So we're agreed. Get rid of the pages and the affiliates. Plus, having too many sometimes looks messy and desperate.

So what's with the no update? I can safely say that the fair way to go about things is to just open up a poll and see how the members/staff decide on things. Maybe even two polls, one for members and one for staff, however both should be viewable to everyone. Staff may have different opinions about the upgrade than most members, but if staff outweigh the members in a 'no' then it's kinda unfair, even if there would be, say 30 members for yes, versus most of staff (what, 10 people?) who would all say no.

Nah there's no need, really. Lord Golbez was already thinking of an upgrade a week ago, but still have some decisions to make before he finalizes anything. Not making any definite promises, but we'll have to wait and see what he finally says once he gets on again. I'll give him a reminder in the meantime.

As for the affiliate links, I know that's been brought up before several times in the past. Kinda forgot what was the deal with that, but it won't hurt to ask LG again.

Speaking from past experience when something is 'brought up' in the past but goes left unfinished... it stays unfinished. But glad to see that Lord Golbez has given it some thought. I know he said he'd feel uncomfortable with the whole donation thing but if a license update is costly, I'm sure people would offer... but afaik, there shouldn't be a cost for an upgrade to 3.8 (at the least).

There's not really any particularly important features an upgrade will offer, I was more worried about security concerns witht the virus stuff. But I've dealt with that for now, and that didn't have anything to do with security holes that any upgrade could fix.

Concerning the cost, hassle, and limited upside, this isn't something currently on my agenda. It'll happen eventually but not soon.
