I am very new to FF, and so far, all I has is FF 1 and 2: Dawn of souls. I am very much likeing these 2 games, but I am looking to get another FF game. The question is, which one? I do not have a Playstation of any kind, but I do have a GBA,DS,3DS,Game Cube,Wii,and an xBox360 (Not online). Do note that althrough I am new to FF, I am far from new to RPG style games.

Final Fantasy 3 is available on DS (the remake) and is probably the most similar to FF1 and 2. I actually recommend playing them in order, 'cause they gradually get better as the series goes on (until you hit 12, where things start to go downhill).

So, FF3 has barely any story, but it's incredibly similar to 1 and 2 which you said you like. The main difference is the addition of the job system, but most people consider that a positive. Prepare to level grind loads ;)

you do not have access to any of the good ones. buy a cheap ps2 and play 6-10

I do wish to point out that FF6 is on the gba. In which case, I'm guessing that since it was a remake of FF6,that it will be pretty much like FF6. Thanks to everyone who has given their opinion so far!

Play in order, altough FF3 feels too much vanguardist so i recommend going to the GBA versions of FF5 and FF6 or FF4 that stick to their original snes counterparts but with upgrades, leave 3 after you finish those and play them in order just avoid FFXI and FFXIII (Maybe X-2 too)

the PS1 has some of the most popular titles in the franchise. I love FF1 as much as the next guy, but FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9 are all on PS1.

but i guess you could play ff3 & 4 on the ds, a few of them are available for the gameboy advance like ff6 and ff5

I'm not sure that, besides chronicles, there are any FF titles for Wii or Gamecube. FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are on the Xbox 360, but I really don't care for the first game and while the second one was a step in the right direction away from it's predecessor, is still pretty shabby.

I am not sure, since I didn't try it, but can't you use a ps emulator to play the games?

i find it almost insane to have aboided playstation this long at least in its ps1 and ps2 era

Why has no one suggested The Four Warriors of Light?!?! :amg: Seriously! That's an entirely new Final Fantasy game, that ISN'T a remake of any kind, and it sticks to its roots!
