I will look forward to this as I love Norse Mythology and although Thor wasn't my favorite god to read about it will be a good film to watch all the same even if it has nothing to done with the Norse legends it will be good to see some of the gods.

It's a pity they always show Odin as an old man:sad3: but I want to see the movie anyway

:jess: I really, really hope they do this right, because I love Norse mythology too and will ideally be doing historical research on Norse stuff at some point for work. It's kind of hard to tell from the trailer whether it will be good, but at least the dude looks like a good rugged Norseman :P, and if that was Natalie Portman in it, she's one of the few actresses I like. So, I will definitely watch it when it comes out, just hope it will be worth the wait.

I've not seen this version of the trailer before, so thanks for that. :D

I'm really quite excited about Thor. He's perhaps the trickiest Marvel hero to pull off out of the heroes they are currently making movies for. We tend to find that people can accept modern world super-hero movies, and they can accept movies set in a mythological / fantasy realm, but the two of these combined is a risky cookie which the casual viewer may struggle to swallow.

As a fan though, and as someone who is very impressed with the recent main Marvel Movieverse (Iron Man, Hulk), I can't wait to see how they pull it off. Thor looks great, Odin looks great, Loki looks brilliant too (I'm glad they've kept the horns!), and they've put the Destroyer in too.

I'm definitely going to see this. I hope that it does well, or that they decide that it was worthy. I really want to see all of the movies do well so that there is a much better chance of the Avengers movie being accepted by people when it comes out, and therefore a much higher chance of more decent Marvel movies.
