Your Perfect Party

I don't know if I'd call it my "perfect" party, but the one that worked the best for me was Squall, Zell, and Rinoa. I wasn't too found of any of the characters in the game aside from Zell really, but I found this aprty to be one that best suited my style of play.

Sure Squall's the main character so I usually let him in there. Zell was all about throwing the punches, physical poundings, and humor. Rinoa was a semi-love interest IMO in the game, so I threw her in there as well and her fighting wasn't all that bad. I had their relationships with the GF pretty high so I didn't wanna change it up and throw them on my other, less-used, characters.

Squall, Rinoa and Quistis were quite good for me (and a constant use of GF). I rarely used Irvivine, Zell or Selphie, considering them week, probably cause I trained them less than the others. It all depends on preferences, that make you concentrate your training efforts on some characters instead of others, as anyone of them could suite the team.

options were quite balanced, letting you choose between 3 male and 3 female characters. I noticed, but it could be my idea, that next series are closer and closer to feminine tastes, aren`t they?

Squall, Rinoa and Irvine (Quistis maybe if she has all of her limits) I try and keep them squall is obviously the power house, Rinoa the Mage/healing mage and Irvine the second strength and item user.

I might have Quistis or Selphie if Rinoa is out, but its a big maybe.

Squall, Quisty, and Rinoa.

Honestly other than limit breaks, it's just for the looks. Sometimes I'd swap Selphie in when I had to. I mainly use my favorite characters in game so there's no strategy involved. :wacky:

From a strategic stand-point, there's no reason not to always run Squall, Zell, and Irvine because each of their limit breaks are dumb strong. And since magic is useless in this game for attacking (with the exception of Angel Wing meteor Rinoa), They have absolutely no problems just wrecking things with normal attacks until they can use their limit breaks for the instant win. Plus it helps that Squall always has 255% accuracy as a little side bonus.

Mine's based on my favourite characters so Squall (because he has to be in there) Selphie - my favourite character in the game and I like her limit break and Rinoa, simply because she's my second favourite character and I really like her limit break when she becomes a sorceress :)

Squall, Zell and Irvine seem most efficient in annihilating things (unless you like wading through the slot for The End with Selphie). Especially Zell, the combo cycling in limits makes it kind of ridiculous to even keep him in the party for anything challenging.

Last time I played I just played Selphie, Quistis and Squall. Mainly because I underplayed Selphie all the times I played, and Quistis is overall a very versatile with her limits

Squall, Zell, and Rinoa my best of the best of my party line up. If you are hardcore grinding levels in the isles your limit breaks are your best friend :)

My favourite party was always Squall, Rinoa and Selphie.

Squall: Duh, you couldn't exactly take him out of the party until right at the end when Ultimecia randomly chooses her opponents.

Rinoa: Mostly a matter of preference, but if she got her limit break and used Invincible Moon this was highly advantageous, especially against Ultimecia and other high-level bosses.

Selphie: I could not survive without her limit break. When you use Aura on her so she can use her limit break more often, you have Full Cure available practically any time you want. So handy when fighting tough bosses/monsters. Yes, Selphie's otherwise normal attacks were never very powerful, but this handy limit break made up for this.

I tended to rotate my party a lot, keeping them all roughly around the same level, though I did like to include Selphie a lot, even though she wasn't very strong at all bar for her limit.

I use to use Squall (well you have to lol), Selphie and Quistis most of the time but I now use Squall, Irvine and Zell. Just bet Omega Weapon (no invulnerability) with those three on a no level game!

I usually use Rinoa, Zell and Squall [duh]. I've just grown attached to them, so the other three are under-levelled.

I don't have a 'perfect' party. I rotate them a lot but when I'm fighting Ultima and Omega Weapons and other such last bosses I tend to stick with Squall, Irvine and Quistis. However I've gotten the same results with just about any combo so...it's really not an issue for me. :p

I use mostly Squall, Rinoa and Irvine, because of their limit breaks. Squall's Renzokuken is great, even more if coupled with Lionheart; Rinoa's Angel Wing is very handy if you keep an arsenal of mighty and powerful magic on her list; Irvine's Shot, although expensive, is quite useful if you use the spare Pulse Ammo that remained after you get the Lionheart gunblade.

when I was playing on playstation, my team was always: Squall/Quistis/Selphie I don't really know why but now I play on PC and I have to tell I changed Selphie to Rinoa....

On ps I used Zell too and he was few levels behind my mains but on PC I always mess up his Limits...so I'm not using him....

However in Ultimecia Castle, I use mostly Quistis/Rinoa/Selphie teamxD I'm not really into Squall, can't use Zell on pc and Irvine....I never liked him....

but I have to admit, against Omega Weapon an all female team is a double edged sword... Quistis and Rinoa are okay, as their limits spam the enemy but Selphie...well if I use Full-Cure then she has nothing to do...after using Mighty Guard, her Wall gets useless...Rapture useless and The End is just sooo cheap...

Squall, Quistis and Irvine.

I have them because unlike Selphie and Rinoa
they never get kidnapped or randomly drop out
I have Quistis because of her blue magic mostly mighty guard. Irvine + Exeter + Pulse Ammo = The end of reality. You just fire lasers out of your gun into the enemys face and act like it was nothing, there's no way you can say that Irvines limit breaks don't kick ass.

Squall, Zell and Rinoa.

Rinoa I mainly just junction GFs too and boost her up with tons of good abilities like Auto-Haste and support stuff.

Squall I use for his limit break, LionHeart... which is devestating.

And Zell I also use his limit break, which is almost unbeatable, duel. Now you may be thinking "what, unbeatable?"

Yes, it's even better than LionHeart. It takes skill though... cast Meltdown on any enemy, junction up the 100x the best strength boosting magic you can find and do a combo of Punch Rush and Heel Drop. If you keep your fingers on the Up+Down and Left+Right buttons you can deliver roughly 1300 damage per attack use to any enemy. And I usually end up getting 10 seconds when I use duel, and I usually pull off an attack every .15th of a second (it takes a while to get that good. So that's about 65/66 attacks... multiply that by 1300 and that's around 85,000 damage per limit break... which can pretty much kill ever single thing in the game under a dozen turns.

As for me...

I tend to use whoever has the highest levels out of the entire group, with the exception of always using Squall and Rinoa, if I can, and lately(I'm currently playing it over again), I've been using Squall, Rinoa and Quistis. If you ask me, it's kind of hard to keep each character at the same level, because you end up getting separated from half of the other members too much at the beginning of the game, and after Squall is like, 10-20 levels higher than most of the other characters, it's such a hassle trying to level them up to match him, seeing as how even if you make one of the characters in the party do nothing during a fight, they still gain EXP...

I really liked Zell when I was a kid, but now he's kind of lame, Irvine is just a pretty boy/pansy, yet funny, lol. Selphie is cool an all, but weak. But, if I had to choose, my ideal party would have to be either, Squall-Rinoa-Quistis or Squall-Rinoa-Zell.
