Kylie Minogue - Better Than Today

I like how she's progressed over the years and her eleventh album seems to be more with the recent times. This is such a fun song and despite there being no genuine meaning behind it, I find this such an adorable little song. I like it when she's performing it live because she puts on quite a show. It's a nice little catchy song to relax to.

Masterpiece Theatre Part. III - Marianas Trench

Can't really understand why I didn't like the beginning at first, I love the whole nearing seven minutes of this song now. Guess it just needed time to grow on me. :wacky: Love the mysterious beginning, and the mash up lyrics off their album. Amazing song.

I've got a new disease in me, I've got a friend that's losing sleep,
I take it hard, it's hard to take, I'm wide awake.
I'm wide awake.
One more confession, discretion's not what I need to sell,
I never needed a reason for keeping secrets from myself
and now that's just how I tell I'm wide awake.
I'll wreck this if I have to, tell me, what good would that do?
I'll wreck this if I have to.

You get separated, somebody's gone,
and I don't know how, this is wrong.
I'm so frustrated, falling behind, you were a friend of mine.
I'd be so good to you, because they don't know you like I do.
They don't know you like I do. (x3)

There's a difference from me to them,
and the road home is paved in star fuckers requiem,
I can never go, go back home again, Acadia is gone.
Acadia is gone.

All my indecision, all of my excess, don't you ever tell me I'm not loving you best,
I just need a minute, I just need a breath,
it gets very hard to drink to my continued success.
Slow down, slow, it's better in the worst way,
it's getting better in the worst way.

Look around 'round, look around 'round, look around. (x4)
So here's another day, I'll spend away from you,
another night I'm on another broken avenue,
trading in who I've been for shiny celebrity skin.
I like to push it and push it until my luck is over.
I wonder what you're doing, I wonder if you doubt it.
I wonder how we used to ever go so long without it.
All the work to impress, charming girls out of their dresses and smiling pretty.
I am right beside you, what you want what you need, I'll make this perfect again.
I thought you wanted me.
If I burn out and slip away.
I thought you wanted me.
You're beautiful, you are.

I've been here so very long and I could slip into you,
it's so easy to come back into you, I'll hide it,
could I hide in you awhile?
I'm not sick of you yet, is that as good as it gets?
I never took you for a trip but sometimes I don't know what you want,
I could take it if you need to take this out on someone.
If this is just a part I portray, I don't know how it got this way.

Slipknot- Psycosocial

I did my time and I want out, so abusive
Fate, it doesn't cut, the soul is not so vibrant
The reckoning, the sickening
Back at you, subversion, pseudo-sacred, pyscho virgin

Go tell your classes, go dig you graves
Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save
Sinking in, getting smaller again
Undone, it has begun, I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

Oh, there are cracks in the road we lay
From when the devil fell, the secrets have gone mad
This is nothing new but would we kill it all
Fate was all we had

Who needs another mess, we could start over
Just look me in the eyes and say I'm wrong
Now there's only emptiness but I'm missing something
I think we're done, I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!

Fake and defenseless lie
(Psychosocial)
I tried to tell you first
(Psychosocial)
Your hurtful lies are giving out
(Psychosocial)

Can't stop the killing
(Psychosocial)
I can't help if it's hunting season
(Psychosocial)
Is this what you want?
(Psychosocial)
I'm not the only one

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

And the rain will kill us all
If we throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see
The preservation of the martyr in me

The limits of the dead!
The limits of the dead!

Plumb - Cut

This is my new favourite song and I'm hopelessly addicted to it. First heard it as Stefan and Elena's love theme on The Vampire Diaries, but didn't think much of it then. I stumbled across it again when I wanted to hear music from the series the other night. She's such an amazing singer and gives such an emotional performance. The lyrics are very simple and there's such a dark, hidden meaning behind them. I especially love the part in the middle when the music really kicks in. Think this is one of the best love songs I've ever heard.

Low - Drums and Guns

Low are one of my favourite bands, and this is another great record of theirs. The vocals of Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker sound as good as ever, and some of the songs are wonderfully devastating in an understated way.

Evanescence - Tourniquet

Guess I just want to listen to some dark songs right now because of my mood. Not heard this for a long time and glad I've decided to do so. Amy Lee is such an amazing vocalist. It doesn't matter what kind of song you'll throw at her, she delivers a fantastic performance. Her voice is very powerful, captivating and brings any song to life, especially this one. It blends in well with the music and the production is impressive.

The Count of Tuscany - Dream Theater

I've yet to get tired of listening to this song. I can listen to it for hours. Of course, since it's roughly 19 minutes long, I only hear it like 9 times. Still, hands down one of their best songs.

Evanescence - Lithium

Probably the best track from The Open Door. The video absolutely suits the song. As ever, Amy Lee has such an amazing voice and most certainly brings this song to life. I like the dark, hidden meaning behind this. It's definitely a bit of a step up from the likes of Taking Over Me and My Last Breath. This is definitely one of my personal favourites from the band so far.

One Star in the Night - Vienna Boys Choir

Yeah, for the next month or so I'm going to be on a rather heavy Christmas music kick. Anyway, this is easily one of the better if not best songs from Little Drummer Boy and well worth being on anyone's Christmas playlist :)

Girls Aloud - Theme to St. Trinian's

This is such a fun song I've not heard for aaaaaages and it makes me want to watch the films again! The lyrics are really laidback, but have such a purposeful meaning at the same time. I like how Girls Aloud were chosen to do this song, I couldn't have imagined the Sugababes or anyone else doing it.

