[RPG Clan] *Radical Dreamers*

Amaigash! Another Chrono Cross fan?!?!?! I haven't played the spinoff game but I just love the name...It's the name of the band of theives Kid was in :hmmm: welcome! xD

It was for SNES(1996) if I recall correctly. I couldn't pay it though...:sad3:
It functions basically like the RPG Inferno since most actions are text based decision making. Released via download on Japan only, but I believe there's an English version. Chronologically, I believe the story goes from Chrono Trigger, to Radical Dreamers and then Chrono Cross since Radical Dreamers was created to tie in the story and explain some plot holes of Chrono Trigger. The slight differences between Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross is because of Kid's actions in Opasa Beach, were she changed time by saving Serge from the Panther Demon which, as a consequence, created the split world phenomena (but I could be wrong though since these series and their stories are a bit tad complicated) since Serge was meant to die.

Now I realize Play Station Network FAILS for not having Chrono Cross for download (at least I haven't seen any option). :jtc:

Interestingly enough, back in the days when I was in staff, I uploaded a gif icon of the Frozen Flame because I was thinking of making a Pseudo-Chrono Trigger/Cross (you can tell because an image of the Dwarf Chieftain is being used in this RPG right now, I am sure it brought memories (Hi-Ho Cry, The Dwarf [Annoying] Train, and the Water Island chapter). The coolest chapter is the Black Dragon Island chapter, were you make Nicky play the song of Marbule to materialize the Black Dragon's nightmare fiends. Fighting those monsters with the Magical Dreamers theme song was great...well Chrono Cross had an awesome soundtrack collection anyway.:awesome:

Upps....got carried away :P

Journal Entry 1:
I made it to the Fire Dragon by myself, wasn't that hard. I only took on the Drunk Tonberry on LV 17 since I wanted enough attributes for STR, HP, and DEF. I also used the Sword and Shield combo to boost my def attributes through equipment. But basically I made my character a tank and hit him hard without Berserk because I forgot to equip it... >.>

I'mma changing my character to Glenn :ryan:

Chronopolis was cool, but the theme songs playing during the encounter with Dark Serge following his transformation into FATE were epic. I wish Chrono Cross had a difficulty adjusting setting because when you start a New Game + things become quite easy.

Oh and the theme of the Dragon God and the environment shifting stages. :x3:

Sab mai Photoshop is brokeded. Can you make me one too? :sad2:

I'd like it in blue please!

You cab get it in one of the music threads here I think. But yea Chrono Cross themes are epic! I still havent beat the TIme Devourer yet though...

Ralitch's Dream Journal #2

I've been trainin at Dipan Castle for a while now. I cant believe it! I'm finally getting stronger! I've mastered all of my spells except the Berserk one though. Upgrading my equipment and adjusting my stats is getting pretty difficult this time around. IThere are so many ways I can take this seeing as I like to use magic AND combat together as one. The place has been empty as there aren't many dreamers around here as much. I don't see as many people on my travels, but hey! At least I'm rich! :P I should deposit some of this money quick! I'll train one day to take on this dreaded Tonberry I've been hearing much about. Level 14 is coming so faaast! But I gotta stay strong. I'm still behind the others But I'll make it my duty to train as hard as I possibly can this week! :D

For now the equipment you get at Dipan will suffice. Getting the full set of equipment helped too. You can take on the Tonberry at the Tavern by LV 16 or 17, depends on how you distribute your stats. I advice getting some DEF, since it will make most physical damage you get very minimal (around 15 and even 0, with 100 DEF you get lots of zeroes).

Anyways...

*embarks on a quest to do some more training....ribbit*

Hey Sab, can you make one of those for me too?

Please and thank you.

Oh. My. Fucking. God. WE BEAT THE KING TONBERRY! Or at least, me and Julius did.

After buying up pet Alicia's to act as scapegoats and stocking up on potions, we went after the fucker. He had a 600+ heal spell, and 5000 hp. I snapped in rage a few times. However, we fucking did it after such a long battle since we double-triple turned it, along with a good supply of Berserk spells and hi STR to deal 100 dmg per strike.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yeah, someday in the future, people will come to fear the deadly combination of the "Shadow" and "The Dragoon Knight". He is quick, and I intend to make my character an "Iron Wall" :wacky:

Journal Entry:

I've reach LV 33, and it is taking forever to reach LV 34 and I don't want to think about LV 35 yet. I already beat the Ifrit on my second battle without using potions since I gave my character over 1500 HP and 180 SPD. This allowed me to get up to three turns for each of Ifrit's turns, giving me an advantage over Ifrit. I didn't really needed much DEX since Ifrit's evasion is around 60, so I used those points to boost the areas I thought were vital for surviving an encounter with Ifrit. I also prepared around 10 Potions which were made out of combining Whiskey and Myer's Rum, since if you use the potions you are either forced to buy more of one of the two, but with Alchemy you can pretty much balance your potion stock. I also had a full set of Mythril Equipment which consisted in Sword, Shield, Helm, Large Armour, and Boots. Even though Mythril is best of defensive equipment, I opted for sacrificing 10 STR of the Steel Blade and shift to using a Mythril Blade of 30 STR (besides 10 points isn't much of a difference when it comes to STR)

This is how my set looks like:

Sadly, I don't think this RPG has the option to Trade Potions, or else I would have gladly taken the role of the Clan's "Alchemist".

