Seven years and seven million copies later, a previously unplayable Super Smash Bros. Melee character was made playable, a glitch that sounds like schoolyard myth but has since been proven to be fact.

For the hardcore Super Smash Bros. player that may not already know that the game's boss, Master Hand, is a playable character, well, it is.


GameTrailers' newest episode of the myth-busting show Pop-Fiction explains, in video, the particulars of unlocking the disembodied gloved one, a surprising glitch that readers of the unofficial Smash Wiki probably are already aware of.


The so-called "Name Entry Glitch" buried in the 2001 Nintendo GameCube game was discovered way back in 2008, so "Old!" us if you want to while everyone else figures out how to play as Master Hand for the first time.

Well, he can't be killed. You can't knock him back at all, so even if you get him to 999%, you will have a 0% chance of beating him. Meaning, he's beyond top tier... He's God Tier. :gasp:

It took seven whole years huh? Wow. The guy who discovered it must be a legend now XD.

I haven't played Smash Bros. forever but, I might pick it up again to see if i can be master hand :hmmm: If i can actually get the code done correctly xD.

Wow are you serious thats why they have master hand on sound test. I knew it was possible to unlock him but not like this xD Awesome this is awesome. I wann try this out now. Does it work in brawl O_O
 
That fucking hand. :mokken: I had nightmares about that thing. Oddly enough, he's one of the few bosses I beat as a child. Both in the original and in melee. He was a fun boss, and I always did want to play as him. So this pretty cool. If only I still had the game. :( I'll find a way to get it back ;)
