Speaking with Celestia and Vex.

Chuck didn't say much as he listened to the new guy talk... His name was Vex, what an odd name he thought then Celestia introduced them both.

"Nay I wasn't booted from the inn, I just felt like getting a breath of fresh air before I went to the shrine. I think I can just accompany you, you as my bodyguard would be pointless. After all I was a ex-knight for our oh so wonderful capital."
"Those quick to boast and jest are often lacking in skill. So perhaps I could be yours and the stunning lady here bodyguard instead?"

Chuck raised an eyebrow at the knight bit, he didn't mind that Vex thought he was stronger than he was... but Chuck had been serving the kingdom for over 15 years... and he had never once laid eyes on this Vex person. He didn't want anyone to know about his past at the kingdom though so he didn't say a word.

"If though you wouldn't mind me asking, why would one need a body guard to the shrine, it doesn't seem as if it would be dangerous to go alone?" The new male asked, Chuck just stood there with his arms crossed and turned to Celestia as she answered.

"Well, you never know what can happen, and I don't have my weapons on hand to defend myself should anything happen."
"Hm, well, shall we move along?"

And so they began walking towards the Shrine, it would only take 5 minutes to get there.

"You could be my bodygua'd too, Vex." Celestia said which sounded like a bit of a joke but Chuck did find he felt a little jealous over those words... how emasculating... but he sucked it up and put on a happy face, turning his attention back to Vex.

"So, Vex.... An Ex Knight aye? Which sect were ya in? Who was ya commander? Just curious, Wanna make sure ya know what ya doing, y'know... coz ya think ya can take care-a tha both of us 'n' all." He asked, waiting for an answer, he kind of wanted to make this new Vex guy look stupid in front of the pretty little lady but he was also interested to see if Vex really was an ex knight... maybe he was part of the stealth sect.

Vex speaking with Chuck and Celestia

Letting a small grin come across his face as a smile Vex knew what Chuck was trying to do.He was trying to get Vex to slip on something and maybe from what Vex gathered...no it couldn't be something like that. Someone like him having ties to the knighthood. Also nothing Celestia's joking tone of how he could be her bodyguard he noted to it that she could probably take care of herself. Though since he opened his mouth he continued to walk as if in silent agreement to Celestia's words.

His attention once more returning to Chuck and his questions "So, Vex.... An Ex Knight aye? Which sect were ya in? Who was ya commander? Just curious, Wanna make sure ya know what ya doing, y'know... coz ya think ya can take care-a tha both of us 'n' all."

Still going in stride and doing his best not to miss a beat he answered each one. "Though Ex-Knight I may be its still not my place to talk about which sect I was, one of their rules it was. Very heavy on keeping them they were. As for my commander can't say I knew him well he died shortly into my initiation phase, and I never caught his name. Also again I will say as a Ex-Knight its not a job to know, its a job to do. I feel like I should be doing this there fore I am."

Taking a look around the shine as the group walked in he thought quietly for a moment and asked chuck a question. "Why ask these things, you feel like joining up with the knights yourself, and maybe out to make a name for yourself?"

"I see" Chuck said quietly, he wasn't so sure about this Vex lad... most people knew their own commander... but he didn't comment on it any more questions would make him seem suspicious. But then Vex asked:

"Why ask these things, you feel like joining up with the knights yourself, and maybe out to make a name for yourself?"

Chuck looked up at him, studying the Male's facial expression... he seemed almost smug... like he was trying to find something out...

"Like I said, just curious is all. Never been one to want fame and fortune, no need to make a name fa' myself. Just happy doin' the odd job for little ladies such as this one...!"
He smirked at Celestia, bringing his hand down and giving her butt a quick pat. Who knew how she'd take that... but Chuck was feeling a bit nervous and didn't really know what to do with his hands.

"Erm anyway, seems we at the Shrine... And look... Nothing went wrong. Vex's ugly mug must'a scared the criminals off. Yeh, I'm Just kiddin' with ya Vexy!"
He said giving the male a mighty pat on the back.

