XBOX720, PS4 or WiiU?

Shace they're concepts.
Mal The WiiU will fully support HD..as Ryan said it will be 1080i/p thats immense imo. Most games are 720p....

Reason I posted this is because Microsoft might plan to make a new xbox soon. Definitely before ps4. That would be like in 2013. Or xbox should aquire more exclusive ip's. I get the feeling the year 2012 will not be that great for Microsoft. I might be wrong though.

to be honest I don't see sony/microsoft releasing a new console anytime in the next few years, sony are working on vita lauch right now and microsoft are focusing on the tablet market with windows 8, but if I was going to pick I would go for XBOX 720 just because I had my xbox for 2 years next week and I never had a problem on it, also tbh the online experience much better on xbox and now xbox has all the tv options coming my xbox will become my tv box replacing sky anyday :P

I hope those concepts are fake because I don't want a semi-portable console. I want to be able to hook it up to my big screen and surround sound. The Wii-U is completely beyond my interest for that one reason. I like to play consoles on my TV. Making separate portable consoles like the PS Vita is okay, but I'm not a big fan of portable systems. I'm good with my PSP 2000 and DS Lite :P

Anyway, I would want a PS4 because I'm sure Sony will be able to impress with their far more reliable and state of the art technology, as usual. Plus, if Final Fantasy doesn't sell out to the Xbox, I can still get those exclusives along with many others! :D

All of those concepts are fan-made things, literally none of those have been released by the respective companies. Before anyone tries to be smart, the WiiU is not a concept, that's the actual console

This is a stupid thing to be talking about

Is the term CONCEPT so hard to understand? I thought it was already clear the term concept is unofficial by default. Or should I have mentioned they were fanmade?

I might be confused about the word concept then. Notice the xbox concepts have several models.

Next time I will put FAN MADE next to it.

The WiiU part is real and thus why I havent put the word concept there.

Rumour: Next Xbox, PlayStation 4 to get E3 unveils

Sony and Microsoft are set to spoil Wii U’s coming out party at E3 by unveiling PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox in Los Angeles in June, MCV is reporting this morning.
ps4.jpg

The unveils will come as Nintendo prepares to confirm full details of Wii U’s software lineup, as well as launch details following its announcement last year.
Speculation on an E3 reveal for the new Xbox has been going on since last year, but chatter on PlayStation 4 has remained very much under the radar besides a Develop report mentioning last year several first-party Sony studios had already gotten hold of a dev kit for the next-gen hardware.
Microsoft is expected to talk about the new hardware in some form at CES next week as part of the company’s final keynote at the event in Vegas, according to one report.
However, any new Xbox is not expected until next year at least.
This week, a USPTO-granted patent from Microsoft suggested some sort of PVR functionality for the hardware.
E3 2012 takes place from June 5-7.

Well yes you are wrong about the word concept, many car companies have concept cars that they never make for example. A few people seemed to have the idea that these were released by the companies themselves, so I thought I'd clear that up

Not to mention I have no idea why you would post fan made ones, I could make one shaped like a small cow strapped to a dildo, and it would be just as authentic as the ones you posted

I am not excited about the next-gen yet, I think this generation still has plenty to offer and I would not like to see it cut short

Rumour – Next Xbox has six times the power of Xbox 360

As if one Xbox 720 tech rumour weren’t enough for the day, here’s another.

20120125radeonhd6000.jpg

In reaction to an earlier report that the next Microsoft console is in development, IGN cited anonymous sources “close to the project” for word that components will go into mass production this year.
The source agreed the core will be based on an AMD GPU, but nominated the 6000 series – specifically, the Radeon HD 6670 – and not Southern Islands 7000 series.
“In real terms, the Xbox 720′s raw graphics processing power is expected to be six times that of the Xbox 360 and will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Wii U,” the site reports.
Thanks, Engadget.

Six times the power of Xbox 360.

IGN-NXTBox-400x225.jpg

The rumors continue. The next Xbox will hit shelves in late October or early November next year with six times the processing power of Xbox 360, if IGN sources “close to the project” are to be believed.
The new console will feature an AMD 6000 series GPU akin to the Radeon HD 6670, with DirectX11, multidisplay output, 3D, and 1080p HD output. The GPU alone costs $79.99.
The console is said to feature performance 20 percent greater than that of Nintendo’s Wii U.
Developers will likely receive development kits based on the system’s final specifications in August.
As always, take this all with a grain of salt. But the timing sounds about right, when lined up against past rumors.

Rumor: Next Xbox conatins Blu-ray, anti-used system

An industry source has told Kotaku that Microsoft’s next Xbox will contain Blu-ray as its disc technology, and that it’ll introduce Kinect 2; and that it’s to contain some kidn of anti-used game technology.

RUMOURS ARE POURING IN!!!

For me I'll get the WiiU because it now supports 1080p, I hope there's more third party support and that there's a fucking F-Zero game released on the WiiU.

I wouldn't go for the other consoles simply because I predict that the library of games for both the Xbox720 and the PS4 would be littered with HUGE amounts of FPS games and plenty of shitty fighting games. Sure I like FPS games but there's so much its kind of annoying. :damon:

Anti-used game technology? Well, that's GAME and Gamestation fucked then, because when I visit them, they stock predominantly used copies of games on their shelves. And you can forget trading in games if that were to happen.

Actually, I can see them do that, considering the fact Microsoft and the like get nothing from pre-owned sales, and with the beefy price of new games in this current climate, the used games market has been thriving. This wouldn't be so much of an issue for me, someone who rarely ever buys games at launch and waits a while for them to halve in price first. There are people however, who don't think £45 for a certain new game is worth the price. They tend to dip into the used game sections, which ironically from what I've seen in GAME, are hardly any cheaper than new copies.

and that it’s to contain some kidn of anti-used game technology.

WHAT, no Pre-Owned Games, like what Fleur said, that Game and Gamestation XD but like almost all my games are pre-owned :hmph: only like 3-4 of my like 20 games are new, the rest i got preowned mostly from CEX, that plain sucks :hmph:

I'll personally get the Wii U for certain, because I loves me some Nintendo games (especially Zelda). While they may be a bit simple, they always deliver in being innovative and ahead of their time in comparison with the other consoles. How many times have we seen Sony and Microsoft mimic things that Nintendo did, or made popular, first?

Eventually I'll get the PS4 too, if the past consoles are anything to go by. I've always liked the hardware designs of the past Sony consoles, along with the operating systems.

As you can see, I'm definitely a nostalgic buyer :)

I would put money on that Microsoft won't introduce an "anti-used" feature into their system, all that will happen is the backlash that Sony suffered with they removed "other OS", it'll just be hacked and removed. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Blu-Ray, doesn't really surprise me, the Xbox 360 has been criticized multiple times over for limiting games due to storage space - even if they don't use blu-ray they'll just develop their own storage space or significantly upgrade.

Six times the power, again unsurprising. Technology upgrades yearly which is why the PC will always look and run better when maxed, not even maxed if the specs are good enough. In terms of hardware the 360 and PS3 are ancient really.

i don't see any way that they could implement an anti pre-owned system, unless all games had to be registered to an individual machine, like with a lot of pc software. i just don't see that happening though, because the fans would go on a rampage.
i don't see the advantage of it either, from microsoft's point of view. they'll have already made their bit of money from the original sale of the game. any furter sales after that are up to the owner, not the developer.

Ok so discs arent always the best. Scratches etc. What if the next generation of consoles will have cartridges again lol.

That would be funny. :hmmm:
Each cartridge could hold like 80 gb -__-

Anyways they will stick to discs. PS4 should have way more RAM when it comes out.
Many rumours floods the internet.

Word is AMD will take on the processor and not CELL. Hopefully more RAM etc.

More visuals with PS4 and Xbox 720 qualities

In the latest issues of Xbox World and PSM3 there are some great images of what will be expected as far as visual quality is concerned on the next generation Xbox 720 and PS4 consoles, and these pictures are a great insight into the future of the gaming world and things to come.
The stunning images also pictured on the CVG website show the capabilities of the new consoles and both magazines are documenting this in their new issues, everything from lighting, landscapes, scale procedural generation and artificial intelligence are mentioned along with what they are claiming as six times the power. Codemasters’ lead artist Mike Smith says that even though there is a way to go before they manage to replicate the amount of effort that goes into lighting at companies like Pixar, when they obtain the toolset to do that, art directors will be able to try some outrageous things.
More-visuals-with-PS4-and-Xbox-720-qualities.jpg

Other interesting news is that apparently Sony are not going to use the PS3′s controversial Cell chip, opting to work with AMD to provide PS4′s graphics chips although this is only rumor at present, yet this would make the PS4 similar to that of a PC. Both magazines are on sale now and will also be containing reviews of Mass Effect 3 although the screenshots of what the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 titles will look like are visually impressive.
Reactions to this are not as rosy as we expected and there are plenty of opinions about how much attention is being paid on higher fidelity at the moment, and there are mixed feelings about what is perceived to be slight improvements that will be made between current and next-gen consoles. Some feel more emphasis should be on art style and gameplay as there is more room for improvement here first, as other impressions are that gamers are not after a movie with certain amounts of gameplay or a competition with the graphics of a PC.
The current graphics are pretty damn good when you look at titles like Uncharted, although the images do look impressive. Are you expecting more than great visual qualities in the next generation consoles?
