Multiple Platforms Soul Calibur IV

I find it a bit odd since I have already played the PS3 version of Soul Calibur IV and, to my concern, Darth Vader. Yoda was added to the XBox360 Version and I know since I already played both versions (US).

Are they changing it for UK?
 
Read the article. We only have Darth Vader for the PS3 and Yoda is only for the Xbox 360. However, they're both becoming available for download soon. It's lame. Since you have to pay for them if you want them.
 
A load of add-ons for games cost money, for instance if you want 'very hard' mode on sonic the hedgehog I think it costs £3.50. The only free things that interest me are wallpapers, themes and demos anyways but it still sucks... I'm not paying that much for a green jumping midget. -__-
 
Can't believe there hasn't been a post here in so long, this is such a good game.

I just got this game for Christmas, and I've enjoyed every minute of it I have played, it has amazing graphics, and I like all the effects you can choose from for characters to have in certain modes.

Also I like it when a game has many playable characters, and not only does it have very many, but you can create your own too, something I always enjoy doing in Soul Calibur games.

I've created a character that has the Siegfried (sp?) style, and has the Soul Calibur (Final) weapon, and the Auto Impact B, Impact Heal, and Impact Edge abilities/skills/effects/whatever you want to call them. XD
 
Owww after three hours of playing the game my fingers ache and shake. I just got the game today and I'm quite addicted. Just finished the Hard Mode with Siegfried...sheesh that was incredibly hard. Anyway I don't get this Style Level Up thing...two of my characters are already level 5...so meaning as they fight more, they gain levels? I haven't fully explored the game yet. >.>

I did go to the Tower and acquired a few items, and I've purchased a few characters. Now, I haven't created any characters yet - I figured I'll save up to 100,000 Gold and then make one based on...uh someone. Haven't decided yet. I saw people creating Ronald McDonalds and using a chicken drumstick as a weapon...? How'd that happen? o_O I assume I acquire weapons in the Tower...?

Anyway, it's a great game and I love it so far. I'm gonna stick to Normal Mode for now though. -__- I just wanted that one achievement...


 
Soul Calibur Iv is fun but if im playing as Sophitia I will rape ANYONE unless its too easy for me ill let you win. Lol Suki hard is hard? Try the hardest diffuculty which I beat with everyone XD. You will see the true HARD. Lemme tell you that Ascending is the easy part of TOLS! Descending is hell. Even with Astaroth XD. I battle Damo in this game sometimes. Online is really fun. Btw Algol is fun once you figure out his fucked up moveset. Which character do you like Suki. I like all the gals XD.
 
There's a difficulty mode? Normal and Hard are the only ones available to me at the moment. And I like Siegfried, Mitsurugi, and Kilik. There's others too but I forgot their names. -_-

I'm having a hard time acquiring some of the items in the Tower; might have to create a thread for that specifically in Gamer's Guide. =]

I'll have to ask though...what's the purpose of the Arcade? o_O I mean, you don't get any items or weapon-unlockables there, right? I only used the Arcade to get The Apprentice with Yoda.
 
You get certain achievements through the Arcade, which is all I've used it for. Though mainly it seems to just be there to maintain the retro feel to fighting games, which will never go away. ;p

... I got so bored of this game, it's crazy. Things are so easily unlocked, so the only thing I found really enjoyable (for a brief time) was PvP with friends, and the fight with Algol on the final floor on Ascending. Character customisation/creation was alright, but pretty useless once you got the main characters' equipment sorted out. D:
 
Arcade mode is just to get the apprentice who is a pretty worthless character in my opinion. Also really Suki? In my game there are other difficulties so im not sure what you mean by only normal and hard. Also I have the ps3 version so it might be that or I have not been checking properly Xd. Also I think ill get the 360 version too because its fun nontheless. Byw Soul calibur Broken Destiny is coming out for psp on september 30th if your a fan! Like Virgy stated there are some acheivements to do in arcade. Also is Yoda good because I realy hate DV he is so weak. So im guessig Yoda is weaker right? Oh and Mits dont worry about the items they are pretty easy. All you have to do is I think dont miss an attack on an opponent, Ring out, or finish the stage with a critical finish which I hope you have benn practising. Its not that hard actually XD. Anyways how are you liking character creation so far Suki?

