FPS games also help form reflexes and the ability to work under pressure. :ahmed:

I read an article the other day explain all sorts of skills games are supposed to be teaching us...but I think the hard truth is that some people are a bit of hard learners. :wacky:

Yes, kids should definitely be taught to play Dungeons and Dragons. It will be really good for them. When they're getting the shit kicked out of them at school for being weirdo losers, they can pretend that it is dragon from dungeons and dragons who is attacking them. I don't think many kids need a game to teach them that 1+1=2. If they need help understanding that then they need to harden the fuck up. Buy them a maths book and kick the shit out of them until they know that 1+1=2.

I think the whole in that theory is that it will teach children that it's okay to go into dungeons, which will make child molester's jobs that much easier. They will wonder in on their own with their bag of dice, and think that old Mr. Willis is a dragon they have to slay, and well the rest is the Lovely Bones.

But I think that RPGs helped encourage me to read, back in the days before VOs, so I would say that they used to be good for kids. Nowadays, they are just shit for young children. They teach nothing, but flash.

Funnily enough I read an article in my Men's Health magazine a month or two ago that says playing FPS titles is actually good for you in moderation :lew:

I don't think playing a role play game would offer any more than any other game available, I've played plenty of games such as the Uncharted series, Bioshock and such like that have amazing storylines and prefer them over RPGs any day. In all honesty I don't think RPGs are that creative, just well knitted together.

The reality is though, if you want kids to become more creative in the story writing area... tell them to read good books.

RPG's gave me a real creative mind and better etiquette and skills at reading. At least FF don't go adding near nude women or anything to the extreme in their games which is suitable for children.

These games have done nothing to improve any apsect of my life. This is total BS....

Just kidding! :P

Okay seriously, these FF games have inspired me to write more stories and come up with creative, hopefully never been done before stuff. I even came up with a story one time, where WWE Superstars and FFIX characters did a cross-over type story. They had to save the world within 70 days or it was over. I wrote about 6 chapters of the story before realizing it was crazy as fuck and needed a make over.

Hopefully, these games will continue to help me in my future endeavors.

Wish my parents had had that article to read when I was getting in RPGs. FF improved my vocabulary and reading skills better than any English teacher I ever had.
