering if he ages naturally or anything or if he stops when he 'peaks' I know he wasnt born, as hes supposed to be 16/17,. but that Mikoto says he was created about 11 years ago i think...? argh

*Agrees with Omega* - Zidane is certainly not meant to be immortal...even though he survived the whole You're Not Alone moment. I think that was because of the Power of Friendship mixed with a little of the Power of Love though : D

Nah he cant be, if he were he wouldnt had his ass kicked by Beatrix. If it werent for Zidane friends he would have gone nutcase (Kefka case or Seymour case).

Maybe the thing is that Kuja life span is short and zidane is able to live as long as a human can.

Zidane is definitely not immortal. I am also fairly certain that he ages, and ages like a normal person. If you actually spoke to one of the Genomes when you visit Terra, you would have spoken to someone that said something about having to exercise to keep the body in shape - or something to that effect. Not the strongest link, but I believe this does raise the possibility that the Genome body is actually similar to that of a normal person, and without another alternative, I suppose this made the most sense to me.

And I believe Garland made Mikoto as a replacement for Zidane... Which by extension could mean that Zidane may ultimately die
as did Kuja in the final part of FFIX
.

I think Kuja was essentially the prototype to Zidane, so he has a shorter life span because he's not the better model basically. Garland didn't have any big plans for him like he did for Zidane, so didn't give him as much time. I don't think that means Zidane is immortal, he has a normal life span because he's the real thing, not an early model like Kuja.

Yeah I really just think Zidane has a normal "human" lifespan, it's just that Kuja was only meant to live for about 24 years apparently. Considering that Zidane was also created as a baby and grew up like a human, whereas Kuja was created as he was and did not mature naturally.