"Lost?" Aklyss sneered. "No, I know where to go. I'm supposed to be on Umbra. Now if you had any idea how to get there, by all means tell me. But wait! You're the lost little boy; you don't know where anything is. No love lost. As if there was any to begin with."

Aklyss stormed off, not wanting to even spend the night in this shithole. He'd sleep in the woods if he had to. Hell, he could do this on his own; no need for that little rat who, on a whim, kissed him. At least, then he'd be good for something.

"Lost?" the boy sneered. "No, I know where to go. I'm supposed to be on Umbra. Now if you had any idea how to get there, by all means tell me. But wait! You're the lost little boy; you don't know where anything is. No love lost. As if there was any to begin with."

Stevie watched as he stormed off. What was his major issue? Supposed to be on Umbra? The planet of Darkness? Why would someone want to be there? And was it even real? Of course all that matter much less than the fact that this boy had just rushed out into the night, and that it was at least partially Stevie’s fault.

He ran out the door and tried to find sight of the boy in the night. Finding him in the city would be hard, but with any luck the boy was as uncomfortable with the city as Stevie himself was. Once he was in the woods outside the city, Stevie would be able to find him much easier. The half-nymph part of him had come in handy once, and it seemed would again.

Rushing down alleyways, Stevie followed the familiar path to the outskirts of the city. From there he would head into the woods, hoping that was where the boy had or would go into them himself. Once there he would be able to sense things better. It would be cloudy, he had never been able to get it to work exactly how it should, but it would go better than searching the city.

Stevie wondered why he thought that the boy wouldn’t stay in the city. Even though they’d barely meant, he felt as though he could understand the other’s mind. Worse, he thought he knew why he had that feeling, and he didn’t like the reason. Though he’d never admit it out loud, he had to admit…..they were a lot like.

Ezelus - Umbra: The Shrine of Acerbus.

Ezelus entered through the door, Which was was premating the thickest, blackest fog he had ever encountered, then, the voice spoke again..

"Mage of the darkness: If thou truly wishes to claim thy destiny, Use thou senses as thyne guide through this Fog... " it said calmly, before once again, fading away into nothing..

Ezelus looked around, then closed his eyes and waddled through the fog casually, as if he knew what he was doing, trusting in his inner senses. He could feel a resonance get stronger and stronger with each step, hinting that he is walking the right path..

"Seems as if i am close to the inner sanctum statue..." He thought to himself, as he approached the end of the corridor.

Ezelus walked through the door at the end of the corridor, then opened his eyes, to see a row of torches, lit with Darkfire, all lined up beside eachother, and leading to the Statue.

"Excellent. The trial was fun, but i am here for a purpose." He said to himself, walking up hastily to the statue.

Ezelus approached the statue, and ran his hands all over it, observing the age of the stone it was made from...

"This stone!......It is older than when the war started!" He said to himself, startled at the fact that something so old could still remain intact from before the war era.

Several minutes had passed, then all of a sudden, the statue started premating a dark, ominous glow, which had started forming the shape of 'him', 'The Dark One', The Avatar of Acerbus, himself.

Ezelus stood back in awe, as the demon spirit formed, and cast his blackened eyes upon Ezelus...

"Greetings, Mage. I, am the Dark God: Acerbus. What you see before you a fraction of thyne self, cast aside before the irritable...circumstances that occured during the war..." Acerbus said calmly, letting out a deep growl, and sitting comfortable on his throne, which was set behind where the statue was...

"What is thy wish, Oh, dark one? I am here only to serve." Ezelus asked, bowing respectfully, showing his upmost loyalty to Acerbus's wishes.

Aklyss entered the Silva Forest soon after leaving Primo and it's light worshiping people behind. The woods were familiar to him. He had grown up here. His fingers brushed against familiar trees, friends that had been with him since the beginning. What was there to do now?

He had to find seven out of eight shards, so where did he need to go first? He didn't really know that much about the area but he did know that Otium was somewhat close. Perhaps there he could find some answers.

