From a scale of 1 to 10 rate your intelligence.
This isn't about any specific field of study, field of knowledge or whatever. It's about general stuff including academics, streetsmarts, and whatever else you can put in.

I'll actually go ahead and say that my intelligence is somewhere around 7 and 8. I'm pretty smart, I answer tons and tons of trivia (note: extra credit), and actually want to participate in Jeopardy someday. :3
On the other hand, I'm pretty bad with the streetsmarts and stuff. I usually find something out a couple of days after it was circulated about but that's only because I keep to myself most of the time and don't hang out with huge crowds.

Now you. :3

For me it really does depend on the field. I know things that I don't need to know at all, and I have a pretty good long term memory which is useful.
But I find it hard to remember important things for exams and stuff, and my common sense is very low. xD
About 7 or 8 I'd say.

Regarding common sense, I can be a fool. :wacky:
But academically I'm about an 8. I know that I can do better, but I'm terribly lazy and I have awful study habits. If I don't study at all for a class, I usually scrape by with a B- or C+, simply because I'm good at retaining information. Being lazy, and knowing this, I usually skip studying and just wing it because I know that I'll pass. Not good.

I really need to start getting into the habit of actually studying for classes before I ship off to college, or I'm going to end up getting my ass kicked out...

It varies for me. Typically, I'm one of those bookworms and would recite phrases over and over any time of day when it deals with academic stuff. So I guess that's a rating of 7 or 8. I can be very focused when it deals with my studies, since I have enough motivation to last me a lifetime.

But when it comes to streetmarts and common sense, er, probably a 6 or 7. I'm not saying a complete fool, but close to that, I suppose. =/

I take more pride in my intelligence than common sense, but I'd say the latter was higher up in the scale.

Without being arrogant an' what-not, I'd say I'm about an 8 on the scale. The numbers are too low... as for common sense, I'd say 9.

I'm quite smart considerng my age. I'de say i've got a rating of 8.5 overall.

On the other hand, if you want my IQ, that would be 130 exactly

Well we all view intelligence differently.... Age, booksmarts, common sense, choices you make, etc.

As for booksmarts....I'm not that smart with it comes to book smarts. =/ I never did well in school do to the language barrier. Also I hated reading when I was in high school. Which is why I'm trying my now best to improve on grammar and English. Not sure what to rate myself there.

As for common sense, common knowledge, picking up on things I would say an 8.

I'd position myself on the 7-8 intelligence level. I have a few things I'm good at and a few thing I suck at. And the rest plain medium.

Like others, it depends for me. I SUCK at history, I HATE history. I scraped by all my history classes with no better than an 89, scored something like 558/600 on the Social Studies section of the GHSGT (and within that section made like a 76% on history). As far as memorizing names and dates, probably a 4 or 5. But when it comes to formulas and stuff that require me to think mathematically, I'd give myself a 7 or 8. I pick up on math usually the first try, I can do basically anything less complicated than AP Calculus in my head.

You can not say "I am smart" just like that. To prove your intelligence, you need an IQ test. Only in that way you can prove yourself to be smart.

Jeremiah, TV-Realities are tricked. You should know that since you're smart :D. Before you go on stage, they always take a personality test to know you better. And of course, if you're too smart they won't pick you or they will lose a lot of money :P.
You want proof? Ever noticed that in "Are you smarter than a 5ft grader", no one ever won? The questions are fucking easy and I can answer them. But they know that the participents will never win so that's why they pick suckers.

My intelligence is...

-1. lol.

It really all depends, but for the most part I'd definitely say I have more street-smarts and common sense then I do book-smarts.

I never really excelled at school or studying, especially in mathematics which was my worst subject. Anyway, I had decent grades as well as the occasional A, but nothing honors worthy. So, book-smarts, I'd have to say a 6 or 7.

Now as for street-smarts and commonsense, I'd like to think I have both in abundance, which for the most part and without trying to sound too arrogant, I do. As for ratting them, I'd say I'm a good solid 8...

You can not say "I am smart" just like that. To prove your intelligence, you need an IQ test. Only in that way you can prove yourself to be smart.

