Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is speeding toward its January 9 release date. Time for the kingdom heart himself, producer Tetsuya Nomura, to take a break? No way! The Square Enix big shot appears to be as busy as ever, as two new titles have taken the empty slot left by Birth by Sleep.
Nomura made first mention of these two mystery titles in an interview in this week's Famitsu.

"There's a title that's yet to be shown that's progressing faster than expected," he said of one of the games. He wouldn't say if this game is actually new or not, but he did offer, "Development is progressing smoothly. Voice recording has started."

Regarding the other title, he simply said, "It's not totally new, but there's one more more unannounced title. Please look forward to the announcement."

Based off Nomura's choice of words in his comments, it seems that followers may be able to come up with some guesses about these two particular titles.

This news isnt really mind blowing, we all know square enix is constantly developing tons of titles. I wouldnt be suprised if one of them was VII remake, or at least in the compilation since we all know that it isnt over yet.

Lots of people are guessing it's going to be a Kingdom Hearts 3, there's nothing to back that up though. I can tell lots of fanboys are going to go crazy thinking it's FFVII, but I sure as hell hope it's not.

Seeing as they thought it was so exciting to put up a jewlery sweepstakes, I can see people being disappointed with this announcement.

I could be completely wrong though, and I hope I am.

I couldn't FUCKING agree more with this, Asabella. I'm serious. I am so fucking beyond sick of FFVII I could puke. Now Kingdom Hearts 3 would be really exciting since they left KH2's ending so open. That would seriously make me jump with joy! Let's hope that's what it is! And like I said in a previous thread. I want to see FFV and FFVI remade before they go remaking FFVII, ffs. They've already remade I-IV. It'd only be right to remake those titles before FFVII.

People have immediately jumped onboard the speculation train. Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII are among the two most popular suggestions- the FFVII one causing some stir because of this quote:

I want new things from the company and a FFVII remake is not necessary. They should lay the Compilation down to rest because I don't want to see anymore from it. If a remake of another FF game is necessary- it's FFVI- a game I deem superior in terms of depth and characters.

KHIII would be welcoming news especially for PS3. Nomura will definitely realise the PS3 should be their primary machine- not the Xbox 360- which Wada has spent the last few years on his ass sending support over to when it was mainly a waste of time and efforts- west and east.

I would love a KH3 as well, and since they fucked up with the console change (Chain of Memories), I was confused with KH2 most of the time.

The thread about the jewelry is here in case you were wondering about it. It's not open yet, though.

In all honesty, it would be a huge mistake to produce the remake right now- from what I've seen, almost everyone except fanboys don't want it. They're wasting their time if they're working on that. Versus, KH3, anything... just not a FFVII remake.

I get the sinking feeling that there will be a FFVII remake on the horizon. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver has proved that games companies DO listen to their fans, and the outcry for a VII remake has been going on for...hell knows how long. Longer than a G/S remake protest. I know the companies making those are completely different, I just think that is a good example - shout long enough, someone WILL listen. I think its a shame, though. FFVII wasn't THAT good of a game - in fact, by today's standards its rather plain - and I'd much rather see a continuation of the compilation than a remake. Rehashing the original game isn't going to make the story any better, a new addition to the compilation will. Or, better yet, how about we leave FFVII alone and focus on something else?

What I would like to see is a remake of FFV for the DS or PSP. FFV Advance was brilliant, and I think V has been overlooked far too much - it needs to be brought back into the spotlight for a little while. An FFVI remake would be wonderful, especially given how awesome Kefka's voice actor in Dissidia was. I suppose those wouldn't be qualified as "mind-blowing", given the graphics for the previous FF remakes and the general dislike or indifference there is regarding FFV and VI.

As for Kingdom Hearts 3 speculation...I could care less. I didn't like the first Kingdom Hearts when I played it - I AM planning on giving the series another go when Birth by Sleep comes out over here, though - so it makes no difference to me one way or the other.

I want to say KHIII but I don't think it will be, a few months ago someone inside SE was interviewed and they said that they didn't think Nomura had any development ideas on KHIII yet although he said there definitely will be a KHIII. It'd be a pretty massive task to work on both KHIII and Versus XIII as well since the KH team is split between BBS and Versus anyway aren't they?

I reckon the first one could be The 3rd Birthday or Agito XIII. As for the latter, that may be KHIII since it will be announced eventually, it's just a matter of when.