Stevie could already feel the difference between the city and the county as he exited the outskirts of Primo. He could breathe easier and he could feel his mind go to rest. The light humming of the natural world began in his head, a song he could understand sometimes, and other times failed. This time he hoped he would understand it. And he hoped that his judgment of the boy’s action would be correct.

Once he was in Silva Forest, he stopped. It was time to try to channel his Nymph side, something he was always hesitant to do. It brought back bad memories of his mother, and how she had abandoned him and his father to return the woods. Given that half of her blood flowed through his, he knew that it might not have been her choice, Nymphs were wild by nature, like the forests they loved so.

He took a deep breath and tried to relax and listen to the hum. It was light, almost non-existent. He reached out as best he could and the hum began to feel his mind. He tried to listen for disturbances, but he wasn’t trained to do this. He started moving his feet, despite the fact that he wasn’t seeing. The hum was changing evolving, but it wasn’t doing what he needed it to do.

I need to find him, he thought. I have to find him. He focused on the hum deeper and then he felt it. A chill went down his body. There was something in the forest that wasn’t quite human, and Stevie had a feeling he knew what. After the coldness of the kiss, Stevie had suspected that the boy wasn’t quite human, but now he was curious as to what exactly he was.

Stevie stopped at the same time the hum did, and opened his eyes. What had happened? Had the magic died or abandoned him? He didn’t notice any sign of the boy anywhere in eyesight. Then he heard a slight rustle behind him. He paused, quieted his breath, and readied his magic. Whatever it was, if it was dangerous, it would regret sneaking up on him.

He was there again. Aklyss darted behind a tree. Wasn't his forcefulness enough? Whoever this kid was, he was a persistent bastard. What did he want from Aklyss? Love? He wasn't going to get it; he couldn't even feel love. Or at least he had never actually felt it before.

His fingers were twitching slightly, anticipating. Vapors began to take shape in his hand in the form of a staff. Did he have to kill him to make him go away?

Stevie turned and saw the boy run behind a tree through the corner of his eye. For some reason, he didn’t let his magic go, keeping it on the age, prepared to use it at a moment’s notice. Something in the air made him think that a bit of a show might be necessary. He didn’t want things to go that way, but if they did he had to be prepared.

“I saw you. You come out now. Don’t bother trying to run, I can just find you again.”

Stevie was bluffing, but there was no reason that the boy had to know that. After all, the chance of him being able to do something like this again, much less the first time, was extremely low. He wasn’t even sure why it had worked so well.

“We need to talk about the voice. You can’t just run away from it all. You and I were both chosen. We are this world’s only hope. If we don’t work together…then this world will fade away. I’m sure you don’t want that, right?”

The walk to the Shrine was largely a conversation between Chuck and Vex. Resisting a strong urge to cover her face as the two exchanged words that seemed like a discreet prelude to an all-out conflict, she followed along quietly, smiling softly and gently as a noble lady would when listening in on a conversation.

Finally finding that their words were drawing to a conclusion, she was about to speak when she noticed Chuck smirking at her, and a pat on her butt. Although startled, and almost gasping, she recovered quickly enough to smoothly grin cheekily as she winked. She had no lack of such incidents, enough for her to act all cool and calm, even if she was boiling inside.

Seeing a trace of nervousness in Chuck's eyes, she decided to let this one pass.

"At the sh'ine now, a'e we?"

Looking at the temple before the group, she continued on up the steps into the temple.

"Been a long time now since I've been he'e."

It was all an attempt to change the subject, especially so with the two men seemingly arguing with each other. Not that it was any scintillating conversation either, which was what bored Celestia. Then again, she realized, there weren't many mercenaries that actually engaged in a truly intellectual conversation that had all sorts of underlying insults that dealt blows like in a boxing match.

Considering how their exchange had progressed, Celestia was starting to feel like Chuck was the Knight rather than Vex. Nevertheless, without any proof or real interest, Celestia merely let this pass as she continued to briefly describe the Shrine from memory.

"The Sh'ine of Ace'bus, built in hono' of the great God. I still 'emember all those o'namental a'chitectu'e inside f'om back then. I wonde' if they a'e still a'ound hm?"

"Been a long time now since I've been he'e." Chuck heard Celestia speak "The Sh'ine of Ace'bus, built in hono' of the great God. I still 'emember all those o'namental a'chitectu'e inside f'om back then. I wonde' if they a'e still a'ound hm?"

The temple was cold and dark inside, it sounded like there was a leak or something and it just gave off an eery feeling. Their footsteps on the old stone floor echoed through the deep halls. Chuck listened as Celestia told them a bit about the shrine, he knew about the Gods war, they were taught all that while in training at Acies to become warriors.

The blond walked around a bit, inspecting the old stone walls which had strange markings in them, brushing his large hand over them and feeling the bumps over his skin then suddenly he felt...strange... his vision went blury, everything seemed to go out of focus, he felt like his hearing had vanished and his head was heavy... but then, confirming that he was indeed not going deaf he heard soemthing.

A booming voice, deep, sinister and powerful, it came from no where.

"My Chosen, you have arrived.

For years I have waited for you, trapped in this planet by my nemesis, and you have finally gathered before me.

The traitor with a dark secret. The dark follower who yearned for knowledge. The rare seed who longed for excitement. The Orphaned thief who has changed his ways and The knight banished for being different.

You five will begin an epic quest which will result in the awakening of I, your god Acerbus, I will take control and rule over my planet once again and you shall be rewarded handsomely.

500 years ago Aduro and I fought a mighty war and were merged with the planets. Our souls breaking into 8 pieces and burring themselves deep within the two worlds. We no longer have the strength to keep the planets alive and the worlds are starting to crack. I am weak and am no longer able to sustain Umbra.

I have entrusted the five of you, my chosen ones, with the last of my power to go forth and collect 7 of the 8 Spirit Shards, if you do I will be restored and Umbra will be saved but the people of Relucesco will perish. If you fail, and the warriors from Relucesco succeed, this planet as you know it will cease to exist. The consequences of your actions from this moment forward are a matter of life and death.

Now take my power and go, go become the saviors our planet needs before it is too late."

"Argh!" Chuck groaned lifting his right palm into eyesight, being burnt into his flesh was a symbol... it was a triangle with their god in the centre. It stung but soon the pain faded, the symbol flashed a bright red before settling as a scar. Then his vision was restored... and everything seemed normal... for a second Chuck even thought that it may have been a dream...
Then he remembered, Celestia... he was meant to protect her.

"Celestia, Ya ok?" He said rushing to her.

Vex griped his head in agony as his senses were overcome. The world around him vanishing into a bright light and then came the voice.

Now take my power and go, go become the saviors our planet needs before it is too late."

His mind beginning to clear the booming voice settling down and his vison returning, his attention was returned to his left hand. He notice a symbol on it now a triangle with what appeared to be an imagie of this worlds god in it. Next his attention turned to his two companions he came in here with, noticing Chuck rushing to Celestia he walked over to them as well. Offering a hand to the later if she needed up. Then he spoke "Ok was that just me or were you two just violated by a strange voice saying you were chose to do something now?" Then looking at Chuck who seemed to be the only other so far to be recovered he said "I suppose you don't know what any of this mambo jumbo about saving our world is supposed to mean do you?

The one thing Vex couldn't but help think to himself was the whole save their world only to scarfice another. "So in order to save ourselves we need to kill an entire planet, that doesn't sound right. Also collect only seven shards, what would happen if we collected all eight, would it be possible to save both planets then. This is to confusing, maybe during this journey maybe I can find an answer."

As if on cue, a voice rang out suddenly in her head. Celestia was gripping her head as she fell to her knees. The booming voice echoed in her head, making it difficult to listen clearly. Thinking it was external, she slammed her eyelids shut, to no avail.