Anyways, I decided to shift to a slower class which is the "Heavy Cavalry". Basically this class consists of having large STR, DEF, DEX and HP while neglecting SPD, MAG, MP and MAG DEF (since high MAG DEF means your support spells will be less effective...it turned my Berserk to shit once -__-).

Anyway, if anyone needs help with either the Tonberry Boss or Ifrit, feel free to contact me via PM, Main SB, or RPG SB.

My Character's name is the "Fallen Knight" since right now I am a mercenary knight working for the Radical Dreamers. :wacky:

If we ever get a clan area, I think it should be the S.S. Invincible from Chrono Cross.

On a side note, does anyone knows a place for good EXP? Magma Dragon and Tonberry's are not giving much EXP by now and it is taking forever to level up those two last levels for the requirement.

Oh and a useful tip, you only need around 15 Alchemy to fuse Myer's Rum and Whiskey. So spend some time fusing beginner potions or spare a few points for Alchemy. Fusing is a faster way to level it up though...

I think it's only 10 or 7... :hmmm:

I tried mixing them together at 0, and then 5, and then 10. At 10 though, it worked.

Ralitch Dream Journal #3

Today was okay I guess. I finally got to level 16! :x3: Can you believe that some people are in their 30's now? I'm still weak! xD But hey, not everyone has been mastering all of the spells like I have. Running a clan is more work than I thought it would be. WHo knew you'd have to constantly keep updating? :D But it makes me happy so I do it anyway. Right now the future of the Radical Dreamers is looking well, and that satisfies me, but I hope that my future absence wont keep me away any longer. Nows my time to get to leveling up as fast as I can! I came face to face with Minotaurs and my first Red Dragon last night! I feel stronger allready. I've decided to focus my stats on STR, MAG and EVA. That way I can have strong attacks and magic while dodging most of my opponents attacks. I'm not gonna completely drain my points already ut into my defenses though. The DEX stat still confuses me somewhat. Right now I'm wondering if I can find someone to led some weapons if they can. But it seems like everyone else is miles ahead of me! D: but hey! Now's my chance to catch up! :P Maybe I'll buy a pet for the loneliness:hmmm: anyways That's all for now.

I'm liking the S.S. Invincible idea,. I'm going to look into clan area's :hmmm:

:x3: Actually, whoever I work with end ups being invincible. It's one of my strengths: so long as I'm working with someone else, we can pretty much do anything. It's when I'm soloing that we have difficulties.

Anywho, let me write down why I posted.

Journal Entry: #4

All right! Much has happened since last journal entry. I have gained quite a few levels, putting me to 29. I looked at Fire Cavern, said NO, then turned to the Centra Ruins. That place is fun, since the tonberries there lack Everyone's Grudge, give out lots of exp, and can't harm me. :x3: God I love that place.

After a bit, Julius and I teamed up on the fucker named Tonberry King. It had a healing spell, which held 600+ hp, and Everyone's Grudge. Fortunately, we came up with a plan for the Everyone's Grudge: we both had Alicia that healed each other whenever they died, in a strategy called "Scapegoat!". :x3:

After a long battle (and me cursing the hell out of it) we killed it, and earned our pet Tonberries.

Mine is named Second Shadow. :x3: That's all to report for now, I'll update again when I've done something else worth putting down.

:x3: I can set those up easily. That, or Kevin. We're both criminal masterminds and very good at strategy.

In a war, I would believe that Cardiac would be supplying us with weapons and armor, while we all pitch in gil and such for potions, all of us being able to fuse them. We'll probably pair up in teams of two, I would think Kevin and Oli being one, me and Julius being another, and Ali and Cardiac as the third.

Our greatest strength is not that we're overly powerful members solo, but we're all very good at Co-op teamwork fighting. So long as we fight in groups of two, we'll be fine. Plus, our pets are generally leveled and pretty powerful in their own right, so that's a lot of support.

That's my analysis, though.

Journal Entry:

I finally reached LV 35 after slaying Magma Dragons for a few hours. Previous to that, I survived through two intensive battles against two wandering warriors in the region of Dipan. I was in the town stocking up with supplies and saving my gold while I prepared for another Magma Dragon hunting. These two adversaries fought bravely. One of them was as quick and thunderous like the lightning in a storm. The other had the strength and endurance of a mighty mountain. Both of them had tamed the mighty Ifrit as well, yet my Tonberry assistant and I managed to survive the encounter barely alive. The marks of the battle can be seen carved on the surface of my armour.

This made me realize that we really need to have clan members focusing on different areas in case of war. What do we have so far? Do we have a pure spell caster? We need one in case more advanced support spells are found in future expeditions.

Commander SKX, what's your status? *salutes*

I've turned into a mage, and I might stay that way. :hmmm:

Still stuck at the Fire Caverns. :/