Piano Concerto no. 1 First Movement Allegro
By Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

I was curious to know what Mozart's first ever piano concerto sounded like, hence my discovery of this piece. If I'm not wrong, this should also be one of the earliest piece, if not the first piece, that he came up with.

This piece is quite lighthearted. The First Movement in particular sounds rather playful, encompassing what feels like the joy of doing something you have a strong passion for. I think Mozart really loved the piano, just hearing this piece. I don't know why, but the piece pulls off quite a bit of finger work without sounding too flamboyant.

XD I love this piece.

Lady GaGa - Dance In The Dark

An amazing song and one of the major standouts from The Fame Monster. Her voice is fantastic, especially during the chorus, and I love how she makes cultural references like mentioning Diana. The whole theme of feeling trapped is captivating and makes for a great song that could be a hit on the dancefloor.

Nick Cave- "O Children"

:jess: This is the song from the new Harry Potter movie (7.1) that plays during the scene where
Harry dances with Hermione to try to cheer her up.
Even though it seems at first that that's supposed to be the main point of the scene--to show
their friendship and that they need cheering up at that point
--if you listen to the song, they couldn't have picked a better one. It totally sets the mood for the end of the story and what's to come next in the films--it's kind of got the feeling of, "we've been at the lowest points lately in all this, but we're going to keep slugging on through it to the end even if it kills us"--that's the impression that I get from it, anyway :hmmm: Excellent song, awesome/10, I can't stop playing it (it also fits part of a story that I'm writing atm very well too).

Link to the song (careful, there might be movie spoilers in the Youtube comments, I haven't read them all so I'm not sure :gasp:) :

Forget You - Glee

I love the original Cee Lo Green version, but, this one's just as good... if not better. I never knew Gwyneth Paltrow was such a good singer. I've had it stuck in my head for about three days now, it's just such a fun song.

Goodbye - Secondhand Serenade

Meh... I'm having one of those reflecting moods... This song was right at the time it happened, and this song obviously suits my mood now. I'm feeling emo. -.- Sometimes I wonder if the decisions I've made were the right ones... I like how this song brings back the memories though, they weren't all bad. :ryan: Although things are different, I'm thankful I can still talk to certain people.

It's a shame, that it had to be this way...
It's not enough to say I'm sorry, it's not enough to say I'm sorry...

Maybe I'm to blame?
Or maybe we're the same...?
But either way I can't breathe...
Either way I can't breathe...

All I had to say is 'Goodbye',
We're better off this way... We're better off this way...

Infant Sorrow (Get him to the Greek) - The Clap

We got the clap
can't be beat
Got it off the back of a toilet seat

Seriously, this is the best soundtrack I've ever listened to. XD

All the lyrics are perverted and I freakin' love it! It's so funny to listen to and it's awesome when you're driving along and realise what they're saying. XD Makes you laugh. =P

Handle This - Sum 41

Gorgeous song. I've always had a soft spot for their more serious, melodic and meaningful songs. This is just another great written piece. =/ It's kind of a sad song, and it makes you think, or it makes me think at least - but that's good once in a while. Really loving this tune though, hadn't heard it in ages either. Meh. =(

You said it once before
You don't do those things you used to anymore
You say in doubt we're fading out
Forgetting who we used to be

Cause I will bring you down
I don't want to miss
I don't think you can handle this
You've lost what you can't find
Never what you had in mind

You take it with a smile
It’s so easy when you're always in denial
Just in time but out of line I can't make all the same mistakes you want me to

Cause I will bring you down
I don't want to miss
I don't think you can handle this
You've lost what you can't find
Never what you had in mind

You’re giving up
You know it's not what you need
And it's true what you're going through
Try so hard not listen to everything I never say

Cause I will bring you down
I don't want to miss
I don't think you can handle this
Cause I will bring you down
I don't want to miss
And I don't think you can handle this
You've lost what you can't find
Never what you had in mind

I'm getting over getting used to
And after all that I put you through now I see I'm not the only one

I never thought It'd ever come to
This in fact was never what you wanted from me
Or how you meant it to be

I'm getting over getting used to
And after all that I put you through now I see I'm not the only one

I never thought It'd ever come to
This in fact was never what you wanted from me or how you meant it to be

We Need a Little Christmas - Johnny Mathis

I swear there isn't a bad version of this song out there (of the ones I've heard anyway).

Also I guess it goes right along with what one of the comments on youtube said: It's not Christmas until Johnny Mathis says it is. I've been listening to his Christmas music since I was four and still love it :)

Willow Smith - Whip My Hair (click to listen)

I do not know how, but I just thought about this song last night, got it stuck in my head, and downloaded it to my music player this morning. Now I cannot stop listening to it. Like, there are PLENTY of things about the lyrics that make no sense for someone like her, like for one - she's 9 years old. She can't party. She doesn't have haters. She can't get her swag on. She needs hair to whip it back and forth. She doesn't have ladies, she has toddlers. And she's singing like she's a grown woman. She's in the third grade. Makes no sense whatsoever. But still, this song is oddly catchy .

Adele - Make You Feel My Love

This is such a beautiful and inspirational song. Adele's voice makes me melt, she's got lots of soul and so much to give here. It may be a cover of the original version, but I would've thought this was her own song. She most certainly makes it her own and puts so much emotion into the deep lyrics. I love how the music is so soft and calming. She certainly puts her own mark on this.
