I don't think there is a thread on this............
If you’re like me and you think Street Fighter is better than Tekken, you will be much pleased to know that Street Fighter X Tekken will soon be available to put a lot of those arguments to rest.
You can check out a lot screens over at Capcom-Unity.
As stated earlier, SF X Tekken will be featured on Capcom‘s Street Fighter IV engine while Tekken X Street Fighter will be running on what’s no doubt going to be the Tekken 6 or Tekken 7 engine. I think if there was anything I was wildly curious and intrigued about, it would be how Street Fighter characters will be transitioned into a 3D landscape. Those of you who played the atrocious EX series already know that 3D and Street Fighter are mutually exclusive, but Namco has proven that they can deliver an excellent 3D fighter time and time again.
I’m definitely looking forward to both titles. It’s incredible to see projects like this finally come to fruition after long time fantasies of it.
No word on yet on when you can expect to see Street Fighter X Tekken on
Xbox 360, PS3, or arcade, but judging from the footage, it shouldn’t be too long.

Info and pics from this source there also the mini clip on here

Ah! I've been looking for info on this game! thanks so much! I'm a Tekken fan more but Street fighter is awesome too. I think I'll get the one where Street fighter is on Tekken's engine :hmmm: but I still can't decide :x3: This is gonna be epic!

My two favorite fighters, coming together as one. I cant wait to pit Nina against Chun-li. Kazua against Ryu. Yeah!

I'm the complete opposite actually. Tekken is probably my favourite of the 2 overall, but I don't think the recent games in the series ever managed to recapture the greatness of Tekken 2 and 3. Street Fighter 4 on the other hand was absolutely fantastic, so Street Fighter vs. Tekken it is for me! :)

Cant believe its 2 years till its release. Was wondering when these 2 games were going to be combined. I wont get it, but Ill end up renting it.

I love tekken and absolutely hate street fighter. The characters, moves and just overall feel is garbage to me. But tekken is my favorite fighter. I'd rather see mortal kombat vs. Tekken.

I actaully think this is going to be shit. Reason why is that they chose tekken against Street fighter... I cant imagine how this will turn out as Street fighter is so much better than Tekken. Zangief vs Ling anyone? xDDDDD

I prefer Tekken way more then the simplistic street fighter, also street fighter 4 was soooooo difficult it was just plain retarded, especially when I killed the blue man/end boss with ramming one button LMAO....I had no choice :( , on Tekken 5 I used 2 buttons to kill the boss off...anyways

This game is yet in production, "footage" basically pics that has been shown are just teasers...this game you wont see released anytime soon ;)

Capcom and Sony Working Together on New Street Fighter x Tekken Feature

Producer Yoshinori Ono discusses new PS Vita feature and other areas of crossover fighter.

While the special PS Vita feature won't be announced until TGS, more SF x Tekken announcements are due from the upcoming Comic-Con event.

Capcom gave PlayStation Vita an early show of support at E3 with the announcement of a version of Street Fighter x Tekken. But it looks like we'll have to wait until September's Tokyo Game Show to see the real potential for the portable version.

At an offsite Sony Computer Entertainment press event on the 9th (as reported at Impress Watch), Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that Sony and Capcom are working together on a new feature for the Vita version of SF x Tekken. He hopes to show this at TGS.

Ono provided just a few hints about the nature of the feature, saying that that rather than taking place in a closed environment, it will be something that lets you experience the full PlayStation family connected together. He also referred to it as a "new experience."

The Impress Watch article (I'm not sure if this is Ono's statement or just conjecture from the writer) likened the feature to how Capcom worked with Nintendo on Street Fighter IV 3D Edition to expand the 3DS's networking functionality.

Regarding the Tokyo Game Show showing, Ono actually wasn't totally committal about it. He asked that the press in attendance write that he believes they'll be able to show the feature at TGS, as this will end up putting pressure on the developers at Sony Computer Entertainment.

The event was also covered by Famitsu.com and Dengeki Online. They provided a few additional details on SF x Tekken as a whole.

In addition to the Vita version announcement, Ono announced during Sony's conference that
Infamous main character Cole would be a playable character in the game. Cole will not be paid download content or something you need to activate. He will be available when you purchase the game. (I'm not sure if he's saying that the character will be available as a default character).

While the Cole character was demonstrated at Sony's conference on PlayStation Vita, Ono confirmed that he will also be appearing in the PlayStation 3 version.

There could be other special characters besides Cole, Ono also said.

Cole in SF x Tekken.

During the Sony press conference, Ono's live demonstration of the Vita version showed him play briefly as Cole. He joked that he was forced to show his unskilled play during the session. For the offsite event, he instead showed more skillful replay data that the staff in Japan had prepared that day.

The PlayStation Vita prototype build of the game uses almost the exact same model and bone data as the PS3 version, Ono revealed. The only differences are in resolution.

Many of the other PlayStation Vita games shown at E3 were said to be launch titles for the system. Capcom would make no such announcement for the Vita version of SF x Tekken for two reasons. First, the Vita version has not reached the state where it is satisfactory as a fighting game. Second, it does not yet have the special feature that will be shown (hopefully) at TGS.

