Anyone planning on getting it?

So far the gameplay looks pretty tight! The multiplayer mode reminds me a bit of Uncharted 2 but maybe a little better...? I mean you get to ride horses! I can't wait for this game, although a bunch of my cousins are wanting me to get it for XBox since they wanna play online with me, but then again...I like my PS3 buddies too. :hmmm: We shall see. Most likely I'll get it for PS3 though. So who's getting it and what do you guys think so far? Any high expectations or anything else to share?

I really want to get it. I love Rockstar made games anyway but the gameplay and multiplayer aspects look like they have a lot of depth and will be loads of fun if people on the forum also get the game. Maybe I can join in like people do for UC2... but I don't have that game and I'm missing out. :sad3: And no one plays MW2 apart from 2 people I know these days.

Also, the story looks pretty interesting. If it's anything like GTA, it'll be really compelling and the voice acting will be top notch.

Bring it on I say.

Talked about this one with Jeff, and I'm most likely gonna get it as well.

Gameplay reminds me of Uncharted 2 as well, and hell yeah, horse back riding! :lew:

Looks fairly nice to me, and definitely worth the try, imo.

Amen to the bring it on, I'm waiting on it. xD

ooooooooh, i like the look of this.

i reckon i'll probably get it. it does kinda look like uc2 online but by the looks of things aiming doesnt require so much...skill? :lew:

im gonna keep an eye out for this :hmmm:

:8F:

Oooh, it looks neaaaaaaaaaaaat ! xD

Wouldn't mind trying this game out. From what I saw, it looks entertaining :ryan: PS3 for me :monster: of course. I'm sure it'll be a good game. Looks interesting.

Like the southern touch to it though looks awesome x]

and horses FTW! xD

I've pre-ordered a copy. Hope that Rockstar puts in more variety in this one than GTA4. Ended up getting bored by the constant 'go-there-kill-this guy' missions.
Wonder how they will incorporate music in-game? Gramophones?

I'm normally a big fan of sandbox games with huge environments to look around and explore. Hopefully this is no exception and it's certainly a change to the games I normally see from Rockstar. I think it would be awesome to just ride a horse aimlessly across a western desert.

From what I've heard of the wanted system, it sounds sophisticated. Apparently you can have a bounty on your head for the entire duration of the game if you're not careful. Though I can probably see a few annoyances with that, it does make it seem like a genuine wild west thriller.

I probably won't be getting this yet. Besides I'm not even 18 yet - although I don't give a damn about ratings. Right now Just Cause 2 is keeping me busy. xD

* Can lasso and hogtie other players

** A bull is unlockable

Taken from the the list linked above...but OMG!? ROFL! I can see that going so wrong. I already know who I'm hogtying on day one. :griin:

I. AM. GETTING. THIS. THE. DAY. IT. COMES. OUT.

The gameplay and the graphics just looks really spectacular and the fact that it has a great pedigree (created by Rockstar San Diego) is only a plus. I'm intrigued by all the things you can get to do in the game like hunting bears for pelts, hogtying wanted criminals instead of killing them, and of course the now ubiquitous karma system is really intriguing to me.

The good thing is is that the game comes out THE DAY I get out of school for the semester. :kinky:

I think I'm going to pre-order it. I found out that if you do, depending on what retailer you get it from, you get a little something extra. I'll probably get from GAME because they give a badass costume that restores your 'dead eye' meter... which will... it looks badass so I'll do it anyway. :mokken:

xD Pre-order it, Ewan! I did too.

I'm not sure if we get a special edition with it, but oh well, at least I'll have it. xD

The donkey/mule is too damn cute! I want it! LOL.

I'm really looking forward to this game once again. I'm really hoping the camera options are the same as they are for Uncharted 2, with the inverted camera - left is right right is left, down is up, and up is down.

I'm weird, but I suck at the standard camera stuff, and it really is a big turn off for a game I really want. =/ So I hope those options are there, I'm a horrible shooter but I'm a bit better if the camera is set like that. xD

The little characteristics for the horses are amazing. xD They look so pretty, and how you can summon your own horse is so cool! :lew:

Looks like a really fun free roam game in my opinion.

I haven't seen female playable characters yet... o_O I hope there are... like... I really hope so.

Ya can even lasso horses, and capture them! :awesome: Pretty horse collection here we come! :ryan:

You can play as female characters online. In the online gameplay video I think it was, it shows female characters when going through the posse part. xD

I'm waiting for reviews, after GTAIV I generally have no faith in Rockstar whatsoever so I'm going to need some impressive reviews to get me to buy it. All being, another factor would be if a lot of people here purchase it, then I'd get it for the online. :monster:

One of the things you’ve obviously noticed while perusing through the many screens and videos of Red Dead Redemption, are all the different mounts you can attain or tame within the game. These mounts are the result of motion captures taken of a Hollywood stunt horse named Blanco, along with meticulous research on equine muscle and skeletal structure, as well as horse breeds like the Mustang and Friesian. This neat bit of information was revealed through Rockstar’s art department director, Josh Bass, over on Gamespot.

It’s a rather interesting read that reveals the different movements obtained through the mo-cap process, along with how the team strived for absolute realism in the way the tack looks and moves while being worn by your mount. We’ll see how it all came together once the game’s released next week.

In the meantime, check out the screens below.

Tap that ass, seabass. :monocle:
