Watched the trailer yesterday and it looks utterly amazing.

Looks like wer gunna have a new main character in the third installment which makes sense if youv played the previous 2 games.

What struck me was the use of real people instead of cinematics. I wonder if the whole games gunna be like that? You can see that when your holding your gun in game its a real persons hands and a real gun. Very clever idea imo, heres hoping itl work. The graphics look immense aswell, and by that i mean the enemies in the game and the scenery. Obviously theyre not real.

Resistance has alwyas had excellent gameplay and storyline, the multiplayer was decent aswell though when you compared it to the likes of call of duty it didnt really stand up in terms of excitement. But many aspects of it were fantastic, like you could create your own online public game using whichever preferances you wanted. Grenade only, snipe only etc etc Or search for games in a similar fashion.
So im hoping that theres really been a lot put into the multiplayer to make it stand up to the likes of call of duty. Resistance has far more potential than any other fps when it comes to creativity. As the timeline is alternate its not bound by the law of 'keeping it realistic' when it comes to weapons killstreaks etc.

scheduled for a 2011 release.

Heres the trailer for those interested. Its epic :gasp:

I was not expecting a trailer like that it certainly was different in I can't wait for this game to come out kind of way. There are some great looking weapon's but I want to see if they are still using the L23 Fareye or a new type of sniper rifle. After the great storyline's the first two had am curious as where this one will be set or if the location keeps changing.

Theyre on a boat in the video so they may be travelling somewhere. Russia is a possible setting for the game seeing as thats where the chimera came from. It was set in the united kingdom in resistance 1 then america in the 2nd wasnt it :hmmm:
The fareye was an awesome sniper rifle, loved playing sniper only death matches on multiplayer in resistance 1.
The trailer certainly does the job though, im dead excited about it :gasp:

Yeah thats why I was thinking it might be set somewhere else but still it could be set in America again but Russia does seem more likely.

The trailer certainly does the job though, im dead excited about it :gasp:

Tell me about it I have been waiting so long to see a trailer about that one day I saw a stupid trailer on telly for a film and thought it was about Resistance 3 cause it had alien ships that looked like the ones the chimera use and I was really disappointed when I the name of the film came up at the end.

I see the chimera are still making advanced technology and monsters but I still hope there is a bit in the game where you get cornered by Grims and you only have a shotgun something like in the 2nd in I think it was Orick

Yeah Lew you told me about Resistance so im going to the gamestore later on today and I'll buy Resistance 1 for 5 bucks (2nd handed) and Resistance 2 for 15 bucks (2nd handed)...2 games for 20 bucks is ace. :griin:

Clerkin you also seem to like these games..so I cant wait to play them.

Yeah I saw this trailer a while ago and found the beginning very spooky :P

AT LAST!

FINALLY! it's been killing me waiting for #3 to come out. both were epic! i also have retribution for psp. that was kinda neat. but yeah. now us playstation people have games that beat the shit out of the gears of war series for 360. we got resistance, and killzone. hope resistance 3 comes out very soon. can't wait. those are very good purchases ohri-jin.

August, 1957. America is lost. Four years after the end of the critically-acclaimed Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli has given up fighting the Chimeran menace. Now he’s in hiding with other survivors, including his wife and young son. But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with the opportunity to deliver a blow to the occupying Chimeran force, Capelli must leave his family and journey the harrowing road from Oklahoma to New York City. Along the way, he’ll encounter the remnants of humanity left in the aftermath of the brutal Chimeran invasion.

Powered by InsomniacGames’ fifth-generation PlayStation 3 technology, Resistance 3 portrays Capelli’s heroic survival inside the brutal Resistance world. Featuring new upgradeable weapons, the return of the weapon wheel, two-player online or split-screen campaign co-op and a progression-based multiplayer experience, Resistance 3 delivers a heroic-yet savage first-person shooter experience for PlayStation 3.

Just a summary of what the game will have and where it will be set. I am looking forward to it being set across America which will hopefully give the game a lot of different terrain to explore and new Chimera to face. I like that you can upgrade the weapons so it will be interesting to see how good the upgraded weapons will be but at least they have the weapon wheel back so that means plenty of good weapons at once.

Well that was a bit of info released by Insomniac so there should really be no spoilers for anyone who hasn't played the Resistance 2 as it doesn't mention the events of R2 it just states that it is Capelli in this one, how it's been since the events of R2 and a couple of features the game will have.

I was a big fan of the original. Not so much the second one though. Fortunately, EGM confirmed that the weapon wheel will be back, and that's all I need to know.

Insomniac releases the first in a series of Resistance 3 developer diaries

Insomniac has released the first in a series of developer diaries for Resistance 3 focusing on various elements and a wide range of topics regarding the game.

resistance35.jpg

Each were shot in the Resistance 3 war-room, which gives you an idea of the main room at Insomniac studios that “lays out the entire R3 single-player campaign experience,” and a room in which any person at the company can “go to and get an up-to-date picture of what will be happening at any moment in the game.”

The firm, has blurred the backhground out a bit so as not to giv away too much of the game, though.

Enjoy the first dev diary below.

Resistance 3 is out September 6 in the US and September 9 in the UK.
