"It's just become cheaper for more girls to get the smoky-eyed look of Christina Aguilera. That's because Wal-Mart Stores is moving into the cosmetics aisles, ready to battle for billions in teen dollars. Wal-Mart recently decided to expand its "No Boundaries" line of low-priced cosmetics for teenagers and tweens — children in the 8- to 14-year-old age group who are hovering between childhood and adolescence — into 1,500 of its 2,600 stores. Wal-Mart first introduced the makeup line, an extension of the chain's private label brand of apparel, shoes and accessories of the same name, in selected stores in March. The retail giant will also continue to roll out the line in new and renovated Wal-Mart stores that have a high percentage of teen customers, says Wal-Mart spokeswoman Suzanne Decker..."

"Retail giant Walmart has added a new range of anti-aging make-up to its shelves - aimed at young children.

The new 'Geo-Girl' beauty line is said to be aimed at the 'tween' market of 8-12 year olds, and will include blusher, mascara, face shimmer and lipstick that is 'mother approved', as well as anti aging products.

According to the marketing team behind the line the formulas are designed for 'young skin' and contain natural ingredients like white willow bark, chamomile, lavender and calendula, as well as anti-oxidants which are said to prevent aging."

Are you kidding me? Aren't kids nowadays growing up fast enough as it is? Now we need to push an anti-aging makeup regime on these kids so they stay young and still manage that Christina Aguilera "smokey eye" look at 8 years old? Really, I want to cry sometimes at the clothes that they put out for these young children...halter tops, short shorts, platform heels...I just. What happened to the days of wearing long sleeve tops and jeans and wearing age appropriate attire? ...and now this. I also like how they say they are marketing this to the "teen audience" when they are really for the most part marketing to a tween audience, which is what 8-12 years old really is. What messages are we sending our kids nowadays?

Why on earth would you NEED to look 'younger' at 8-12 years old? :ffs: they won't even risk a wrinkle till at least twice that age -__-

And no doubt the girls will eat this up... I pity this generation

I love how people bitch about stuff like pedos, kidnappings, and teen pregnancy, yet turn around and dress their kids up like prostitutes, or don't stop their kids from wearing it. *calls up Walmart CEO* "Bitch, please." I'm seriously running out of things to say about the ridiculous lack of brain cells in society, I really am. Won't some celebrity out there PLEASE make it cool to dress in modest clothing, wear no makeup, and lose the raging commercialism? Seriously -_- Not only for the sake of the kids who aren't strong enough of mind to ignore the media, but also because this is using up extra natural resources and, potentially, sweat shop labor >.>

At that age, girls haven't even matured. In fact, they're still little girls (more of a case with the youngest age) and should be doing girly things instead of wearing makeup. I really do think that people of this day and age really expect the next generation to be older than they are.

Makes me think of that time I was watching The View (don't ask) and Elizabeth said something about there being baby thongs. It was one of the view times I ever admired what was coming out of her mouth.

What do they want it to be "Wow Cindy, you're 12 but you don't look a day over six?"

My thoughts exactly. The fashion business really needs to lay off the whole "lets dress our young children like prostitutes" business. I mean, makeup is not something that should be on a child. They can wait until they're teenager's for that. Just like the whole deal with short shorts, kid thongs and sexy lingerie-type underwear. There are pedophiles in the world and nothing will stop that, but should we really promote this for our young children? :hmph:!!!

This generation of children scares me.

It really makes me not want to bring any kids into this world.

I think I just made it out of highschool as all these crazy fads started coming in and didn't get sucked into the bull shit.

Kids are meant to be kids. They shouldn't be dressing up like baby whores when they've not even got their period yet.