I hope to dear God though that FFVII isn't announced. If it were to happen, I hope they make it on the PSP just to piss people off. :grin: Get on with some new titles plox!
 
Kingdom Hearts is likely, and though they remade FF 1-4, only 3-4 had the opprotunity to go 3-D.....how come 1 and 2 don't get that...... lucky bastards :jtc:

anyway, my two cents it'll most likely be whole new titles. Though an FF5 & 6 remake is out there, doubt it'll be KH3 since BBS would only have just came out.

I don't give a rat's a$$ about 7 right now, I'd rather wait till all the loose ends in the compilation is solved before you do the deed.

I agree with Ryan, I'd say it's Parasite Eve and/or Agito. I would've said Versus, but that's not really a secret anyways :hmmm:

Then again, maybe Nomura is gonna do a completely new game all together. The World Ends With You for the DS was pretty kewl independent game, so I'd consider checking out another one-shot game ^^
 
Aw man, I was kind of hoping that it would be kingdom hearts 3, but according to everyone here, that's probably not going to happen.... But who knows? It just might...
 
Damn, everybody's hating on VII. I realize you guys are tired of VII and want more attention paid to the other Final Fantasies, but frankly you guys are going to be buying the remake just like the rest of us. It's like that Left 4 Dead 2 boycott. No, I'm not saying you're boycotting, just stop complaining as we all know where you stand on the issue and you really can't do anything about the inevitable remake.

With that said, I don't think this has anything to do with VII. I am very sure the remake is in development, but they won't release it until the end of the Compilation. I'm hoping KHIII, an all new VII game to add to the compilation, a remake of FFVIII, or kittens. But none of us really know, so beyond speculation this isn't worth getting your panties in a bunch.
 
I would like a KH3, been waiting for it for a while. I would like a FF7 PS3, FF: Tactics II, Dissidia II even. Though probably in order of want, first being the highest:

Final Fantasy VII PS3
Dissidia II
Kingdom Hearts 3
FF: Tactics II

Once FF7 gets announced which it will happen at this rate, a lot of people expect it, everyone will be constantly talking/wanting about a FF8 remake.
 
I'd like a FF5 remake, simply because I never got far into this one and I loved the cartoony-ness.
A FF7 remake would be nice, just because I'd like to see how well it could go.
I haven't played 358/2 Days yet, so I don't mind if it's not KH3 yet...but that's a bit selfish, I guess.

But it works both ways, people may complain (I do myself) about not wanting an FFVII remake but we wouldn't have to if the possibility of a remake wasn't shoved down our throats every time there's a game expo or SE announces a new title being made.

Would I buy the remake? Yes. If they remake it then they remake it, I might as well buy it. I'd just prefer them to work on new titles rather than go backwards and dwell on old ones.

Inevitable? Surely you jest. Where has anything been set in stone that the remake is inevitable? If SE were smart about remaking FF games, they'd continue with remaking FFV and FFVI before they remade FFVII. I'm sorry, but I get so incredibly sick of people who think that every single time a title or two is going to be announced by Nomura they're all "OMG FFVII REMAKE!!!1111ONEONE!!11ELEVENTYONE!11!! It absolutely gets on my tits.

Why don't instead of thinking you're making predictions, sit back and actually wait on the titles? There are a lot more games than just FFVII out there. Just as Ryan said, Parasite Eve being one of them. Final Fantasy XIII Agito being another. The possible KH3 title that has been thrown around before. They're not exactly new titles as Parasite Eve is a classic PS1 game and FFXIII Agito has been mentioned, but we know next to nothing about this game. So where does this FFVII remake come into play when it's two predecessors haven't even been remade yet?

I had actually interpreted this as another KH installment, which I'm hoping for. "Not totally new" as in not a new series, but perhaps another installment to the already established saga?

When CoM released last time, it wasn't too long of a dry spell before KHII released. With Days released and BBS to hit, we'll have our bridges established and can hopefully continue on to III. It's clear the story has ways to go.
 
Two new projects? Cool I hope this is the long waited the 3rd birthday or a completely new parasite eve game because they are awesome etc etc. Im looking forward to Kingdom hearts III and I hope it is one of them. AND NO NOT A REMAKEE FOR VII God damn it -_-
 
A FFVII remake is unnecessary. And although people are saying KH3, as much as I'd love it to be...I don't think it is.
