When I Grow Up...?

I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was younger, maybe around 9 years old. There was a time that I enjoyed learning about every sea creature. That eventually faded as I was growing up.

When I was 13-17 years old, I seriously thought of pursuing Law because I really got into discussions and debates. I read all the crime and suspense books I found in our house then. :wacky: Becoming a lawyer was also my grandfather and father's dream, but they were never realized. I could've pursued it, but growing up I realized that my passion just wasn't there.

Somewhere in between, I also thought of careers as an actress, astronomer and a professional dancer.

At the moment, I'm looking into a career on the creative side. Possibly advertising, graphics design, photography, video editing. After all these years, I'm pretty sure it's where I want to go. :hmmm:

Oh, I was inspired so easily when I was young. Every type of career that I learned about, I always swore I was going to do for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. Then I'd try acting some of them out and got tired of them within a day or two. :wacky: This included being a fashion model, a police officer, being behind the grill at a fast food joint, and wine taster (but back then, I thought cranberry juice was wine, so . . . :gasp:). A lot of things - a few of them I probably shouldn't have known about at the age I was.

By the time I reached my freshman year of high school, I gradually discovered what I really wanted to do as a career or full-time job. That was the year I got into fire dancing, and I practiced a little bit back then with my own homemade poi, but once my grandparents found out my true motives, they did not approve. So they made me wait till this year to do anything dangerous and that would be my own fault in the long run if I get hurt or killed. :wacky: But yes, I do want to be a highly trained fire dancer still - I'm taking lessons over this Summer, as well as teaching myself at home (once my practice stuff arrives). I also still have a huge interest in being an actual graphic designer, which is why I'm going to the Art Institute of Jacksonville this Fall to be enrolled full-time to learn a lot of things. Then there's being a tattoo model, which isn't really a career, but something I'd very much like to be (so far I only have . . . . . . . 1 tattoo. . ITS NOT ENUFF :rage:), as its more unique than just being a regular runway or fashion model. Then there are my other hopes of being an illustrator and a fantasy author. I usually practice my skills on those goals during my free time, and I'm pretty skilled at both writing and drawing. So as you can tell, all of those things I want to be (whether all at once, a few together, or one at a time) involve a lot of creativity and types of arts. I've always been known to be an artsy person. :griin:

I've always wanted to be a bum. Not the kind who sleeps in the streets, doesn't bathe, and begs for change. I wanted to be a bum who's financially secure and able to spend his days doing nothing but sleep, eat, and pursue random interests. I remember in 5th grade when I was assigned to illustrate a picture of myself doing my dream job. I drew myself playing my SNES with a soda. Unfortunately, it's hard to become financially secure without having a job.

So I went to school and graduated college with a degree in graphic design. I think of art mostly as a hobby, so I doubt I'll get a job in my field of study. I'm sure I'll end up going back to school for something else once I pay off my loans.

I donno i didn't really think about my future, i stayed in the moment and didn't really wanna think about growing up lol.

I wanted to work in a magical place, something cool and interesting like jurassic park :P

I wanted to be 3 things...

Baseball Player
Chef
Wrestler.

I said eff a baseball player because quite frankly I don't give a damn about baseball.

Chef was a good idea, but I really don't care about cooking anymore.

I can't be a wrestler due to a number of reasons, but I promise to be a life long fan. As a matter of fact, one of my life goals is to be the biggest wrestling fan I can be. I just love it so much. I don't care what anybody thinks of me because of that! I am, who I am. I'm not gonna change for anybody.

I wanted to be in the army. Mostly because my big brothers were, and I just thought that I could be heroic and cool. All my friends were old fashioned (I went to a sorta snotty private school) and said that women shouldn't be in the army, and so I just gave it up. Haha, that's pretty depressing right there! But anyway ya, and then I later wanted to be a bartender. (?)
Well now that I actually have a brain and know what my skills are, I am probably going to go into Languages and be an Interpreter.
My how people change...

Oh heavens what was I thinking. Interpreter? No.

I'm going to be some type of financial analyst, or I'll go into business administration. Or I'd like to do something with marketing. But definitely in the financing and business area. That's 100% sure.

I wanted to be a singer or a teacher, but recently I have been very interested in profiling. I'm going to uni next year and I can pretty much choose between Criminology or Teaching. Maybe afterwards I can go on X Factor or something and act like an idiot on national TV. I do lessons, so yeah. Everything that I wanted to be when I was little is still everything I want to be now. It hasn't changed much :)

I have always wanted to be a preacher, as well as a teacher.

I am working towards that goal with a PhD in Theology & attendance at a seminary to enter the priesthood.

What denomination or church are you?

There was a weird moment in my life where a thought occurred of me being an aspiring priest. I think I would make a great spiritual leader.
But then that thought went away. Rather quickly actually.
See, I'm Roman Catholic, and the clergy are celibate and whatnot. I am rather inclined to the ~married with children~ route.

Oh, I am Roman Catholic.

I also want to be married with Children, which is why I am getting the PhD in Theology.

If the desire for a family is all too powerful, I have that to fall back on.
If not, than I have that to bolster my career as an aspiring spiritual leader.

Ah, the theologian route. Good way to go with the Church, despite the scrutiny. My priest was a theologian prior to priesthood. Makes him a pretty good leader as well. You never know, it's said that the Church sucks you in- you may very well find yourself being a priest nonetheless :)

Haha, who knows.
Maybe in 60 years or so, I'll become the first Indian pope, BWHAHA!

I wanted to be a Farmer and wake up in the early morning and milk cows and feed dirty pigs and stuff. Oh man, this sounds so lame. But this is sadly the truth....:sad3:

I had a Farm toy set. It was so fun to just move the cow toys into the den and the pig toys into the other fence boxy thing. Sadly RL Farming isn't this.... grand and simple.
