Scariest movie you've ever seen!

No film really scares me, however the likes of the exorcist and stigmata disturb me somewhat, it's not really the same but probably the closest I've come to being scared of a film. I think most of the so called horrors now go for the gruesome factor which isn't scary, people generally just don't like to see fingernails pulled from fingers and knees bent backwards etc.

I remember watching event horizon a while back, that creeped me right out

And Amytiville Horror...Oh 13 ghosts did a little aswel. It's anything to do with spooks that scare me, I'm not all that fussed about horrors normally and I enjoy watching them...just not on my own haha

Argh, I was so scared when I watched 13 Ghosts! Eeeesh >___>;
I love scary movies though XD But its so stupid, because I'm fine when I'm actually watching the film (well...as long as I'm not alone!) and then when I AM alone I get TERRIFIED! I'm so dumb xD I never learn from my mistakes ;___;
I loved the Saw films though! They weren't scary, just gross...like Hostel @___@;
What Lies Beneath used to really scare me...when I was 11 xD

Anything like the Amityville Horror make me more freaked out rather than scared mainly because of the whole 'demonic forces' theme going on. :'(
But I agree with you Yuna, the 'Saw' compilation so far isn't really scary at all, it is more or less just to make you cringe and feel sick rather than trying to scare you.

Well, me my self i am a mega hardcore horror fan XD i always wanna watch horrors when ma friends r wit me but der all pussys n cant handle em lol well any way it is really hard to scare me.
The only thing that will scare me is 1 of them movies how things jump out of no wear.
So the movie i think most scared me was the decent.

Its about i think 4-5 chicks not to sure bout that but they go to explore a cave that no 1 has been in b4.
And while they r in the cave thier is a life form thats like human but cant see or smell.
But the way they get around is by hearing.
Its not to scary but alot of the things jump out like every 5 mins i literly like pissed my paints lol!!

I don't think there's a movie that really scares me...maybe freaked me out a little, but I don't get scared easily. Dawn of the Dead was one of those movies that made my heart race, as well as Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (1974) I guess they're just very disturbing. I realize that most of the scariest movies were made years ago...and I believe that's what makes them "scary" - we see unfamiliar faces, and not Hollywood stars.

well let me telll u there is not a movie that have even made me fread scared or what eva but i tell u one thing that has a fat guy running

Scariest movie I've ever seen was Wishing Stairs.

Its a Korean horror movie that focuses on two bestfriends.. It not only scared the hell out of me, but the plot was better than the horror movies I've seen. It actually had a meaningful story behind it. Unlike The Grudge, which in my opinion had a ridiculous plot because it was basically "If one enters the cursed house, one dies, period."

Not trying to sound "Manly"...but its just that the movies now days don't really scare me to much anymore. They tend to try to be more bloody then frightening.
But as a child the movie IT scared me very much...mainly because he killed children...lol.

I find the older movies to be more scary, because at least back then they based movies around things that could happen...or events that you are in every day. Like Michael Myers, could show up at any time, Jason could be behind your door...Freddy could kill you in your sleep.
But the horror movies these days...The Grudge....I don't spend much time in random houses in Japan so that didn't worry me to much. The Ring...I don't watch to many random VHS's that I find so it didn't bother me as much either...
But those that could happen will keep me thinking quite a bit when I'm in that situation.

I can't stand horror films, just because I don't like gore and stuff, Van Helsing made me jump a bit although I don't think thats a proper horror really is it?

My friend also brought a film over called Hatchet and I couldn't even watch it after the beginning cos a man got ripped to shreds thats how bad I am.

Scream was the last scary movie I seen, I was little, and it scared me into never watching Scary movies again. Yeah I know, I'm a wussy.-_-

Okay... So I'm a sucker for horror/thriller movies... It needs to scare me. I dunno why but I LOVE movies like that.

I just finished watching the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's... Not as scary as I thought it would be. If anything it's not scary, and it disappointed me. The Saw series are more disturbing than this movie is I do believe, and even though this is based on a "true" story, the movie is not good enough to scare me. That, and I didn't get it. The plotline was pointless, or once again I just didn't get it. And the ending? All she does is scream, now I get this, but than she starts laughing in the car as she's resqued? I was like... Wtf? How's this the end? -__-

I dunno if anyone's seen Dead End, but that's a damn good movie, simple, but good. xD Had me sitting at the tip of my chair multiple times.

The Excorsist is a good movie as well. Freaks me out. xD When it's over I'm always feeling real uneasy for a while, and that's the rush from scary movies I guess, and that's what I like if they have good movies xD.

Dawn of the Dead really didn't scare me... =X Meh...

I need a list of fucking scary movies for me to watch, and I mean like SCARY.

Ps. I also dunno why everyone using red for "the", but... >.> I just did it anyways.

I don't mind watching horror/thriller movies. But I don't really find them scary, the last movie I saw that I actually found really scary was The Ring but that was when I was 12/13. So quite some time ago. I can still get startled by movies, but that isn't really the same thing.

I think when I was seven or eight, I first saw A nightmare on Elm street which is in fact, quite a scary movie, and I remember I was scared to school and before I went to bed.

I have probably seen scarier movies, but I believe that is the one who had the most effect on me.

I don't watch a lot of scary movies because they're not my thing. However, I did find myself watching Are You Scared? a long time ago and found myself terrified at some points.
