When did you start to level your weapons?

The first playthrough I secretly didn't understand the upgrade system so I just did whatever, and started upgrading right away but just some weapons were just upgraded to lvl 11 or something and I did fine that way.
The second playthrough I saved up the items and started upgrading them to tier 2 was around chapter 8 probably? I can't really remember. At chapter 11 or maybe 12 I had Fang's weapon fully upgraded and the important ones for the others till tier 2 .

:hmmm:, well once i understood what the hell the upgrade system was, and how it worked and such, i started doing that. I currently have almost everybody's weapons at the first level max, just have to get the right transformation catalysts. >.>

At the beginning. Not because I am a "crappy gammer" but because I wanted to.

I wanted to get as strong as possible as quickly as possible.

I found all of the bosses EXTREMELY easy.

I loathe and laugh at my guide book in all of it's crappiness.

I began as soon as I was given free reign on Gran Pulse. Though ive not gotten them very far as of yet because I cant afford the next catalyst crystal. I normaly love the whole weapon level up thing but sheesh I gotta say this system makes me wanna bite the disk.

...I never really leveled up my weapons, to be honest. The only ones I did level up, in a large degree, were Lightning's since I used her the most. I either never had enough Gil to buy extra parts (surprising, since I grinded like hell at one point to get Crystarium Points), didn't find enough, or was reluctant to break down my equipment since I wanted the achievement of "Having one of every piece of weapons/equipment."

And I started to notice the difference it was making later on, when Lightning was dishing out an obscene amount of damage and everyone else was kind of in the "Eh" damage category.

I share Edea's sentiments: I hate the weapon upgrade system of FFXIII. I eventually just stopped upgrading them.

The trapezeons, or whatever they are called are too hard to get and cost too much to buy.

I am trying to get one just by selling perfumes when I can get them on Eden and gold or plush chocobos when I can get them on the plains.A very slow process.
Im up to a million and 6 on the gil so I expect to get enough eventually to just buy one as I have no luck getting the death spell to work on adamantoids and when it does work I don't get anything.
If you get one you can dismantle a specific wand you upgraded and get 3 and go from there.
So that's what I am aiming for.

They are insanely hard to get. The easiest way to get them is to use death on the "Oretoises".

Then use the one you get to max out specific weapons then break them down to get three Trapezohedrons.

i upgraded accessories only since chapter 4 after Light's Eidolon battle. you get more punch for your buck than upgrading weaps. my party is FLV, so naturally i needed to get the dragooooooooon lance for Fangy-poo :)

YES! Upgrade Accessories >Before> Upgrading Weapons.

I can't even remember what accessories I have with my characters now... I know I have Attack increases on Fang and like one magic increase on Vanille... since magic is so useless when it comes to damage. xD She only has it to increase how much she heals.

Note: We have the same party! =0

Edit Note: RITA IS KICKASS!

I know.I've tried...

It must be a very low percentage drop.
I'm sure somebody has calculated just how low.I have tried and even when I kill one I get nothing.
So I guess I'll spend Thanksgiving, when not watching football, fighting, selling things and riding the chocobo around the plains and to get enough gil to just buy one.Once I get one it's easy from that point on.

Once I found any crap necessary and when I had free time on my hands within the game. Or when I could put up with the boredom of killin' crap to get what I need...And a reason to train my characters :P

Yeah. I've killed like 12, or something and I haven't gotten one. I don't have the game anymore, for the main fact that I can't stand the Post-game.

I'm just stating the easiest way to get them, even though it's not so easy.

Not to mention the Gil cost of customization...
Jeeze. I wish there was a better way to get Gil. D<

Well when I was playing the game and I got all the stuff I needed to upgrade, I just held on too it. Why? I was waiting for the Character I been wanting to play with for the longest and that was Fang. And since she joined late in the game with lighting, thats when i upgraded fangs weapon and I gave everything (87% of my items) to her its why she's my strongest character. Then I gave lighting everything else. nobody else didnt get anything.

After I reached pulse and was training and I upgraded everybody once and never touched them again after that.

After I beat the game thats when I really upgraded everybody to at least a second stage weapon. Fang and lighting are my only characters that have a maxed out weapon (my lighting has 2) but Fang was first and lighting was 3rd. I still need to go back and upgrade everybodys weapons if I play the game again.
