A recent thread got me thinking about how annoying it was some of the best summons were one off appearances.

So l was wanting to know what Summonned creatures people missed in subsequent installments and which they would have like to be series regulars?

Its quite possible this has been a thread B4?..........back in the day?

You could say favorite summons...those are always the ones you wanna see in the next FF title..imo

Here we go:

1 Leviathan FF8
2 Anima FFX
3 Shiva
4 Ifrit
5 Yojimbo FFX
6 Bahamut FFX
7 Alexander FFIX

I'll choose from summons that have failed to make appearances in many games recently, as those such as Bahamut and Leviathan are very likely to remain secure choices.

I'd like to see the return of:
Golem. This is mainly for his really useful wall ability which saved me quite a bit on FFV and FFVI.

Siren. This is simply because she hasn't been used very much, and inflicting a negative status effect on the enemy is always something which is useful but is not very common with summons.

Bismarck. Bismarck is essentially a water summon like Leviathan, and he replaced Leviathan in FFVI. I'd quite like to see a game where they fit both water elemental creatures into a single game as creatures which can be summoned with a slightly different take on the water element. I think that a giant whale would be pretty cool as a summon, but I'd also not want them to get rid of Leviathan.

Starlet. She heals HP and I found her to be quite useful in FFVI. I don't think that there are many healing summons out there, and we haven't really had a decent one in a while.

Hades. He was one of my favourite summons in FFVII and I'd really love him to return.

Diablos. He was possibly my favourite summon from FFVIII. Gravity elemental summons aren't commonly used, so either Diablos or Atomos would be great in a future title. Diablos is possible, I think, since he was inserted into FFVI Advance and he is generally pretty popular.

Unicorn. Now I'm not huge on Unicorn, but I certainly wouldn't object to it whether it is used to heal HP, MP or get rid of harmful status ailments.

I'd have included Maduin and Hydra /Syldra in all of that (as they are two of my favourites), but I consider them characters more than summons. They were both connected to the plots of FFVI and FFV respectively, and to me they will always belong to those worlds. That said, I wouldn't object these two if they were to reappear.

well the usual lineup (i.e. Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut etc) will all be welcome, BUT I do not want any airships or fortresses named after them. I was very disappointed when I found out Bahamut was the name of the last level in XII, not some massive badass dragon.

There's usually at least 8 in each FF, but I'd like more tbh. my picks would be

Ramuh (V style)
Shiva (VIII)
Ifrit (V)
Odin (IX)
Bahamut (X)
Alexander (IX)
Leviathan (VIII)
Diablos (VIII)
Carbuncle (VIII)
Golem (V)
Titan (IV)

I say these lot should be regulars, a good representation of each element of the earth. Also an original final, overpowered one (like Eden or Knights of Round) would have to be included.

I don't actually mind who I really see in the next game, just as long as they balance the system so that I have enough incentives to use them without having to curse at how physically feeble they are in battle. The staple summons should remain and some lesser known ones should make a return for the fifteenth game.

Phoenix is one I'd love to see again. If FFXV's difficulty would ever be steeper, I'm sure the ability to revive party members and perhaps damage enemies with fire attacks as well would come in really handy. In fact, on the opposite spectrum, I wouldn't mind seeing Crusader show up as well (from FFVI) even if it damages both sides. xD

Just as a nod to earlier games, I wouldn't mind having Gilgamesh as a summon either - as in kick his arse in a boss battle and force him to join you afterwards. And Ultros for some reason. He should be a summon. Forget Leviathan even, Ultros can be responsible for inflicting the water damage. :lew:

In terms of the uber, uber, overpowered summons, Knights of the Round would make a sweet entrance. Just as long as I don't have to go make a cup of tea in the time it takes to play out the sequence. xD
