The Queendom of Falena, a land rich in beauty and forever ruled by the eternal grace of the Falena women. A hundred years ago, war struck the lands; a monstrous battle over the Falenan Royal Family heirloom: The Sun Rune that very nearly brought the Queendom to its knees. It was through the sheer determination of the Prince and his Rebellion Army that Falena was saved and the Sun Rune returned to the Sun Palace along with the Dawn and Twilight Runes which would forever protect the Royal Family.
Or so it was thought. For the next hundred years, Falena once again prospered, flourishing to become the most beautiful land in Suiko. The Queen's Knights fought to protect the lands in the name of Falena and wins were born unto the current Queen and Commander of the Knights.
Just seventeen years after the royal twins birth, discord once again rang out from the very core of Falena. Was another uprising at hand? What was causing this ripple? Was war just around the corner again? The Prince and Princess are stuck at the very centre. The time will soon come for them to gather the Stars of Destiny and take this new evil head on... But exactly when this would occur, is the real question.
The Crystal Dawn; A story of Runes, War and Friendship. Upon which side will you stand?
"Princess, all notices are now up. We shall be starting to take a registry for participants shortly. Would you like to be kept up to date?"
The princess yawned, waving her hand dismissively. "Not really, Edward. You know how disinteresting this whole thing is to me. I'm not ready to get married..."
"But Princess... your mother ..."
"My mother is doing what she has to do as Queen, yada yada. Ensuring the Falenan rule and all that..." Kiyoki rubbed her eyes. "I know all this."
Her eyes fell upon the notice on her desk, brows furrowing in annoyance. Who had put it there?
"You're dismissed, Edward."
"You don't need to be so boorish."
"Dear brother, this whole thing... finding me a husband... do you agree with it?"
"Of course not. I'd rather you found your own husband rather than one of the inevitable muscleheads who will preen and prance to impress you." Michio stepped into the room from the doorway, tugging at his royal robes. "If he looks like a wimp, I'll challenge him to defend your honour. I'm not having my sister marry some poncy nobleman who got your hand just because he hired the best fighter."
There was a fire in Michio's eyes that told Kiyomi her twin meant every word he said. "You're the best brother, ever!" she stood and threw herself at him, embracing him so forcefully he could barely draw breath. She released him only when he gasped for air in her ear. "Oh... sorry."
The Prince grinned at the sheepish look on his sisters' face. "Don't worry about it," his words were somewhat breathless. "Come on, let's go for a walk outside the Sun Palace."
Kiyomi didn't need asking twice. Hooking her arm in his, she gently guided the way out of the room, down the large staircase, through the Palace doors and out into the town beyond.
((They are outside of the Palace by the way, meaning anyone in the town can freely interact with them if they desire it.))

The Royal Games
The Royal Games, a tradition of the Falenan Royal Family for centuries; the ultimate tournament which will decide the fate of the Queendom. The winner will recieve honor above all others, as well as the future title of Commander of the Queens' Knights. However, the true reason behind the Games is to decide who will take the Princess's hand in marriage and become her defender upon her ascension to the throne.
All may enter so long as they know how to wield a weapon; or hire another to do the fighting for you whilst you walk away with the prize.
Preceding the Matches, the Prince and his Bodyguard will take part in the Ceremonial Opening Battle to officially start the Royal Games.
Those wishing to try for the highest honor placed upon a male in Falena, must be registered before the match-ups begin.
