Lightning Returns Serah Speculation in LR:FFXIII

So I must say, I'm honestly surprised at the lack of anticipation for what will come of Serah in Lightning Returns. Having just completed XIII-2 and the Requiem of the Goddess DLC, I noticed some things that really make me curious to see what the future of Lightning's sister will be. We know that Noel is in Lightning Returns, and logic would tell us that he probably has some connection to Serah, but to what extent remains unclear. We haven't seen anything of Snow yet in LR previews, nor was he there in XIII-2 Academia 500AF so far as we know. Will he be back on the search now and run into more personality conflicts with Noel? Will Serah and Snow ever get married, or will Noel become something of a romantic interest and break that party up before it starts?

But all that is assuming Serah is still alive and well,
despite being dead. I don't think any of us accepted Serah's death in XIII-2 as being final, and I'm pretty sure Lightning didn't, either. That was one of her stated reasons for becoming a crystal: so she might be able to "guide Serah's soul" in the future, and have just one more time for them to laugh together.

Of course, there is this Lumina character we've seen a bit of. So far all we know for sure about her is that she is a new character, but SE called the similarities in appearance "mysterious." I wonder: all through XIII-2 we were told that Serah and Yeul were the same. Mainly all we saw this to mean was that Serah could see the future. But Yeul was a bit more than that...she was periodically reborn. Could it be that Serah comes back like Yeul did, and if so, would she have to die every time she reached a certain young age? Lumina certainly looks like a younger Serah...
 
I honestly think that Sarah is dead and won't be coming back in anymore than maybe a flashbacks or memories.
She to me is like Aerith in FFVII
Aerith knew she was going die to save the planet, and I feel like Serah was the same way. Serah I think saw her death before hand which is why she thanked Noel for everything at the end.
I really hope she doesn't come back, I think in a way it would ruin FFXIII-2 ending.
As far as it goes, I'm sure Snow well be in the game again, probably going to try and find a way to help Serah like he was doing in XIII, but won't be able to do anything about it, Well he be mad at Noel? Who knows, I think he might be a little less "heroic" this time around though.

And FWI every Yuel was different she never "came back" after she died, their was a new one every time. Unless you are saying there well be a "new Serah" which I don't think it well be the same thing, also the only way I see Serah really coming back is at the very end of the game if the Goddess gets revived and wants to change history yet again...
 
I think it is a possibility there will be a whole 'rebirth' thing here, with someone just like Serah being reborn every once in a while, like the Yuel situation in FF XIII-2. It'll be really interesting to see where they take this 'Lumina' character though... It's pretty clear that she'll have at least SOMETHING to do with Serah.
 
aight, spoilerama here: At the ending of 13-2, Serah died. the world was sucked into Valhalla and that is why we see the shrine of Etro in the background of the map. That explains why Noel is there. now i like this thoery on how lumina is Serah reincarnated. if yule and serah had the same powers, surely they will both be periodically revived. I MEAN LOOK AT HER. surely there is a connection somewhere.
 
I sincerely hope Serah isn't dead, as I am quite fond of her character. However, I also don't want an entire game's storyline essentially retconned for the sake of bringing a character back from the dead. If she is to be the FFXIII Aerith, then so be it, I guess. Was good while it lasted.
 
I think the real question is... what happens to Mog is what will happen to Serah as well? i mean wasnt Mogs only purpose to protect Serah and make sure she was safe and to undo a future that doesnt exist? But personally i think Serah will come back not reincarnated but just as Yuel did, a different person, same concept. Just like Caius said "all of them were different". I hope she comes back, along with everyone else from 13 and 13-2. id like to see Fang and Vanilles return as well. not saying m hoping for a sappy lets all come together again ending, but im just hoping they all make a return. also, what could happen is another world destructing ending, which will b the ending of all endings no more life on the planet. in 13-2 is got the wrath of valhalla released on it, i think something like that could be another ending in LR.
Id also like to point out that im very happy im not the only one waiting for this game :)
 
Accept xiii-2 ending. Somehow serah becomes the new etro etc. Etc. I honestly dont expect any less of lr.
 
No, I'm not gonna accept that ending. I didn't even see it, I just read about it and it was enough to stop me from getting to see the ending for myself. What I felt upon gaining the knowledge of her fate sent me into a small emotional slump. The whole game I was rooting for her to change the past and future. She also grew on me pretty well.

I'm not getting LR anyway. Whatever they do with Serah, it's probably gonna be small. I mean we can't have other characters taking the spotlight away from their precise boring Lightening now can we?

You should probably watch the ending anyways, not only did it seemed rushed but left people wondering "thats it?"
 
Aggggh. I love Serah. And Lightning. I think they both have redeeming qualities. Lightning is a tough bitch who realizes that she's shut out the world and becomes more open. Serah's a whiny little girl who grows a back bone and toughens up. I think it would be neat if SnowxLumina hooked up. I mean, if Lumina is Serah's incarnation, and Snow is missing Serah so desperately, I can see him bonding with her. Or maybe...Lightning! lol I would love a SnowxLight pairing, those two would make sparks fly;)
 
Serah's fate in the last game should stay as is; no resurrecting or reincarnating. Keep her in flashbacks and the like.
