Rather than make a thread for each one, the whole series will be discussed here. :)

So anyone enjoys the game? What do you love about Sims? I played my first Sims game back in 2004 (Sims 2 on PS2) and was pretty hooked. Now I have Sims 3 (PS3), The Sims Medieval, and recently purchased Sims 2 Double Deluxe on the PC. For only $20, I figured why not.

So far, loving the Sims 2 PC version - it was a whole lot different than the console version. Creating your own neighborhood (along with residential and community lots), is awesome. xD I haven't gotten far into it yet, but I like what I see so far.

I don't think I'll be purchasing the Sims 3 on PC though...even though I'm looking forward to Pets expansion coming out soon. There's quite a few expansions out already and they can be costly. I think I'd rather play Sims 2 while I wait for Sims 4. But I will purchase the Pets expansion for PS3 version since I already have the base game. I just know I'll be missing quite a lot since it won't be on PC though.

Anyway, I've gotta say that the one thing I enjoy most about Sims is going to Build mode and creating my own house. =] It took me a few weeks just to build a huge house (wouldn't call it a mansion) on Sims 3, but that's because I can be so intricate with details. One thing I hate about console versions: fire meter. How annoying! Mine was full so I couldn't add any more stuff to my house, but I managed to finish it in the end.

Well then, let's hear about your own experience! You may also post any snapshots and videos of your Sims / houses / community lots.

I love the Sims :gasp:

My first sims game was the original, and it didn't have any sound. But I was about 6, and I enjoyed it so much anyway.

Then at 8 I bought a new version with sound, and I got the vacation expansion pack. Man, I thought I had everything.

A few years later I got the Sims Bustin Out, Sims 2 Pets, and Sims 2 for playstation 2. A lot I know. The most fun thing with these games was playing with a friend.

Then, years and years later I got the Sims 3 and it was like my life was complete :cali: But sadly, it didn't work on my computer :sad3: So I waited a year until I got a new computer. I was so happy :melody:

My favorite thing on the Sims is definitely making the sim, and I also love building houses ^__^
I also made a sim version of myself, I am a rockstar (don't hate :( ) It really is a fun game and has come a LONG way since the first one.

If anyone hasn't played the series they definitely should :ryan:

The SIMS *hi-five*

Wow,

Its been a few years since I have played The Sims.

Back when I was a wee boy(age 12) I got the original Sims for Christmas and I constantly played it(sometimes till 2 in the morning, pissing off my parents for being on the damn computer all day).

My favorite thing was to build the houses to my liking, downloading the free stuff off of The Sims website and totally customizing my house for hours on end(oh the memories).

I also was a bit sadistic, boxing in my Sim in a small 2x4 box in the middle of the house with no food, water, and only a toilet so the guy could take a shit:-)gasp:).

I think I still have all the original expansion packs(gotta dig those out of storage).

I can't get into the Sims. Just not my type of game. I usually just end up killing people and causing havoc. Which is only good for an hour or two and then I get bored.

We used to have the original Sims back on our computer a long time ago. We had some of the expansion packs as well, but none of them would install correctly on the piece of crap. The way they had you install them was pretty dumb. I used to spend a lot of time just building random stuff and random people doing things. Not sure why it appealed so much to me then, thinking about it now it seems really boring :gasp: The console version were much much different, seeing as it had a dedicated story mode along with the free create mode. The story mode made it a bit more fun to do things, but I always found it extremely difficult to really get anywhere without really working at it @_@ Haven't played the Sims 3 yet.

I used to like building houses in the sims 3. In fact, I uploaded some of my houses before and posted it in this forum.

And Mitsuki was the only one who replied >_>

Anyway, I stopped playing that game. I really had good memories of experimenting and creating houses. I will probably resume when I have the time.

Oh and I rarely play the sims themselves. It's so repetitive and pointless in my opinion.

I made this unusual discovery today as I was playing.

But yes, I do enjoy playing The Sims. :griin: My mom got me into the series when I was about 12 years old. Unfortunately (well not really. Even at my age, I though there wasn't much to do in the first game of the series), I lost my copy as well as the Superstar expansion pack.

Then I got Sims 2 for the PSP. I will say that I thought it was better than the first Sims, but at the same time, it had a storyline to the console, and I actually didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I could. :hmph: I deleted my save file off of my PSP for space saving reasons, and the fact that I probably wasn't going to play it anytime soon.

Then there's Sims 3, which it is awesome how much you can do in this game. I reached my second character's Lifetime Wish today - at least I did until the game crashed and I hadn't saved anything. . . so I have to do it again. -__- But yeah, I also want the World Adventures and Late Night expansion packs for it, as I'd like to see how much more my sims can do ~ :griin:

Ohhh I looove the sims. For every generation I've bought every expansion pack. I love games where you get to build your own little world (or house) and then just do what you like with it.

My favourite series of the sims was 2. I liked that you could go to the city and actually enter the buildings, I hate in the sims 3 that you can't do that unless you go to the gym or something. They probably did it because the world is so huge in this game but meh, I liked it better the other way. I also loved sims 2 pets soooo much, but i heard they're making a sims 3 pets now as well so I am quite excited for that.

Currently I am playing a family which consists of a Brother who is rather athletic and brave, he has a huge house with a granny flat (I made it myself, I am rather proud of it) His bogan sister who is a great cook lives with him and her teenage son who is insane but a genius. The athletic dude is currently trying to woo a vampire

Well if that isn't freaky. :wacky:

I made a Trader Joes for my Sims 2 game - though it looks nothing like your typical Trader Joes. But I like the idea of having it in my Sims 2 world.

