Posting of large posts

Has anybody run into the cannot connect to site, while trying to post a large post? I ran into it today. So I made the post in segments and it seemed to work. Any input on this was be appreciated.

I saved what I posted so I didnt lose it.
 
It happened before to me, however not(in my case) because my post was too long I think..post count has a limit..and it would not type anymore letters..
 
It hasn't happened to me, no. And I'm on one shitty, old computer so it's probably nothing to do with computer age. Is your connection/router good?
 
How large are we talking about? It sometimes has to do with your connectivity to the actual site as opposed to the site's bandwidth. Meaning if I'm running on a T3 line right now, while folks at home are using 56k on occasion or cheaper dsl it's possible there could be a packet loss and you'll lose connectivity without you realizing. Hince DSL is often time frowned upon when gaming.

Meaning static as opposed to non static internet connections.
 
I never encountered this problem til today. It may not have to do with size of post because it happened with a one line post a bit ago. It could be an issue with bandwidth. But I cannot just point it to anything specific. Yes, it could be my service.
 
I've not come across this myself, but i'd not be amused if I had, seen as I recently posted in the sleeping forest. :hmph:

Anyway, I don't know if this is related or not but a few people (myself included) had a problem getting on last night, I was getting a database error for about 15 - 30 mins and after it loaded it was being awfully slow. :hmmm:

Yep. I was trying to post an RP Bio that was about 7 pages long in a Word document. Had to break it up into two chunks to get it to post. Then I tried to merge the two posts, and it wouldn't even let me do that. Then about a month later, I went back and merged them no problem. So it just seems to be the site getting finicky.

Mits and I tried to figure it out for about 3 or 4 hours, off and on, but with no luck. So the only thing I can say is... I have no idea.
 
I had this happen to me too with a long post. Today when trying to post the second chapter of my story it just loaded up with a white screen and refused to post it until I divided it (and I really don't feel like doing this for every long chapter) when I was under the impression there was no character limit. Did this to me in both Google Chrome and SeaMonkey.

FYI the characters in Chapter Two overall is 53,281
