I figured that seeing as we have a thread on what sucked about 2009, why not have one for the good things about it. =)

Some of us may have had an awesome year and might want to share with us! =D

I'll go first.

1. I made a new friend in May and we've become so close this year! I've finally found someone awesome to talk to and share my time with. She's the best friend I've had in a long time and hopefully we'll be friends for a long time. =)

2. I finally got out of my three year job at Best and Less and am finally earning a decent wage doing something that actually challenges your mind.

3. Steve got a new car which is running awesomely at the moment. It's good because I save a lot of petrol not driving around all the time. XD

4. I got a promotion at work and in the same week I got promoted to Mod on this site. =D Awesome stuff. >.<

5. We moved into a house and ended up paying cheaper rent then we were at the townhouse we were at.

I'm sure there's plenty more worth mentioning when I remember it. >.<

---

Just a reminder that this is a post count section. No short spammy posts like this please:

I got a job.
If that's all that was good about your year then elaborate on it a bit please and tell us about it etc.

Any posts not following this rule may be deleted without warning.

I got Tekken 6.

...of course I'm not leaving it at that! XD I also learned a lot more songs on the keyboard (right hand only, and it is almost all video game music. XP).

And, even though it came out in 2008, I didn't see it to realize that it is fully awesome, until last year. The movie I am referring to has become my favourite movie of all time, and the star is my favourite character, period.

This movie, is a movie called Bolt, because the main character is named Bolt, so it works fine for a title, but I'm not going to go on about this one thing for the whole post, though I would certainly have no problem doing so. Lol

Well, actually there's not much to speak of, nothing much really happened for me this year, good or bad, but I got many new video games that are a blast to play throughout the year, and saw a very enjoyable animated movie that I think everybody should see sometime. ^_^

Well, where do I start? Quite a few positive things have happened to me last year that I hope can be carried across over to 2010.

+ All A* grades in my GCSE exams. I sat it early in the summer, and had to temporarily be inactive in the forums to revise for it. I have never and I do not intend to brag about it because I'm not that sort of person. It made my family happier than they have ever been all year, which I suppose is one gift anyone would want.

+ New friends at college. I have left my previous school and the amazing people behind unfortunately, but thankfully I have met and befriended many new and interesting people. We regularly hang around by the computers to chat and mess around, or get on a bus to town during lunchtimes.

+ I have officially become a member of FFF. Previously known as Stella Nox Fleuret- I feel like I have really come out of my shell here in these last few months. I wish I could have been more active earlier, but hey- I'm here now!

+ A friend and I have a part time job in Primark only because we both love the shop. Sometimes it is unbelievably hectic especially as we work in the weekend usually, but we're happy. We don't bitch and argue at all.

+ I'm in the college news team! I always wanted to get into journalism, so I figured I'd sign up for the news team as a starting point. There were a lot of us fighting over it, and luckily I was one of the chosen people. What we're doing now is shooting a video of the eco council to practise before going off to do bigger things. I can't wait :awesome:

Went to Metallica.
Went to Tim Minchin.
Went to All American Rejects.
Went to Rise Against.
Also, I got a repaired xbox, and a better computer that lets me game better.
It snowed.
Completely healthy year, in that I was ill only once, which is unusually since I've been ill a lot these last few years.
Fast year.
Good Christmas.
Got Contact Lenses.
It was my sixteenth.

An average year.....

I went to see Muse in November, which was fairly awesome. As was seeing Kasabian.
I also moved out from my parents' and I live with mates from uni now, and I'm loving that. I've had a fairly good year at uni, and it's looking positive on that front heading into 2010.
And I feel as though I've matured quite a lot this year too, but that was probably due.

Overall it hasn't been a bad year.

2009 was a good year for travelling for me.

Two and a half weeks travelling around Greece for Uni was quite fun, and not as scary as I'd thought it would be. It was overall quite a possitive experience for me, and constructive too as it forms part of my degree.

Then in the summer I went to Tunisia which was fun too. I went to some of the best sites, such as Carthage, the Colosseum of El Djem, and several other trips too. I got to meet some ace animals also and took some good photos and such.

I've been to London to the British Museum three times this year actually. Once in the summer when I went to London briefly with my Dad, once about 2 months ago with Uni for a presentation, and once a week or two ago with friends to see the Moctezuma exhibition. It's a pretty kick-ass museum and there is a lot to see, and I still have not explored it all myself, but it was great going there. I've only just realised today how many times I've been there in a year. I realised it isn't hard to get to at all from here as it is only 20-25 minutes walk from the train station.

Other than that?

I guess this year has been good for getting music. I've bought many albums and increased my listening library, but that happens each year anyway.

I guess the main possitive thing is the realisation that I need to sort myself out with my life, and starting the processes to get me to do that.

I haven't felt 100% for most of the year. Some days I've felt ok, sometimes great because I'm excited about something, others I've felt really bad, others I've been concerned about my health (a more recent thing, but it's all clear so far so it's turned out it's probably something else), but that's life I guess.

This year I've learned to be a bit more realistic and do what most people did years ago, finding themselves. I need to learn what I can and can't do, what kind of person I am, what my strengths are etc, and just try and live to the best I can with this limits. I'm still going to be in awe of every person I meet, but I'm understanding now that I've just got to be myself and hope that one day I'll be awesome too. :)

Oh Cricket you reminded me about my new computer. XD

6.
Finally got a decent and very fast computer complete witha 23.6 inch screen. =D I'd had my last computer for about six years prior to this one. It's good to just hop straight on the computer and have no delays or loading time etc.

7.
We finally got all the furniture for our room besides the bed which we already had. Now we also have a tallboy, a hutch and beside tables!

8. We bought a brand new T.V! It's freakin' huge! :gasp: Awesome for movies and games.

9.
After a year of having to borrow other peoples fridges, we finally bought our own brand new one for $250! Luckily Steve dilevers to warehouses and such and they offered the fridge to him really cheap. XD

That's about it for the moment. Those things that may seem little and what not made a big difference to the both of us and we are really happy now that our lives are becoming a bit more complete. Now all we need is our own house. XD

Maybe it's because I haven't yet looked at the "what sucked about 2009" thread, but it seems like 2009 was a pretty decent year for most folks.

1) got a degree
2) got a job
3) girlfriend
4) bought a house
5) distant worlds concert

The bar has been set for 2010.