Still gotta go back and fix the landscape one of these days (since it's very plain), but I'm working on a restaurant and it's quite a pain.

Anyway, pics.

Starstruck Yep. :) You can pretty much build whatever you want, so creativity and imagination is endless. I wish there were more items to choose from though.

I love the sims :gonk:

I've loved the series since it first started many years ago when I played the original on my pc. The extensions got better and better as time went on and I was always impressed with the ideas they came up with to make the game more interesting...the pets especially...even though they really didn't do anything. ...didn't they like poop or pee in the house if you didn't housebreak them though :hmmm:

Anyways :monster: I ended up getting the Sims 3 for my ps3 because I was really disappointed when I realized that the pc version wasn't going to work on my pc. The graphics and the customizations for the third installment really are amazing. The house I made is really beautiful and the lots are pretty big and you can build quite a bit on them. The careers are also much more in-depth than in the original games as far as the need for social interaction and skill development. The interactions are laughable and I will say I've had my fair share of laugh out loud moments...like when my girl sim went into labor with twins and her husband does the typical freak out thing...and then goes off into the kitchen to prepare dinner :lew:

I will say I was really disappointed with the fact that you can only play as one househound in the Sims3. My Sims have kids...and if you don't play as the kids then its over from there :( The limit on how much stuff you can have in your house because of the fire rule is irritating too, because I feel like my huge house always looks so empty. ...although I guess I can understand it. I forgot to buy a smoke detector my first playthrough and my sims lit whatever deco candle that is in the game...and the entire living room went up in flames pretty quick...so always remember your smoke detectors when you play :gasp:

...and Mits thats awesome work, how long did that take you to do :hmmm: If I could figure out how to post screen shots of my house I would. I really love it :awesome:

Kirababes and I just bought Sims 3 for the PC after we both played the console version (PS3) for multiple years now. We absolutely adored the console version, but the PC version seems very promising! I cannot wait for us to get things up and running, as mine is already installed and now I'm just waiting on her. :inlove:

Pockets the Sims 3 isn't bad at all. I had it just a little bit before my old laptop...caught....fire...:hmph: the sims there look way more realistic, waaaay more than TS2. :lew:

Also, wondering from anyone reading: if anyone's familiar with recording videos of your sims on the sims 2, how do you fix bad audio? Like...deamonish deep audio? :hmmm:

Ahem! As Jeff said we, a while ago, purchased The Sims 3 for the PC, it's amazing. I love the free mods that people make and how much ADD ON content the PC version has... We bought quite the few expansion packs already. We both have Show Time, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Ambitions, AND World Adventures. :ffs: Hahahaha.

We started off on the console with a family named Chloe Chase and Nathan Porsce (not intentionally after Uncharted's first names) but... as we got to the PC version we both made new families, now... I'll speak for myself here. Meet my little family.

Jade Bailey, her original occupation was going to be a Forensic DNA Profiler, however, changed and mixed, and I think I'm settled on either a Daycare for kids, or a teacher, currently started my game over, but I haven't really started her on a career yet.

Jade Bailey, her traits are: Vegetarian, Natural Cook, Good Sense of Humour, Photographer's Eye, and Artistic.
Her favourites are Veggie Rolls, she's into Songwriter music, and her favourite colour is Sea Foam.
Gave her her own birthday seeing you can give them star signs, October 28th, meaning she's a Scorpio.

Then there's her partner, romantic interest/husband, Aiden Levy.

Aiden Levy, his traits are: Loves the Outdoors, Handy, Good Sense of Humour, Brave, and he's Athletic.
Her favourites are, Hamburger, his favourite colour is Red, and he enjoys Indie music.
Aiden started out with the Law Enforcement Career, as a cop. However, change of path for him, possibly, too. Firefighter, perhaps.

Awwww, yeah.

Oh, The Sims 3. I've spent so many hours on this game when I should have been doing my Psychology or Criminal Justice papers (depending on when I was playing the game, I have had two different majors).

And when I was in high school? I came home to play The Sims 2 for hours instead of doing homework. I'm bad. lol. But the games are so damn addicting. Like Six said, the mods for the games are so awesome and can make the games that much more fun to play. Especially for the Sims 2. I will admit I downloaded a lot of....*ahem* naughty mods for the Sims 2. *cough*

I love playing as FF characters, as Phantom of The Opera characters (I'm a huge fan of the book, musical, movies, etc. lol), and Charmed characters. And occasionally playing as myself in the future. lol.

So far The Sims 2 is my favorite. I love all the expansion packs that the Sims 2 brought.

What the shit is this Supernatural expansion for the Sims 3? What the fucking shit?

I got a mod to make all my vampires die off :hmph: Now they have a DLC exclusively for that kinda crap. I was hoping for a new pack that was interesting :damon: Oh well...

I heard there is a katy perry one too hahaha. Buy it for $20 in the store and you can make your sims look just like Katy Perry :jess:

I kinda feel like playing this game now (not coz of KP!)

They have two Katy Perry (spelling?) things now, one is the "limited edition" of the Showtime expansion, which lets you put giant fruits around town, and another "Katy Perry Stuff Pack" that let's you turn your town into that one room from Willie Wonka with the chocolate waterfall, you know the one.
