FINAL FANTASY IX
Gaia's Fate

Before we begin...
OOC = Out Of Character
IC = In Character

Freya leaned against the wall, her trusty lance to her side.
The wind was picking up, her silver hair blew in the fercoious
weather and the rain poured down. Her hood covered her
eyes, but she could see through. She stared at Steiner and
Beatrix as they looked around the location. She just wanted
to be alone again, but it seems something knew had arrived.
Her attention grew to above her, where Eden was bright in the
sky, it looked like a planet, but they all knew it was a mothership.
Freya was silent, and didn't want to interrupt the others, but she
picked up her lance and edged away from the wall, she stepped
over towards the others, the only sounds were the thunder, rain
and her footwear. She joined Steiner and Beatrix on their search.
They found nothing, Burmecia was empty...

The rain continued for hours, and the sky was becoming
pitch black, the only light sources were the moon and Eden.
Freya sat, whilst Beatrix and Steiner were chatting in the
corner, how did they have time to chat? Freya laughed to
herself before turning her attention to outside, a group of
creatures prowled the streets. They were dark, and were
definitely predators.

"...hey, guys." Freya said.

Beatrix and Steiner turned around to face Freya, she pointed
outside. They looked and could see the pack moving around
the streets of Burmecia. She grinned, and her thirst for battle
shot up. Her adrenaline kicked in.

"Looks like we've got company tonight." She said readying
her lance. She stood.

OOC: If you are playing Steiner or Beatrix you start from here too.
If you are anyone else, you know where you start (I told you in the PM).

Quina stared up at Eden as it yet again dispersed some more creatures of the shadows. Eiko and Amarant both stood by Quinaas the trio stared up at Eden.

Quina leaned against the tree and dumped its body on the dusty soil.

"Eden, deadly but beautiful it looks.." said Quina staring up at Eden.

Quina
was thinking about what to say next. Quina stood back onto its feet and jogged over to a small bush.
"DonDon of Berries! These well go with bread my own!"

Quina picked some off the bush and popped them into a little bag made of leather.

He pulled out a few slices of bread an spread the DonDon berries on top of them.

" Eat. Eat. "
Quina said tapping Eiko and Amarant on the back.

They all took a slice and tuck in. This night was quiet.. too quiet.. All three of them rested in a nearby great oak tree. When there was a loud noise. Below the tree were a group of them, Predators.

Steiner, Pacing backwards and forwards along the narrow street. The rain pounding of his worn armour, he glanced back at his wife Beatrix also searching the street and Freya leaning against a wall, Freya seemed deep in thought.

Hmph! The nerve, Freya has a searching around like dogs and she sits there and does nothing!” mumbles Steiner

Steiner hears a noise from behind the stack of rubbish behind him. “h halt who goes there” exclaims stenier, his sword half drawn, with out warning a rat runs out from behind the rubbish. Steiner sighs a puts his sword away and glaces over at Beatrix who smiles back it him. Steiner walks over to Beatrix but is interrupted by Freya.

“..hey, guys,” Says Freya

Beatrix and Steiner turned around to face Freya who pointed outside. They looked and could see the pack moving around the streets of Burmecia. Steiner and Beatrix both draw their blades and run up to join Freya

The battle has begun” exclaimed Steiner.

"The battle has begun." exclaimed Steiner

Freya edged towards the creatures, she hoped for a pre-emptive strike for an enhanced fight, but the creatures spun round and leapt for the trio. Freya readied her lance whilst Steiner and Beatrix struck with their swords. Freya sprinted towards one of the creatures and launched it into the air, she leapt and slammed it to the ground, impaling it with her lance. She removed it and charged to the next. Beatrix swung again with her sword and Steiner did the same, another fell. Freya hit another and was helped by the others as they defeated them.

"...not bad, you need more practice." Freya said, grinning, adding, "Come on, let's go." Freya said, her arms crossed.

Freya put her lance behind her and walk ahead of the others. Steiner rolled his eyes to Beatrix who shrugged her shoulders, they walked towards her. Freya sensed something coming, and turned her head to the left.

"If we go that way, we're headed for disaster." Freya said, adding."We go that way. Danger is what we must rid." Freya said, charging.

Soren was walking about in Treno, the midnight city. Light never reached this town, as the mountain was always blocking it. This place was full of nobles and the poor. You were either rich and had what you want, poor and living off of luck, or a thief making good money from stealing.

Soren was walking and he headed into the auction house, just to watch the men and women bid over pointless things. Mostly it was the nobles that bid, and they wasted a lot of money, because usually, that item would be stolen anyway. In fact, most of these items were submitted by thieves that had stolen them in the first place. They were simply buying it back.

