I personally LOVE scary movies, even though I'm an enormous wuss. I was just wondering what people found were the scariest movies that they'd ever seen. Obviously, people have different ideas of what is scary and what isn't, but I'd be interested in seeing what movies people found frightening. (Also, I'm shameless and want to know of some good scary movies that I can watch).

A few of the scariest movies I've ever seen are The Shining, The Eye (Gin gwai), and The Ring.

The Eye (Gin gwai): Holy crap. This one REALLY scared me. There is one scene in an elevator........I still have issues going on elevators alone. I think Hollywood is remaking it (as they seem to do with EVERY good foreign movie), and I'm sure it'll be terrible, but this movie was genuinely scary to me. *Shudder*

The Shining: I saw this as a little kid, and I wasn't that scared. Then I saw it when I was older and had trouble sleeping. Jack Nicholson is amazing. And those little twins are SO CREEPY!

The Ring: Yes, I saw the Hollywood remake. It freaked the hell out of me. I was scared to go near my television. I heard that the original is scarier, so I'm sort of intimidated to watch it.

I don't think there's a movie that really scares me...maybe freaked me out a little, but I don't get scared easily. Dawn of the Dead was one of those movies that made my heart race, as well as Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (1974) I guess they're just very disturbing. I realize that most of the scariest movies were made years ago...and I believe that's what makes them "scary" - we see unfamiliar faces, and not Hollywood stars.

Dawn of the dead and the ring both versions scare me (the ring that is)
oh yes I am a complete pussy, but does that stop me?

PS: can't wait for saw 4, it is meant to be coming out soon

I don't enjoy horror movies. I watch movies to be entertained--not frightened. There's nothing enjoyable about being scared, in my opinion.

But anyway...

I found Saw III pretty scary...especially since I've got a low threshold for the sight of blood.

I dont get scared by scary movies very often, i do enjoy them though....umm i watched The Blair Witch Project when i was like 10, believing it was real xD that shook me up a bit......in the Decent, the bit where you see one of the monsters come up on the camera....that made me fully jump...oh yeah, the old Texas Chainsaw Massacre had a brilliant atmosphere, when that girl entered the house...with all those animal skulls stuck to the door, and animal bones....

I'm picky about scary movies. I'm a wuss about them though. I can't stand horror movies such as Saw where people die in disgusting ways. I prefer to watch scary movies that are based on true stories. As lame as hollywood makes it worse than it seems, it's still scary to know some of those events actually happened.

I never saw the The Poltergeist the but events that happened while making the movie seems scary as hell. x_x http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poltergeist_curse

I guess one of the scariest movies I've ever seen was The shining and the orginal Omen.

Advent Children was pretty scary. Watching a beloved franchise... get completely gutted. Oh, the gore!

I remember being scared shitless of the exorcist when I was younger. Movies now arent as scary.

Oh and when watching the decent recently, I remember getting alot of frights.

i personally enjoy scary movies and therefor am dificult to scare as i have seen many different sadistic torcher techniques but a movie that scared the S*** out of me was event horizon, its pritty much the story of a space ship that passed throught hell being searched for survivors and during this search the ship posseses it creator and makes him kill the crew sent to check it out

Childs Play freaked me out because of the fact they're dolls and i hate dolls. Having them stare all the time is creepy

the hill have eyes traumatised me abit, i damn near walked out of the pictures.....and im not normally freaked out by these things!

I rarely ever watch horror movies 'cause I just don't like 'em. I hate being scared. :'(

Anyways, I had the misfortune of seeing the Ring (Japanese version). The plot sucked me in I have to say but when all the killing was happening, it stuck in my head. I couldn't sleep in a room with a TV for about a week. xD

Hmm, you know...dolls and puppets always scare the hell out of me. I don't know why...maybe the fact that they're immoble and all of a sudden, they become a nightmare with their creepy eyes and mouth. That's why I've stopped playing with dolls at such a young age.

So any movies that deals with dolls and puppets...I will not watch at all.

I think I'm far too old and mature for movies to actually scare me anymore.

I saw A Nightmare On Elm Street when I was little and that was probably the most a movie has ever scared me in my life.

as a kid they didnt bother me, it's as iv got older that iv turned into a wimp haha

i do remeber blade runner scaring the s*** out of me and to this day iv no idea why

I have to say that The Grudge was the most creepy movie I've seen....I usually laugh at horror movies and at this one ....well....I didn't laugh while watching it....so it must have been creepy.

Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht.

Man that movie still scares the crap out of me. The monstrous images, and the shadows...and the horror. I get the chills just thinking about it.

Pumpkinhead. :'(

I have had an inexplicable fear of this movie since childhood. I still can't watch it without staying awake for 3 days. =S