Outside of Cole, Capcom announced four new SF x Tekken characters at E3, but few were surprised because the identities had been guessed from the four teaser videos that had been released in the weeks prior to the show. Ono promised another major announcement for San Diego's Comic Con event, but this time he promised that the teaser video would be extremely tough. He suggested that players attempt to guess the announcement by going through the video frame by frame.

Two of the playable E3 characters were Nina and Kazuya Mishima. Although these characters are from the Tekken side of the game, Capcom did not get Namco Bandai to check their designs. Ono believes the Tekken team might have seen them for the first time in the game's E3 version.

Ono joked that the man in him had wanted to show nudity for Nina, but this didn't happen because he's a gentleman. However, he believes that Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada is not a gentelman, so he won't be so kind when with Chun-Li in Tekken x Street Fighter.

I saw some gameplay for SFxTek. Honestly, I was not too impressed. I never really liked Tekken after Tekken II. But I thought mixing it with Street Fighter would be kinda of awesome. But when I watched the gameplay, I felt that it was SSFIV w/ a Tag feature. Nothing really to go bananas about. The GFX look nice but aren't too different from SSFIV. The only interesting part of the game seems to be the Tekken characters because they are new the SF system. But it's like adding new characters to the current SF game. It's new and cool at first but then not that great when you get used to it. I don't plan on buying this game. But I am interested in seeing what TekkenXStreet Fighter will look like(the 3D fighter).

Capcom had the upcoming Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken Fightsticks in full effect at their Street Fighter X Tekken setups. The sticks sport a new style and are apparently called the "Fightstick Pro" as indicated on the joystick itself. The stick was solid and looks like a nice sleeker evolution from previous Fight Sticks. Check out the photos of the Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken Fightstick Pro below.

Street Fighter x Tekken to be Released Before End of the World

Two of the most substantial franchises in the fighting genre collide as Street Fighter and Tekken make their way to Playstation 3, Xbox360, and Playstation Vita next year. It's still a ways from completion, but Capcom was at E3 to show off its latest crossover.

Capcom's Wes Phillips gives Playstation Blog an up-close look at their epic fighter. Phillips also outlines some Playstation-specific features to be had in the game including Cole McGrath's appearance in both the PS3 and Vita versions. There will also be interactivity between the two Sony systems.

As Phillips states, the 2D tag team combat of Street Fighter x Tekken will make its way into homes before the Mayan Calendar's end of the world prediction of December 2012.

Vita-exclusive characters for SFxT will eventually hit consoles

Capcom held a launch party for Street Fighter x Tekken yesterday, and according to community manager Seth Killian, the extra characters included in the Vitaversion of the title will be released on consoles at some point.

sfxt-march2.jpg

Speaking with Shack, Killian said Capcom plans to “find a way to make sure that console fans are happy,” noting that since the game isn’t out on Vita until this fall, the console crowd may have a bit of a wait.

He also touched up the game’s controversial gem system, stating there’s no reason for fans to be worried about players having an advantage over another when using it. When used properly, the edge gained by the character will only be slight, as it has more to do with adding more creativity to player moves than putting others at a disadvantage.

“It’s a relatively subtle effect,” Killian explained. “But it’s also because of that kind of subtlety that you’re able to be creative with Gems or find ones that really fit your characters or your personal play style. It can also give you that little edge.

“Once you start trying to exploit the Gems in a smart way, you can get that extra little edge over your opponent that’ll hopefully make a difference.”

Street Fighter x Tekken releases on March 6 in the US and March 9 in Europe. The PC version will be released in May.

Street Fighter x Tekken opening movie is all action

The first cinematic in Street Fighter x Tekken has a lot in common with that of stablemate Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3′s, except everyone’s actually moving.

20120503sfxt.jpg

The epic match-ups start off dramatic, take a sojourn through ridiculous, and head straight back to epic. Capcom sure enjoys showing off those flame, water, and oily evil aura effects, doesn’t it? Can’t blame the team; they look great.

Street Fighter x Tekken is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this week, with a PC version expected in May and a Vita version still without a release date.

Street Fighter x Tekken Sony content found on Xbox 360 disc

Hackers poking at the Xbox 360 code for Street Fighter x Tekken claim to have uncovered a pile of characters presumed exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions.

Destructoid reports the character models, prologues and ending movies for Sony- exclusive characters have been found on the Xbox 360 version.

There are three characters shipped on-disc as exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the game – Infamous’s Cole, plus Sony mascots Toro and Kuro – and two PlayStation Network-exclusive DLC characters – Pac-Man and Mega Man.

Additionally, the Vita version will feature 12 exclusive characters when it ships in northern autumn – although Capcom has confirmed these characters will be made available to owners of the home console versions as well.

The publisher is yet to clarify whether players will need to cough up a fee to access the extra characters as premium DLC, or whether they will be unlocked at the end of a timed exclusive.

Street Fighter x Tekken releases on March 6 in the U and March 9 in Europe; the PC version is due in May. Check out an off-screen video of Elena in action below. Hit the D’toid link above to view ending videos for each of the extra characters as well.