As the various rings, jewelry, and other such items went on sale, Soren did not contribute at all. He saw no point for it. Numbers were flying through the air, and he didn't even listen to them. He sat right down in a chair in the back of the room right near the door he had entered. He was relaxing, in a very lazy position. But he became bored of it very soon, and he walked right out of there and continued. He was looking for a job, or at least something to do. He was an assassin, he would fight anything given the right pay...

driving his sword in to the stomach of one of the beasts. Steiner, Freya and Beatrix pounce on the final beast bringing it to a quick death.

"...not bad, you need more practice." Freya said, grinning.
"What!?" Steiner asked.
"Come on, let's go." Freya said, her arms crossed.

reluctanctly, Steiner follows only to stop a few meters along the path.

"If we go that way, we're headed for disaster." Freya said.
"So...which way?" Beatrix asked.
"We go that way. Danger is what we must rid." Freya said, charging.

Steiner follows along side Freya his armour slowing hime down with every step, Freya and Beatrix begin shrinking into the distance.

"Freya, Beatrix STOP!!! please" pants Steiner too tired to carry on.

slumping to his knees. Reaching into his armour Steiner pulls out a small leather pouch, he removes the lid and chugs down the contents only to be stopped by an earth shattering thud.

Steiner freezes slowly turning his head to glance at the gigantic creature stood before him. The creature raises its massive foot as if too crush Steiner, only to be interrupted by Freya who plunges her spear deep into the creatures foot.

Beatrix helps Steiner up to his feet as Freya lands Beside them.

"Thankyou my Sweet" replies Steiner greatfully

"Quit the lovey, dovey crap..." Freya said, turning away.

Freya walked down the streets of Burmecia, leaving behind the others. She looked around, taking in the air. It was dark, alone and empty. She put out on hand as the rain poured onto it. She took a deep breath and turned to see the others walking her way.

"...to be forgotten, is worse than death." She mumbled, looking up at Eden.

Freya paced down the streets, followed by the others, she wasn't going to wait for them, she had her things to do. Sir Flatley was out there...she knew it, and she would find him. He's alive. She looked back to see Steiner running as fast as he could and Beatrix slowly ahead. The moon became even brighter as Eden edge in front of it. Freya felt a burning sensation in her neck, she turned around to see a Behemoth in the distance, it was dragging it's feet, ready to charge. It leapt high in the air.

"Heads up!" Freya shouted, spinning her lance around.

(OOC: Control my character's thoughts, actions or speech and I will NOT be pleased)

Anxiety gripped at the young girl's stomach as she glanced around her,
nervous at just what may happen. Zidane and Vivi, her friends and comrades
were nearby, but that did nothing to settle the fear in the pit of her stomach.
Sighing softly, she pressed a hand to her heart and closed her eyes. Just how
had it come to this? Gaia under threat? Why couldn't they just live in peace?
Was that so much to ask?

Opening her eyes slowly, Garnet turned to look at Zidane, a gentle smile
flitting across her fair face. Large eyes sparkled momentarily as she observed
his young face before her gaze shifted over and down to the black mage, Vivi.
Giving the mage a little smile and a nod of her head, her eyes glanced up
towards the sky. Alexandria castle loomed behind her, casting a foreboding
shadow over her, doing nothing to lessened the unease gripping at her gut.

"Why can't we just..." she paused and took a deep breath, hands shifting
on her magic rod. "Forget it. We're never going to be at peace..." The smile
that ghosted across her features was sad, her eyes a sea of sorrow. "It just
isn't fair..."

(short post but eh, hopefully people in my little group here in Alexandria will post soon D= )

(OOC: You wont be Vikki :D)

Freya swung her lance at the Behemoth as it attempted to land
on her, she leapt sideways out of the way and jumped onto
it's back impaling it, it spun around and grabbed her, throwing
her across the street. She landed on the ground, removing a
potion vial and drinking it, she span her lance around and charged
back to the Behemoth. It wouldn't get away. She leapt onto a
wall and leapt on top of a building before lunging onto the
Behemoth, it roared as she hit it with her lance. It endured much
pain as it fell to the ground. Freya flipped in front of it and come to
her feet dusting herself off.

"Don't mess with me..." She said, spitting at it.

She watched the others, and turned away. She continued down
the street, she decided to leave without them. They were too slow
for her. She shouted her apologises as she leapt out of the area.
Running along building tops, she watched Eden moved further away...it
was heading for Alexandria. Freya watched it edge away. She turned to
see more creatures growling at her.

"...back again, eh?" She asked, before jumping into battle.

