Seriously, theres no point, getting used to a new code after months/years is just pointless aggro for the sake of one user wanting a smilie naming after them

It may be rag week, but I cant be the only person who thinks its a waste of time and annoying for the rest of us]

Yeah, I gotta agree. It's not like, rage, I hate this forum, I'm gonna leave and never come back and make a hate site about it, but it's just pointless and kinda annoying, especially when it's a trek to find out the new codes. And as she says, when you got used to the old ones after months, sometimes years on end, it's just a pain in the arse. And if ya gotta do it, at least do it with the lesser used ones.

ehh it doesnt bother me really. Once you find out what its changed to you just gotta remember to type it right.
I agree though, that itd be better if it was the lesser used ones which are renamed.

Nah it does not bother me at all. I memorize the new codes pretty easily. I think they are just renamed for the sake of the community if anything. Past moderators had smileys that were then renamed after the new ones. Tia is a ninja.. I can understand that Stang is grumpy etc.

Well to answer ya'll since this was my baby to put in place. After agreeing with Mits I didn't think about "changing" existing ones. If that's causing ya'll harm, but now I have to go back to "said" person(s) and tell them that they may longer have it.

We'll go ahead and create the rules on the smilies so as not to cause confusion.

Though I want to take this time recommend one thing. Be careful on being to suggestive about stuff, it might step on people's toes. Be curteous when asking why a smiley was changed, rather than saying "Hey look what the staff did, isn't that flipping retarded" Even if the words weren't said, just be a bit respectful. I know ya'll mean no harm, and sometimes they are good suggestions, but still =). Just be cool about it. To me this is completely trivial of a request, it can be done or not done at the drop of the hat.

New Rule:

The existing smileys may NO LONGER! be used in a smiley request via VbShop. The means everything. Also if any duplicate smileys are found, they will be deleted.

For instance : jtc : and : hmph : - We will most likely remove jtc now, due to it's pointless to have two.

We are looking to consolidate but allow everyone to add smileys by point request. Again limiting one per user. We will keep the most commonly used non user smileys though.