It was only as the apparent voice of the God Acerbus finished that the headache-like experience subsided.

That only sparked off another sense of malaise - out of the frying pan into the open fire. While the notion of killing was okay to her provided if there was a sufficiently good reason by her moral standards, this entire mission to save their world and in the process, annihilating life on another planet...

"No," Celestia muttered in response to Chuck.

As Vex came over to her, asking about the entire ordeal, she couldn't stifle her surprised gasp as she looked up at him, grabbing his hand to pull herself up.

"Killing an enti'e planet of people?"

Her mind started flashing the images of people who had touched her life - her parents, her mercenary friends, even the faces of strangers whom she had helped for money.

Glancing over to Chuck, she asked him,"I can't believe this! What is this?"

Prince Robert Silvermyst
Relucesco Shrine -> Town
Addressing the other Chosen ones of Relucesco

Robert listened intently to the words of the Goddess. It was alot to take in, not only being responsible for the fate of Relucesco, but also the fate of the people of Umbra. It was a feeling of grief that swept over his heart. Regardless of which side gathered the shards, one planet would die, and thus would those people that remained on the doomed planet.

Robert felt energy focus upon the back of his hand-paw and upon it burned a symbol. His eyes opened to look upon the symbol, and then glanced up to the one who addressed him. "Indeed. Tis a heavy burden we face, especially when our actions will not only determine who lives, but who's lives are ended. If anything, should there be some reasonable people living upon Umbra, I would see those who seek refuge given refuge upon our world before the Goddess returns." Robert spoke before he stood to his feet.

"Our first task is to gather as much information on the shards in this world and their possible locations as we can. We must find these shards, and from there wait for the Umbrians to come to our world seeking our shards and try to reason with them. I think if we all put our heads together, a new possibility might arise." Robert spoke before he began to walk out of the shrine.

"The library in the castle is the largest in the world. I would suggest we go to the castle in Divitie and do some research. We might find possible shard locations that might have been recorded by historians." the wolven prince suggested.

Ezelus > Umbrian Shrine > Quest for the 1st Shard.

Ezelus, who had been resting by one of the pillars, heard the others talking amongst one another, then decided to get to his feet and slowly make his way to the group..

"Ahh... I see you all finally made it. Good! Now that we know our mission, let us be off, we have a light filled planet to destroy!" He said, with a seemingly excited expression run across his face, The mere thought of reducing the dreaded "Relucesco" to nothing but debris...

Ezelus cracked hie neck, grabbed his Bone Staff, and slowly made his way through the door that had opened after Acerbus made his speech.

While walking down the hallway, back to the entrance of the shrine, Ezelus began to wonder the personalities of his "Comrades". He has never worked in a group before, which made him wonder how useful they'll really be.

"Tsk, eventhough they are my teammates, if they hinder my plans, they will be burned alive!" he thought to himself, as he walked back through the door, back outside of the shrine, staring at the night sky...

Asher Brighton
Relucesco
Speaking with Prince Robert

Asher listened to what the Man before her was saying. She too didn't like the idea of blowing up a planet just to save their own, but if she knew anything else it was that most of the Umbrian's loathed the people from the planet of light. She didn't know if they would come here without force.

"Well Sir, it seems we will need to work together if we are to save anyone, I have a new friend waiting for me on the outskirts of town, may we meet with her so we can discuss our next move?"

Asher smiled up at the man who seemed so noble, he seemed so mature and it made her feel safe. "There are also two others we need to find... we should hurry...but first could you please tell me your name? I am Asher."

Channing (Chuck) Freeley
Umbra
Speaking with Celestia, Vex and Ezelus

Chuck turned to Vex as he was adressed...He wasn't sure why he thought he knew anything about what was going on... he didn't at all.
"I'm not too sure what tha' was about..." He said sighing "It sounds like sumfin I don't wanna refuse though... savin' this planet may mean the other will disappear but... my loyalty is with Umbra... I will do what I can to protect it.."