Yoda's alright, I guess. Not a fan of his character though. And actually, the items require more than just finishing the stage with critical finish ring out, switching characters or what have you. Some of the specifics are kinda dumb actually - like Stand on every corner of a stage. (18F) I did that, but I didn't get an item. The one that I absolutely hated was Clear the stage with no time remaining (16F) I had to try this stage so many times...there were a few times that there was only 1 second left when I finally finished an opponent...that was such a pain. -_- You reallly have to time it right, which was a challenge in itself. I got the item though after so many tries.

And character creation's pretty cool. I haven't created one yet since I'm still trying to find ways to get more weapons and items.
 
Played the game for some time. I have tried, many Many MANY times, to complete the Tower Of The Lost Souls. But I failed... I am quite the noob at games with action...
At some point I have simply admitted that I'll probably never be able to finish it and thus, as I have already cleared all stories, considered the game as "Done". Which means I'll only play it with some friends and such.

Overall, I have really enjoyed the game and it was much better then what I have expected it to be. Basically bought the game for the hot girls it have (mainly because of Ivy :ryan: ).



The graphics are very good. I have to admit that I expected a little better in-game graphics, but it was good enough to satisfy me.

I liked the fact it is is possible to fully move to any side and the characters aren't fixed only to go left and right.

I was quite disappointed with the storyline though. As it was the first SC I have ever played, I didn't know much about the characters. So I read each one's bio on Wikipedia :). I quite liked most of them and thought that SC has a good story to each character. It wasn't really so and it ruined my enjoyment a little.


The customizing system is amazing! I spent many hours on it!
I always like to create characters and the like, and it offeres quite the range of options.
I have made Tifa, Sephiroth and Cloud just for fun :P as well as edited some characters. I edited mainly the girls (making their costumes more sexy :awesome:).
The only thing I didn't like about the customizing system is that in order to create strong characters, you have to either customize an already existing character or to create a character of your own but to put him clothes according to the benefits they give and not according to what you like.
It means that creating characters I like (like Tifa and Cloud) is really just for FUN and they aren't useful in battles with skills.
 
Yeah I hear ya', DarkClaymore. I've created some video games characters and I'll play against other players online, but I already expect to lose the battles because the skills aren't as good. I've edited a few SC characters to my liking though (appearance and high stats alike) so those are the ones I mainly use for the Tower of Souls. I'm in the upper 30 something floors and managed to Descend 20 floors with Yun-Seong. He's pretty bad-ass.


But here's some well-known characters I've created so far. If I can, I'll take pictures later.

Out of the characters, my favorite one's Marcus, The Flash, Zack, and Lenneth. I think mainly because they were the most difficult ones to mess with, especially Lenneth. In the Story mode, the CG looks more realistic and very close as far as apperances go.

I might do Jax, Dr. Cid, Aragon, Terry Bogard, and Lightning next.

Failed attempts:
Jack Sparrow, Quaker (Quaker Oats guy you see in cereal boxes xD), Vega...and a few others. It just doesn't work.
 
AH! I love the Soul Calibur series and all games in it. I couldn't stop playing it when I got it. LOL.
 
Ooh, you did a Lenneth too, Suki? We should compare and see who got it most accurately xD

I also have Zack Fair, I might give Cecil a do-over though, now I have Dissidia for a guide :wacky:

I actually have Terra and I think i've got her as CLOSE as possible (this was with her FF6 sprite so it's probably AWFUL xD might try a Dissidia version instead)

I forget what others I have, I just know I plain out REFUSE to make Sephiroth, he's fucking EVERYWHERE :ness:

I think I have an Edward Elric somewhere... Can't remember.

Onion Knight might be a laugh though so I might give him a shot, can't see it working though since males get tons of armour and not much clothing >_>

I actually have a Zidane and Squall skulking about who I might take pictars off at some point :P
 
Oh cool Suki and Damo! I would love to see the Video game characters you guys Attempted. I Also made Tifa Final Fantasy VII outfit and Tifa Final Fantasy Advent Children outfit. I gave her Talims tonfas. Also I can't wait to see your Final Fantasy creations. Even though the voices are fucked up in Soul calibur IV.
 
I heard that game was wicked sick!, really want to get it but iI dont have the money. When I get it I'm gonna be so stoked to get it. Hey, who's in it, any new characters, or, any new levels?
 
I'm loving SCIV so far, and it's mainly from the Character Creation.

Not only have I managed to create some Original Characters of my own, but I've also planned on making characters from other games as well!

For example, I've done my take on Kid from Chrono Cross, and I think that with Talim's style, she looks really close to her original likeness.

What characters have you guys managed to re-create for SCIV?
