There are too few posts.
I personally think the area that gets the most attention should have the requirement raised to 100 post instead of 50 to encourage posts.

I think 50 is a reasonable limit. Keep in mind that it's not easy to find a topic to post in, it can often take me days and days to get to that amount.

50 is a reasonable amount considering that some times it can take days to go through 50 posts and others it can only take a matter of hours, it is all dependant on how many people are active and where you are posting.

But by encouraging people to post then you are essentially encouraging a lot of people to spam or just post for the sake of it.
If people have something to say in a thread, then the chances are that they will post in it. Likewise, if they don't have input to make then they (presumably) wouldn't post anyway, so it wouldn't really make a difference if you raised the limit or not.

I think it would depend on what section was raised to 100. If it was the RPG, then I'd be inclined to agree in raising it from 50 to 100. However, when it comes to deciding on how many posts should be allowed for the RPG...it's really comes down to what the RPG mods want.

But again, it's completely dependent on what section it is.

Personally, I'd prefer us to lower the count for the RPG from 50 to 25.

Why?

Having the post count requirements encourages spam, and it creates a lot of bother for us staffers. One guy and his friends once had a once sided conversation in a FFI thread to hit the 50+ post count. Took me ages to clean up D=

I agree with Dory because im new to the site and its hard to get to fifty posts. I think spamming is WAY bad but the limit tends to give people no choice... But im being patient and not spamming the site cuz its annoying

That's our job, though. :wacky:

That said, I suppose I could support a reduction in initial accumulated posts but this is more down to the fact that some newer members could be discouraged from staying around on the site if they have to "buy" their way into the RPG.

True... but either way I like it at this board and its ran way better than almost all the forums i've been to. So ive made this place my new home and will work my way up to the elusive 50post requirement so i can see this Mysterious RPG. * jumps up and down anxiously*

Isn't the reason of the post limit to make sure people don't just join so that they can play the rpg?
If so, wouldn't lowering the post limit have a negative effect. Also isn't it supposed to be a priviledge rather than a right?
Furthermore increasing the number of posts required puts emphasis on quantity rather than quality, and if you think there are too few posts dlain, you could always make some threads, thus causing more people to post.
One further point if I may, that no one intelligent would bother trying to spam to get 50 posts, as they would just be deleted.
That's all:elmo:

You do post some good points.
But members are just building to 50 then slowing down to a crawl in posting, which makes it hard for the post count to grow. Now if the count was raised, then more people would have to posts these posts would make it easier to obtain posts.

The reason I rarely post is, because I tend to have views no one agrees with.

People tend forget that if someone is caught posting spam for the sole purpose of joining the RPG they either:
A) Get banned from the game.
B) Their post count gets reset.

Still they ignore this warnings. I guess it can't be helped -__-

In that case, shouldn't you just go whinge at those people who aren't posting? Increasing the amount would probably just discourage people entirely.