He then turned to Celestia who seemed to have just recovered from... whatever just happened. "Poor luv" He frowned "I'm sorry I failed ya." He felt genuinely bad... but he wasn't sure if he could have even done anything to help in that situation.. it was obvious a higher power was at work.
He walked over and brushed the black hair from the woman's face and continued. "Well it seems there should be 5 err... 'chosen ones' so... we gotta find tha other two...? Where to even start aye?"

This all sounded so ridiculous to Chuck... he couldn't believe it was real... maybe it was just trickery...then suddenly a... Man? Came out from deep within the shrine, he was dressed in black robes. Chuck Squinted trying to see who it was.

"Ahh... I see you all finally made it. Good! Now that we know our mission, let us be off, we have a light filled planet to destroy!"

That was all the strange man said before walking out from the shrine... well obviously he was one of their new 'partners'

"Err so... shall we follow?" Chuck asked the other two.

As Ezelus stood outside waiting, he remembered that there were only 4 members here at the shrine. from what he knew, this was meant to be a 5 man mission.

"Hmmm..one didn't make it in time... insolent fool!" he thought to himself, looking back at the other 3 following behind him.

as Vex, Chuck and Celestia walked out of the shrine to catch up with Ezelus, he turned to them and gave them all a piercing stare, then pointing his staff at them directly.

"Before we go anywhere, Your names. Who are you?" he asked them, hoping to get a glimpse of their personalities aswell, to judge how useful they would be to his plan.

Ezelus started by introducing himself, to give the impression that he had no 'hidden motives'.

"I, am Ezelus. Once a mage of the highest order in Relucesco, now tainted by the purest evil. That disgusting cheery planet sickened me, and being a scholar of sorts, was fascinated by the World Tree. I was swallowed towards the end of the war of the gods, and reincarnated as what you see before you. " He explained calmly, bowing his head in respect to his teammates...

Vex looked at Chuck as he suggested that they move out.

"Yes I do suppose the sooner we get moving, the sooner this might make more sense. I'm just glad I'm not the only one to be confused here. Though I have to say this doesn't suit with me. Though I am from Umbra, I just can't justify the death of an entire planet even if it means saving our own. There has to be another way to do something. Well until we find such means, there really is no choice but to collect these shards."

"Ahh... I see you all finally made it. Good! Now that we know our mission, let us be off, we have a light filled planet to destroy!" Vex heard these words and Chucks statement and shook his head and just said before walking out of the shrine. "Well if he's one of our teammates looks like he's just gonna be peachy to work with."

Getting out of the shrine he saw the man who introduced himself as Ezelus, only to here him say.

Taken back a bit by his tone and seemingly a little hostility he replied.

"My name is Vex, and if what you say is true then legends of our planet being one must be true as well. In that case there may be a way yet to...." Vex trailed short of finishing his statement now preoccupied in his thoughts again. Then thinking to himself "This one seems dead set on killing off the entire planet, yet it looks like all five of us are needed to get these shards. This is going to be an uneasy alliance, but maybe I can think of trying to sway his mind in hopes he won't be so dead set against killing off an entire planet."

Umbra[/center]

As Ferion's head was spinning he heard the voice that made him so dizzy he couldn't move again.
"My Chosen, you have arrived.

For years I have waited for you, trapped in this planet by my nemesis, and you have finally gathered before me.

After the voice was gone, Ferion could finally get up and see clearly again. Ferion looked around at the other people in the crowed, it seemed like very few people actually heard the voice, he then noticed a pack of travels that moved outside, Ferion slowly walked up to the these four people, his hands near his weapons not knowing anything about them.

"Greetings travelers my name is Ferion, forgive me for being being rude but did you four heard the voice also?" Ferion said not knowing if these were the four that the self proclaimed "god" of this world wanted to meet. Ferion still didn't really think the god's were powerful for all the lessions he heard from his master, but then again, he didn't wanna see either world destroyed, and the only way to save both worlds was to collect these shards he guessed. But for now Ferion decided to keep all these thought to himself till he got to know these four new companions better.
