Serious Stupid Driving

I'm one of those annoying people who slow down even more if I've got someone riding my ass. The other night actually someone was right on my bumper for about 15 minutes. It was on the way home from work at about 9pm, and at night I usually go 10km slower than normal. However this guy simply wouldn't have it. It seemed as though he'd come out of nowhere cause suddenly, there he was.. lights in all of my windows and I couldn't see a damn thing. I had to hunch over my wheel to get out of the glare from all the windows cause with him being so close, it was blinding.

Since he was pissing me off, I decided to piss him off and slowed down to about 70km for the next 10 minutes until he finally passed me in a turn off lane on the other side of the road. After I could finally see, I regained my speed and wasn't much behind him after that. Of course, I didn't tailgate him though. :monster:

Ugh, I loathe tailgaters. That's the worst thing, seriously. I've grown up about it a bit and managed to control my seething rage when someone gets on my ass, but sometimes I just have to fuck with people. Sometimes I'll slow down, then speed up, then get next to a car so they can't pass on the other side. Sometimes I'll slow down, speed up then get over and give them a dirty look. I've had some pretty dangerous incidents where I could've been shot for pissing someone off so badly for doing that. xD Anyway, I try not to do it anymore, and keep at the speed I'm going until I'm passed whatever car I am passing and then get over.

stupid driving has made the activity much less of a pleasure for me over the years. I blame Maryland for much of this, as the state's police force has seemed to unanimously agree that the speed limit and the majority of traffic laws are not worth enforcing. it's particularly obvious when you cross into Virginia and everyone immediately slows down and stops with most of the road rage.

in my speech class we made a sales presentation for a driving wheel that played calming music whenever it detected that the driver of the vehicle was stressed or agitated, by monitoring their heart rate/strength of grip. frankly I think some drivers these days really need such a device.

omg my friend Shannon drives like that, she's a total spaz behind the wheel, almost gets me killed every time! i'm not kidding! i only ride with her when i'm running late or in a hurry for some reason and nobody else is available, otherwise she'd be on her own! And ok, i hate to be a backseat driver, well passenger driver lol, but with her its either that or she misses a stop sign or stop light because she was too busy glaring out her window at somebody up beside her she thought was tailing her then was passing, then she speeds up to try and hold a grudge and get as far ahead of the person as she can, UGHHHHHHHHHHH I NEED MY LICENSE!!!

Believe me, it is well worth it. The only problem is that you start noticing things a lot more, namely idiots. However the freedom without having to rely on anyone is great. With the large amounts of stupidity on the road, I can't help but wonder how they even managed to get their license in the first place.

Surprisingly I haven't met any tailgaters yet.

i need to get off my butt and do it lol, i should have many years ago =(. Main thing is i'm just nervous around other drivers for the same reasons you said, i trust my own driving ability because i have driven before on backroads with my dad, its just other drivers i dont trust. one of my new years resolutions this year was to finally swallow my fears and do what i gotta do =)

@Flarestar: I used to be the same way before I got mine but once you get used to it you will get over it fast. Just remember to always drive defensively.

@L: Ugh, I think I may hate the non-caring/suicidal pedestrians more than the stupid drivers. I had more incidents with them than the drivers. They don't care if other vehicles are coming they will either continue to walk across a busy street at a regular pace, sometimes even slower just to be an ass, or just try to run across right before you get to them just asking to be hit. You don't realize how sometimes I wish you could legally run someone over for doing something like that with no drawbacks.
