ok i have noticed that the admin and mods are treated like a member or lower just because of the rank like the server fussing
i will try to have a contest set up for them and all thet stuff i am planning on doing it around the end of november.
 
i don't know i just thought of it but i will have it set up i know it is short term but i will ha ve it done mind you i will have a few awards to give to the admin that fits it
 
basically having a award ceremony (just a post) contest between the admin mods and other staff. and having a whole day to celebrate the staff.

omfg. Back to the good old ways.

Waaaaaaay back when I was a Global Mod and up for Adminship, I introduced an idea to Josh about a Staff Appraisal Scheme, where the members filled in a given form [which I actually still have on me] and sent the forms to the Administrators, who were Darkblade, Sephiroth and Garnet at that time. I'll paste the form;

It was going quite swell and so I introduced something else to Darkblade, and that was the idea of giving us assessments and such himself, so that he was communicating with the staff. I made a template for him and said template was as follows;

Everything surrounding the SAS was going swimmingly and only ended due to the fact that I left as a result of the Christmas incident. The appropriate threads were later closed because Josh didn't seem to want to handle them.

Maybe it'd be a good idea to re-introduce them? Although it's likely that the templates would have to be revised. Nevertheless, each of us found the entire thing extremely effective.

D'lain, those ideas don't help fix the problems you've presented in your first post. All they do is raise or lower the self-esteem, or ego, of the staff members. I remember I made a "Who's your favourite staff member?" thread ages ago ... and it had to be closed, purely because of the chances people were taking to bash or flame other staffers. It really wasn't fair.

Aha. I get you know, like the FFF awards but only allowing staff members to be voted for?

Meh...i guess if you wanted to do it you could.
 
This could potentially downgrade certain staff members. It's not like we can't stop people from posting their opinions, so I'm a bit iffy with it.


I like the structure of Riku's idea though, but my statement still stands.

That was taken into account and, as such, the appraisals were not given back to the staffers in question. For example, if Tethar Atrum and I were being assessed by one person, the forms were sent to Darkblade. Darkblade was then supposed to take all of the appraisals in at the end of the month, fill in his own wee form and give feedback to the staffers in question, making his comments from what the other members had said.

Unfortunately, due to what happened at christmas, the appraisal never reached the end of its first month and so I can't even comment on how effective it might have been. I think Darkblade's reason for closing it was because it was too complicated for him to run on his own. I was quite the mastermind, back in the day :cool:
If Josh happens to read this thread, I am SO gonny get my testicles handed to me on a plate. Oh well.
 
Yes, the staff are given a hard time on occasion but that's to be expected really. One would assume the staff members are aware that they won't always go appreciated when they take on their position.
It's a good idea really, but only if all the staff are willing for their ego to take such a blow.

Riku's appraisal form seems much better planned to me.
 
I like Riku's staff appraisal idea. If anything of this sort is done though, it should be anonymous.

How about just creating the templates, stickying them then locking the thread and having people PM the results to...whoever?
 
Lawl, i love how the original fun idea was turned into this serious staff appraisal thing XD

One way you could do it is to :

1) Fill out the form about staff member *insert name*
2) send form to staff member so they can recieve some helpful and constructive critisism and praise (praise is good (y) ) or send it to another staff member and ask them to pass it onto Staff member blah.

Or you could just have a thread with it on and then members can publically fill them in, since it would work as a "staff critisizm" and comments thread, but with a fixed templated being there, there would be no room for Drama.

I like this idea. It would be nice if we, the members, get to criticize or comment the staff members. But there should be a rule allowing only the most serious of comments. I'm sure there are a few people who would do it just to bitch about someone. But it would be nice to know who does their job correctly and who doesn't, and who is liked by the members and who isn't.

Oh I think we all know who's doing their job and who's not <.< Anonymity would keep the flaming to a minimum. Creating templates would force people to give legitimate reasons/examples for their like/dislike of someone.
 
well it is not suppose to that is why i was tring to keep it simple.
and the idea was to have everyone pm the votes to select vote counter