" Eat. Eat. "

Amarant took a slice, but he mostly just picked at it instead of eating. The whole Eden business was bothering him. It wasn't so much that he really cared that Gaia was yet again under attack from a great threat, and needed heroes to save it from itself and so on and so forth. That was old news. What bothered him was that he couldn't figure out why they were here. Or where they came from. Or who controlled the beasts, and what their motive was. The creatures were obviously mindless drones. That's not to say they weren't intelligent. Some of them were downright cunning. Amarant bore a few recent scars that bore witness to their deviousness. But their only agenda was to attack and destroy. Thus, they were the shock troops, the initial surge intended to clear the way for those beings that were behind the operation. Whoever they were. The utter lack of information gnawed at Amarant's consciousness. The longer he went without knowing, the more sour his mood tended to be.

The other reason, the one he would fervently deny if asked outright about it, was that he was worried about Eiko. That was the reason he was now in Lindblum; he was there to check up on her. It wasn't that he didn't trust Cid and Hilda to look after her. He knew they were both capable, and had the entire fleet of Lindblum's airships at their disposal. He just ..... felt better being there to watch over her. The little pipsqueak had grown on him over the course of the years. He was pretty sure the others had seen his soft spot for her. Certainly Zidane had. The monkey-boy was preternaturally capable of reading Amarant. It was irritating beyond belief. But that didn't mean he had to admit to his concern for the young summoner.

When the noise sounded, Amarant hardly flinched. He calmly put his fork down, and with a surreptitious glance through the red locks covering his face, pinpointed the location of the three beasts approaching where the three of them sat. In a twinkling he pushed himself up and away from the tree, leaped into the air, and threw a pinwheel at one of the wolf-like creatures. The projectile struck home, embedding itself in the neck area, likely slicing an artery or two, and crumpling the beast immediately. As he landed, Amarant quickly equipped his claw weapon and braced for the attack from the remaining beasts.

Stealing a glance backward, he checked to see if Quina and Eiko were planning on joining him the fight. He was torn. He knew they were both capable in battle, and could not only hold their own, but prove to be valuable assets. But the whole reason he had come to Lindblum was to watch over Eiko. And Quina was important to Eiko, therefore it was important to Amarant.

That damn Zidane. This is his fault. Making me care.

Amarant braced as the two beasts attacked him simultaneously.

Quina watched the two beasts attack Amarant. Quina jumped up and pulled out his Forks.

"Eiko, behind me get! Let them not take magic yours!"
Quina said to Eiko.

Quina lunged at the first beast with his forks. The beast flinched and counter-attacked. Quina was sent flying against the tree.

"S-S-Shigleberries.." Quina was about to swear but forgot what the word was.

He got back onto his feet. He watched Amarant and Eiko fighting the two creatures. Quina looked closely. He saw the way that Amarant looked at Eiko. To him she wasn't just a friend.

Quina lunged full speed at the beast at the front. One more hit would do the trick. Quina threw his fork at the beast once more.

It always made Quina sad when s/he killed an animal. It was beautiful in many ways though. The creatures smash into a hundred crystals and fly into Eden once more.

The second beast also turned into crystal and flew back up to Eden.

"Ever wonder you, that beast things Eden from are life giving?" Quina asked the others.

Quina couldn't wait till we all met up with the others.

OOC: How am I doing, considering this is my first ever RP!

(OOC: Not bad.)

Freya had finished her quick fight, and didn't even break a sweat. She put her lance on her back and continued through the desolate streets. She had to find Zidane and the others, they were in Alexandria and had no idea what was coming there way.

"I must go...I must save them."

She leapt up to the city wall and flipped over it, landing on her feet she continued to run. Thoughts of Steiner and Beatrix in Burmecia was running by, why did she leave them. Freya set for Alexandria, hoping it would be a short journey. But she knew the length of the risks.

"What about Eiko? Quina? Amarant? What if they're in danger, what if they take Garnet? Harvest her magic...and Vivi, what if-- no, Freya...don't think about it..." She said to herself adding, "To Alexandria...to save the day."

Eden released a loud noise, it was opening...the time had come, she watched as tiny crystals containing creatures were scattered around Gaia and what looked like a Behemoth heading for Alexandria.

"Princess!" She shouted.

Vivi walked around Alexandria. The city was still in ruins, and Vivi was trying his best to help out.
Just then, Vivi spotted some little girls playing in a dangerous area. He walked over to them

Uh.....you girls really shouldn't be playing over there. You might um, ah, get hurt.
The girls just ignored Vivi and continued doing what they were doing.

Vivi continued his walk around the city. He ran into one of the moogles.
Well, well, if it isn't little Vivi.
Uh, hi. What is going on, I haven't seen any of you walking around the city lately.
Oh, nothing much. I thought I would see how the restoration was going. Ta Ta.

Vivi, waved bye to the moogle, and continued on his way.

OOC: sorry if controlling an NPC is not allowed, if so it won't happen again.