Uh, no. I know people with high IQs that I wouldn't...um...exactly classify as "smart." Those tests are about weird pattern solving; I don't really see how they measure intelligence.

Heh, it's interesting that everyone always thinks that they're really intelligent (including me). I guess we're not a modest bunch XD

Anyway, there are so many different types of "smarts," it's hard to rate myself. I'd say in book smarts (excluding science <_<) I'm an 8 or 9. As for common sense....I don't really know. I can sometimes have a lot of common sense and then at other times, none at all. It depends on the situation. So...I guess I would be about a 7 in the common sense department. I sometimes am too emotionally driven to take a step back and have some common sense ;(

9/10 The only true minus in my life is Math. I hate it and suck at it. I'm pretty good at remembering different animals and their latin names. However I still can't say the latin name for Koala...
Phascolarctos Cinereus... But I am getting close at times. The second thing is lenguages. I can communicate with a person who's Irish (Gaelic Lenguage) English, Russian, Spanish and Polish. At the moment I'm learning Japaneese^_^ I can also sing, but that's different story... Oh yeah I can cook pretty tasty food too. I love to write my own stories or even books! i don't recall myself intelligent at that but people say so :P :P

I have a 115 IQ but then i did it another time and it was 126......i dunno, i know i'm fairly intelligent, I always did well at school, although I'v never been the studious type, but i passed my exams got A to C grades (apart from IT & technology - i'd get -10 for those) but I can be really thick sometimes and common sense....what's that? I also know eff all about IT (I failed miseably at that) so i'd have to say my intelligence lingers around a 6 or a 7. I'm only good at what I like. English & Art & drinking mostly

To be quite honest tho, I think just I test well, and the one of 115 is prob more accurate as it was under timed conditions lol. I know what I need to know and I get by just fine (until my pc acts up and I have to get help lol)

The average of the three IQ tests that I have taken is 142. I have pretty good skills at working out problems and finding a solution. That being said, I think I will rate my own intelligence.

Booksmarts-Math and science being my first loves (besides bowling and video games) I would rate myself a 9.5 in mathematics and an 8.6 in the overall field of science. History is probably my worst subject. I can't remember dates for shit and I can't really remember everything that happened on a particular date. I would give myself a 2 or 3 in the field of history. English is my second worst subject. Now, I can speak English very well, however I couldn't tell you what category a word falls into i.e. conjunctions, superlatives, past participles and the like. I would give myself a 3-3.8 in the field of English.

Streetsmarts-I can't figure people out. I can't tell you how to make a bomb out of an apple. I can't hotwire a car. I'm not a good thief. I'm not a good liar. I can however make a bomb with gunpowder and a pipe. I can shoot a gun, but chances are I won't hit whatever I was aiming at. I would give myself a 1.5-2.7 in the overall field of streetsmarts.

you are really that smart?

Yes. I tend to agree with the results of my IQ tests. I blame my smartness on being a gamer for 22 years.

King Bullet, I had to delete a couple of your posts as they are spammy. If you have any questions, you can always PM one of the staff here and ask for guidance as to how a forum works in general. =)

Anyway, carry on, guys.

Saix Edit: dimmufan's response was removed also. For the making of sense. :monster:

Gosh. It really varies for me. I have almost no general knowledge, at all, but that's more because I don't watch tv, listen to the radio or read the newspaper. However, at school I don't fare too badly at all. I do have to revise to get decent grades, but memory and intelligence are different.

I suppose I underestimate myself, though. I've been told I do. Even though I get Bs and Cs in lesson work, I get As and Bs in exams. I can't be too bad. xD

I can't give an accurate rating out of 10.

Well I did read out most of the library back when I was little...
And I do have some street smarts... (since I like to hang around after dark)
I also pick up random facts fairly easily as they interest me. That said I lack the attention to do really great things, but then I have no interest in being a really brainy person. If something interests me, fair enough. Otherwise... no dice.

But I think it wise to say that for all I know about the world, I know nothing. While there are things I can feel very strongly are accurate, pretty much everything is impossible to prove. We can disprove enough things to come to the conclusion that something is 'true', but it's never fully certain. That's why I know that I know nothing. ^_^
