Worst cartoon based off of a video game

So yeah, there have been a lot of cartoons based off of video games. And most of them suck. Which would you say are the worst ones?

I'll provide the openings of a few.


Super Mario Bros Super show

Legend of Zelda

Captain N: The Game Master

The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM was awesome though)

Street Fighter (Montage from the show. It's actually quite funny)

And yeah there is more. My vote goes for The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. That show was just hyper and very stupid. I'd recommend SatAm which was made around the same time and is actually quite good. I'd also have to say Captain N. The show made Simon Belmont into a fag, Pit, very annoying, and Mega Man sound like a super creepy adult.

Actually, the only one of these I think I've seen was the Super Mario show, but I do remember it being very cheesy! Well, if anime can count here as well, I'd have to say the Xenosaga anime that was released--it was cheesy and bad enough to be on the level of a bad Saturday morning kid's show anyway It was really, REALLY bad. Not only did they totally rearrange the order of the storyline, and have worse animation than the in-game graphics, but they had my favorite character, Albedo, doing all kinds of things that were completely nonsensical according to his character; it seemed they (like many of the fans apparently) didn't bother to read the in-game database from Episode III and totally misconstrued his motivations for doing certain things, it made him look easily distractable and stupid and I hated it Glad I only had to sit through it once >_>

AoStH was a good series in my opinion. Sure SatAM was a better series but something about AoStH just really clicked with me. About the others shown, I do remember seeing a Mario cartoon before but I don't think it was that one that was posted. Even from a nostalgic POV the show was decent. It was okay for it's time but still could have been better. The LoZ and Captain N look pretty bad. My choice however would have to go to the Street Fighter Cartoon.

The Legend of Zelda cartoon was--IS the WORST cartoon I ever watched.... In a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure the cartoon was what killed the series for me.

Talk about embarrassing.

Oh God I just remembered the Pac Man cartoon. That show was just stupid and boring. Not much you can do with the story of Pac Man the game anyway. Why did they think it needed a cartoon? And Pac Man had the creepiest voice ever.

I have to say that Street Fighter was a very poorly done cartoon. The voices and characters were awful and if I recall, it wasn't even close to the actual SF storyline. It wasn't as bad as the live action movie though.

I'd have to agree with others saying that it is The Legend of Zelda cartoon.

It's a total embarrassment to the entire series. Nothing good came from it, it was horribly done with horrible dialogue and horrible voice actors... Just... No.

The worst thing they ever did to Link was allowing him to speak. No joke. I remember watching the intro for this and thought it was pretty good until Link started speaking... When Link talks bad things happen to the Zelda universe.

Although I really did like Princess Zelda in this cartoon. She was rather well developed and so much more likable than Link. In fact had they removed Link altogether and just make her the star, because she was kicking way more butt IMO, it might have been a more watchable show.

Captain N was just horrible. There was a huge plot hole in that series. If Captain N has the ability to pause real life with his controller why doesn't he just pause real life, walk up to Mother Brain and shoot it? Oh I know why they needed it expand out for three seasons and don't even get me started on how many times they forgot to put in the background.

"Simon, Mega Man, Pit! You guys look nothing like your original character design! And Princess Lana from.............. Um......... That one game!"

I say Captain N is the worst. I actually liked Super Mario Brothers and Zelda saved the Zelda cartoon for me. The others I haven't seen so can't say.

I remember being absolutely in love with the Mario cartoon when I was a kid. I haven't seen it since though, so I have no idea how well it's held up. Judging by this thread however, I'd probably say not very well!

For a more recent example I think the Viva Piñata show was absolutely horrific.