(OOC: Controlling an NPC isn't allowed, nor another character. And your post is far too short. You need to make your posts longer and more maybe add some more effort. But it was good start.)

Freya was heading towards Alexandria, she'd been running for hours, her legs were going to break and she needed to rest. She sat on a rock, where she had sat before on her journeys and took another vial of potion. It was disgusting, but it needed to be taken. Freya came to her feet, she was ready to run. She leapt off the rock, and she did, a new group of creatures appeared. These were Shadow Fiends, they would only attack at night. The sky was black and Eden was bright, meaning these fiends were able to approach. The first growled furiously and jumped at Freya.

"Not--yet!" Freya shouted as she swung her lance towards it, knocking it back. Another charged towards her and she hit it with her weapon. Before flipping back onto the rock and another creature attempting to wound her, she jumped high into the air. Her lance was set, and so was her target. She brought down harmful force onto a Shadow Fiend, causing it to disappear into a smoky silhouette and heading to Eden. Freya took out another, but as she did, she was hit, she flew from the rock to a wall, she got up as quick as she could, and attacked the nearest Shadow Fiend, adding. "Goodnight!"

The battle was over, and Freya continued running. Alexandria was in her sight, and tonight, she would arrive. She would help Zidane, Vivi and Garnet. Freya didn't want to think about...the place up there, and decided to take it off her mind. But something worse came into mind. Her memories of Sir Flatley
were coming back, and she fell to the ground. Forcing herself not to cry, all hope was lost she was struck by sadness. Crying to herself.

"Please...please." She sobbed. Her lance dropping to the ground.

Zidane heard soft, abrely audible yet beautiful singing and glanced at the sky as he listened to the melody drifting around his senses. It seemed to be a beautiful day, yet night was fast approaching, and Garnet, one of the best friends... for want of a better word, he ever had, seemed ill at ease. He looked at her compassionately, and wanted to ask her what was wrong, but then she looked at him with a small smile and glittering eyes. He smiled back at her.

The words he were going to say died on his lips as he looked at his two friends, Garnet and Vivi. If Garnet was worried, he was too. He might be a little sarcastic at the best of times, but when one of his friends was disturbed, he was unnerved too. And Garnet's words did nothing to alleviate that.

The short, slender teenager put a single hand on Garnet's as she worried that they would never experience peace. He smiled at her as he held her hand tightly. Hoping against hope that she wouldn't pull away from him.

"Of course we'll be at peace someday," he said in what he thought was a comforting voice. "It might not be today, or tomorrow, or the next day, but maybe the next day!" He then tried at humour. "Four days is usually enough. I hope it is. I have an appointment on Friday!" He beamed at Garnet cheesily.

OOC: No literary masterpiece but I'll get better :hmmm:

Freya slipped into a deep sleep, she'd had enough...who could blame her? She just been running miles and just had a long, exhausting fight. She needed the rest, but where she had decided to rest, was a bad idea. Lying in the open field, asleep, Freya began to dream.

"...and tonight, my fair lady, we shall dance!" Sir Flatley said.
"Dance!? I don't know how to --" Freya replied, before being swept off her feet.
"Follow my routine!" He said, swooping around. Freya was laughing in his arms.

Freya and Sir Flatley danced around the room for hours, everything just went away, he was with her...and they just danced. Freya was so happy, she'd never been so happy. And it was saddening her. Freya was enlightened by her savours presence as he took her by the hand and danced some more.

"You know, I really do love you Miss Crescent." Sir Flatley admitted.
"I. Love. You. Too!" Freya said, being swung around.
"I'll always be here for you, I'll never let you be alone." He replied.
"...I know, uh...can we stop?" Freya asked, the lights dimmed and Sir Flatley faded.

Freya woke up, in the open air. It was calm and nothing was around, she came to her feet. Dusting her self off. She picked up her lance, and decided not to think about her dream, she knew that Sir Flatley would come, one day...he'd come. Freya continued running, almost near Alexandria.

Soren, who had left the auction house, was not sure of where he was to go to next, so he decided to walk through the area. There smell of drunken people was abundant in the slums, and that happened to be where he was walking. He did not much like the smell, but there was nothing else he could do about it. He just sucked it up and kept on walking.

He decided on a game of cards. He walked into a building that was much cleaner and had a clean smell, and he got his deck ready. He was an average player in reality, but he enjoyed a good play here and there.

OOC:Time frame hustle

IC: Game after game, it was a 50% win rate for him. He was not pleased, nor was he angered. He hadn't lost his best cards, so he was ok with it. With this, he left the building. He had enough with the cards and wanted something else to do, so he headed over to the weapon shop, where he would fight a monster that was always replaced in there for the owners entertainment.
