Staff appreation day

...that is not funny.
well i was the person who thought of theis compentition so i shall run it but i will need people to step up as vote counters.

This is just going to become a big bitch drama fest.
Only if you keep thinking like that.

You could basically predict what I'm about to say, but most of the members, less the newbies, are literate, trustworthy, reliable and constructive. Appraisal isn't intended to point out flaws. Au contraire, it's often used in businesses to compliment workers. It's just so much easier to be negative than positive. However, if you give comments based on a controlled template with a given number of questions, which will presumably be run through the staff to make sure they're happy with it, then you've got nothing to worry about. Parallel to that, if you're not happy with being given comments, positive OR negative, then you're obviously worried about something. Getting these comments might give you the kick up the arse you need.

I'm not suggesting that if you get a few complaints then you get de-staffed. In a way, they're used to give the Administrators (or whoever's running it) an insight as to who is performing as should be expected. While I'd like to say otherwise, none of the Administrators currently seem to be active (and if they are, then they're either lurking or on invisible mode) and, as an Administrators job should entail, they should be keeping up-to-date with how their staff are working. Yes, it's only a forum. No, we've not got a lot of problems right now, past the technical side regarding the server. This is just something that would run smoothly and make sure the forums run efficiently.

Good grief, you'd think I wanted my idea implemented again :wacky:

No offense, but I'd rather have someone literate run a competition. :monster:

Yeah, I agree as well....No Offense.

Anyways, I'm for Riku's idea.

The annoymous idea should help keep drama down between staff and members. It's best that staff members view the annoymous reviews. By members seeing what other members said would cause tension.

PWNED.

Oh it's very funny. And did you totally miss Riku's posts? He thought of a similar idea long before you did.

Exactly. Keep everything to a template and regulate it and it won't turn into a bitchfest. There is a difference between criticizing and critiquing. Critiquing would just be giving your two cents-worth on how people perform, it can be both negative and positive (and even the negative could be considered positive, so it lets it be known if changes are needed). It wouldn't be putting mods up on the chopping block, it's simply a professional, organized way to give feedback to the mods. Any store or business you see has a way to leave feedback, so why not here too?

EDIT:

Let's appreciate our wonderful, hard-working, shemale mod Rhea! :wacky:

Riku had the idea first really. And youre being abit selfish about the idea here. Youve not given us much detail on how you would do it. Plus te comment Tyler gave is kinda true.

fine riku could you take it over from me i resign

it is just everyone wants riku to take over so i will give them what they want i am resigning so that riku can take over

...What? There's no taking over scheme going on here. :omg:

Anyway, this idea basically brings us back to the Review Room topic, since you can analyze the members of staff there, among other things. We'll see what we can do.

no just its just that i am letting riku do the staff appreation day sence everyone wants him to

As for the Staff appraisal scheme, if it was ran i don't think it would cause drama. Theres a template there to prevent the drama, and if some breaks out its easy to delete the post.

And i think it's important for staff members to get Feedback from members that isn't in the form of a drama thread...I'm sure that anyone could fill out the form Riku posted and send it to any staff member right now without the staffer complaining about it....so why not a thread / system thing?

I wouldn't mind all submitted comments being public. As mentioned before, feedback is a way of helping staffers progress professionally - should the remarks be constructive.

Perhaps a thread with Rikus template, providing he gives permission of course, should be set up (possibly stickied?), Where members can post their review of any and all staff members, and any negative feedback can be discussed via PM, as you said Saix it would help the staff grow proffessionally, and we'd get to know what members think about us ^_^

Staff appreciation day? Wait you on about that whole reward thing?

You could always run it the way Busta did...make a nominations thread - keep it open for a week and then have a series of polls on those nominations...Granted that could take awhile, and it may be too much for you to do yourself :P

ok well i think i will do that so it might be a good idea to lock this

fine riku could you take it over from me i resign
lol

I've got absolutely no more influence over this place than you have anymore. I only presented the idea again, I wasn't suggesting that I should be running. On second thought, I demand that a new usergroup be made for me, entitled Moderator of Moderators

Nah, keep it to the Administrators. Unless opinions of me drastically change in the next few days, I've got nae chance of becoming any member of staff either. I wont be running it and neither will you. Preferably, LeeD should be running it.

I don't think you understand....Rikus idea was the Staff Appaisal scheme, which he just said an admin should run, if you want to go with your original idea then go with it, or think of something else, because Rikus idea won't be run by a member...(took me ages to post this :omg: )
