Terrible time to die

Okay so today I was playing Final Fantasy VI and I got up to the floating continent. Then, there is an epically dramatic scene involving Kefka and many others (spoilers:
The world gets destoryed, Kefka becomes insanely powerful and Emporer Gestahl is killed as well
) After this I should save right away huh? Well I decided not to :gonk: I was too wrapped up in what's going to happen next.
So I continued on and I got up to the reunion with Sabin and going into the house. Some monster turns me to stone and tada! I die.

Now I have to watch
the Emporer get killed, Kefka destroy the world and become all powerful, everyone get split up, Cid die and Celes try to suicide.
ALL OVER AGAIN!

Basically, my question is this: What times have you died, without saving for whatever reason, and been forced to re-watch something that you really didn't because it is too sad, makes you mad or is just plain bad?

I used to always have my hamster moments in the GI cave in FFVII, I have no idea why I always used to die in there, and I'd have to go through it all again. It used to drive me insane, I'd have to turn the PS1 off and come back to it like a couple of weeks later when I'd calmed down enough

If I was ever unfortunate enough to die after the Kalm flashback without saving though, I don't think I'd ever play the game again

A few stand out

VII - After
Aeris dies
, I never save it and always manage to mess it up somehow.

VIII - I've skipped saving after you acquire Siren during the Dollet mission. I made it all the way through and died fighting Diablo when I first got his lamp.....SO pissed when I realized the last time I saved.

X - Before the Yunalesca battle. "Oh my god, I GET IT AURON! You're a badass who is
dead
and all that shit. Can I just slay this bitch now!" I used to utter stuff like that at my t.v. screen when I lose that fight. And on every playthrough I lose that fight at least once, it never fails.

I thought I had one for IX, but I can't remember, and XII doesn't count since you can skip movies. I've never gotten far enough into VI, V, or Tactics to die/regret not saving. Perhaps one day!

In X I have a terrible habit of dying just after you get into Bevelle, fighting the warrior monks. I generally forget to heal my characters after the Evrae battle and they kill me... which means not only do I have to go through the cutscene of them jumping off the airship into Bevelle, I have to kill Evrae again.

There are way more times I've done stuff like that but I can't remember :hmmm:

I've done that. I've also died right after those extensive dialogues between Cloud and Tifa when
they're in the lifestream
. I have to take a long break from the game when that shit happens.

It mainly happens to me when I'm farming rare items or something and I switch off or push my luck and die and then I load and all that works gone. :rage:

Oh, another time in X when I die is Omega weapon. That can't really be helped because I can never kill that bloody thing, but it gets right on my nerves when I have to go through all of the monsters in the cave, and then again on the way up to omega weapon, just to die fighting him.
I've given up with him on this playthrough. I'm just going to finish the game now -_-

My First ever play through of FFVII, just after
Aeris's death
i died fighting the jenova beastie (before i realised i had a way to absorb water damage) and i was like "NOOOOO SEPHIROTH WAS FALLING FOR 15 MINUTES"

Final fantasy IX, whenever i start a new game, the first time i save is always in Evil Forrest after it becomes petrified forest, and last time i was playing it i got to the sword fight thing between Blank and Zidane, and i got annoyed because i couldn't get above 40 of the nobles to enjoy it and i got annoyed and turned off the console in a fit of rage and just thought "oopse"

I remember dying in the Shinra building on my first playthrough of VII. I went up to the roof, did the whole scene with Rufus and died on my way back down. One of the monsters exploded on me. -__-

I had to go through the entire scene again so I was not pleased. :dave:

I had a few near-deaths in XII at the hands of those Entites as well. It was usually when I was grinding and I hadn't saved for a while. I'd accidentally piss off an entite by using magic in the area (I never saw them until it was too late). I managed to escape each time but not before it nearly decimated my party.

The worst time to die, for me, was the Yunalesca fight. Especially when I've finished off the first two forms, and then she kills me with Megadeath. That cutscene was awful. If pushed, I could probably recite the bloody thing from memory.

I got wiped out in Zozo in FFVI earlier this week, and I hadn't saved since the Battle of Narshe. I was not happy having to do that again. >_>

The worst time to die, though, just to generalise has to be when you've accomplished a lot, or grinded for a few hours, and you've forgot to save, and then a really cheap enemy kills you. No matter which game in the series I'm playing, when that happens, I can't play it again for weeks xD

For me, it's not so much some weak enemy killing me when I haven't saved...it's a random power surge, like if it get's really windy or a storm is just starting (which in the case of a storm, I save and turn it off).

Other than that, I agree, the worst times to die (or other things) without saving are after LONG cut-scenes or long periods of leveling.

Yunalesca fight from FFX, the first playthrough was the worst. I was really underleveled and didn't have the right accessories. I died constantly so had to watch that long cutscene every time again. =.=

Also the first Trema fight in FFX-2 was horrible. You had to fight that annoying big monster named Paragon before you could fight Trema. And he sure gave me a rough time, I also thought I could get % for watching the whole long cutscenes so watched that over and over again as well.
