I was just wondering...how many people were satisfied with Tidus disappearing (or for others, "dying") in the end?

I, for one, was satisfied with that. I like Tidus enough, and I did appreciate his character, but I thought the ending for FFX was perfect since it was very different from the series. The hero disappears and there is really no happy ending for him and Yuna as far as their relationship go. Typically, there is a happy ending (or so I think...haven't exactly played all the FF games) for the main characters, but not Tidus and Yuna - let's exclude FFX-2 here, please. :D

It wrapped up the game with the perfect amount of emotional gravitas that FFX's story was building up to. To date, I think X's story is the most fully-realized and most cinematic of any game in the series.

Yeah I was satisified with his disappearance since it bought closure to the story.

Shame Tidus couldn't do his disappearing act earlier in the game though -
I could have done without him crying and whining throughout most of the game. XP XP

Its also a shame that FFX-2 showed up and ruined FFX's great ending, oh well. XP XP XD

I would have preferred a different end for Tidus. Something along the lines of an excruciating, bloody death.

I guess the ending is fine as it is, though.

It was a satisfying end indeed. Though I would've been much happier with an actual happy ending, I thought it wrapped up the ending really nicely.

I was certainly satisfied with the ending. I thought it was beautiful; poetic and unique. Although X-2 totally ruined that notion. I liked the fact it wasn't happy. Sadder endings make me think and reflect more, and they stick in my mind for longer. Happy endings are a little too common. ¬_¬

Yup, I was satisfied with it, all the other dreams faded so it made sense that he did too.

Yes. Although I was in a bit of disbelief at first. It left you to interpret many things yourself.
After the credits with Yuna whistling.... good way to end it.

A very good ending I must say. I don't usually go for sad endings but this one is an exception. I liked the ideea that Yuna thinks that she will surely die after beating Sin(you know....final summoning and stuff) and, in the end, she recives a more devastating blow....her lover dies. Congratulations to the producers!!!:monster:

I was very satisfied with the ending. It showed that even though they accomplished their goal, it doens't always end happily. Truth is I cried, but in order for it to even bring out that emotion in me, only shows how much satisfied I was.

Satisfied as hell, awesome characters, storyline, graphics, a wonderful mini-game, what else could one want :D.

Yes very much so, Yuna was so much better off without him, she only started breaking the law (ignoreing the Teachings of yevon) when he showed up and fucked everything up

Of all the different games I've played (and that isn't just limited to FFs), I think this game had one of the best endings that I've ever seen in an RPG. I like both happy (and unfortunate) and unlikely endings to great stories, and this one successfully provided both different aspects.

Tidus was a great protagonist. As a matter of fact, I prefer an adventurous risk taker as oppose to a hard ass hero. So in the end of the game, I had a lot of appreciation for his character.

One great tip for laying out a great story is to always understand the situations that your characters are in, but to never have sympathy for them. I'm glad that the writers didn't give this game a sympathetic ending and allow Tidus and Yuna to live happily ever after, since we know long before the ending what the outcome will be.

I agree that the ending was perfect and fitting. It wasn't the happy sappy ending that everyone is accustomed to, but a bittersweet ending full of twists. X-2 pretty much ruined all that...I suppose the world wants a happy ending...

He had to disappear because he was a dream of the Fayth, had he not disappeared, however, changes would have had to have been made to the story and the game probably wouldn't have been as good.

So yes, I'm satisfied with the fact that he disappeared as it was inevitable, it had to happen or in short - a perfectly good game with a decent story would have been ruined.

It makes a change for the norm and having every character in tip top shape at the end of the game.

I voted yes because I thought it was a good idea to have Tidus vanish! It meant they could make an awsome sequal where he would come back but the sequal flunked it!
But it was also sad but made a good twist it was quite shocking to find out he was just a "DREAM"

Yes cause i thought that it made the ending so good! I loved it and i almost cried! it was soo good :D.
