I know it's hard...

But please stop picking the game apart before it is already released!

I'm really looking forward to getting to play the game when it is released next month, but people are putting it down, like it is gonna be like FFXII, but I really think people should stop pre-judging it unless they have actually played it.

The story and characters look good and the battle system and graphics look amazing. And I'm getting annoyed with the whole "CGI slowed the process of the game coming out" or "Leona Lewis' song for the game just doesn't fit", it's like people are just looking for problems now.

If it turns out that all of these opinions actually are correct and I find the game not to my expectations, I will come back with a big fat apology, but until then, please stop with the nit-picking??

Thanks :)

You can't stop people posting about it, and if you dont like what you read...dont read it

I hardly ever look in the news threads because I want to form my own opinion of the game, and as for other threads if people are voicing an opinion, well, it's just that. Nowt you can do about it

People are ALWAYS gunna pre-judge things

I am sorry, but we cannot do that. This game has been highly anticipated and we must voice our opinions based on any information that we get. All the info that's coming in has garnered mixed results from the fans. To put it blunt, the game is not what most people expected. Linearity, among other things have garnered negative reviews. I personally think this should stop, too, but I also don't want it to stop. I could help me save some money or expect what's coming.

That is true. ^^ You can ask/beg/plead but not everyone's going to have the same thoughts/opinions as you may have and you can't force someone to do something when really it's just how they see it. As Smith said, people are always going to pre-judge it's natural. I would also like to play the game first-hand then say how I feel about it as well however, if someone were to disagree with what I say about the game whatever that's their issue not mine i'm still going to want the game even if people say it's the worst game ever. Because in my eyes, I might have different feelings. This is the newest FF out there and there's alot of FF fans out there and of course they might buttheads with one another. Like for instance FFVII fans (thought it was better) VS. VIII fans (thought it was better) I know that i'm stubborn as hell you ain't gun change my mind. You can try but you will :fail: :mokken: Some FF fans might like XIII some might not based on what they heard/seen.

I am one of the ones that have started threads about the game and what aspects of it I think will suck. But why are you upset about this? I can pre-judge a game as much as I want to. You're still going to buy it, you're still going to play it, and you are still going to form your own opinion on the game. We want to talk about the game because we've been waiting 4 long years for it. Whether it's positive or negative, we want to discuss.

I know I'm definitely one of these people who as you put it, seem to be "picking the game apart", but we do have a good reason why we're doing this. I know I haven't played the game yet, but I know enough to form an important early judgement to decide whether or not the game itself will be worth my time.

If you don't like these negative comments about it so far, that's absolutely fine. You don't have to read them and let them sway you because at the end of the day, what I don't like may be something you adore, or vice versa. Don't forget there have also been plenty of praise towards the game.

As for your point about the CGI and Leona Lewis song, that's mainly criticism fired at Square Enix, not necessarily the game itself.

I guess it's everyone's opinion at the end of the day, but it seems that since Square-Enix has taken over the whole FF thing, people are always expecting the games to fail. Maybe it will, I don't know, but I just think everyone is looking for something to go wrong, as the games being released aren't like the old ones in the Squaresoft days. Maybe I'm being naive =/

about the whole square-enix taking over the series... aren't Squaresoft and Square-Enix essentially the same company? Aren't the same creators making the game? I'm confused by all this... people have been complaing about square-enix.. i thought they were the same company.

I think the main problem is that it works both ways, I don't mind when people pick at the game if it's a logical statement. I'll take Tsukianei for example (sorry :wacky:), he's seen and read enough of the game to make a solid opinion that he probably won't like it which is perfectly acceptable, it's people who don't know much about the game and criticise it that annoy me >.> All being said it can work the other way, people who don't like it probably get annoyed at people who don't know much about the game but still praise it like it's the best game ever. It's not something that can really be helped I suppose, everyone will make a prejudgement on FFXIII since it's one of the biggest releases in Q1.

Square are the same but Enix and Soft aren't. Square originally merged with Soft and made a series of Final Fantasy titles but when they were having money problems they split (I think after the release of The Spirits Within). Then Square merged with Enix and made the current set of games with "Square-Enix" on the front.

wait...so square and soft were separate companies? so it wasn't just a wierd engrish name...

at some point in game discussions (or any discussion) a sort of group mentality is formed and the opinions of the group tend to start veering towards what the majority thinks, or what the vocal minority is saying...at least until they try it themselves. it's the nature of fans to talk in anticipation, so why not let them? :) half the hate about the game will likely disappear when it's released. keeping expectations low by putting the game down before playing it is one of the strategies RPG players use to get more enjoyment from their games; the lower the expectation of greatness, the lower the disappointment if it flops, and the higher their enjoyment if it's good.

We wish we could stop nit-picking in general. That's our problem, we see something and have the terrible habit of pointing out the flaws in EVERYTHING! :rage:

As most of you know, we do not like this game. (A little too early for the "h" word, but in time, we can guarantee it will be used.) They've completely changed everything that we've come to know and love about this game.

In our opinion, everything that made the FF series different, unique, and fun, was thrown out of the window for more cash. :mokken:

And it's working of course, you have people coming to play this game who've never played an FF before, and probably won't touch an FF that came out before FFXIII.

We think the game is too linear. We judge this from map scans, livestreams, the demo, youtube videos, word of mouth, good reviews, average reviews, and just plain bad reviews. They all touch up on this subject. We miss the days when you walked out of a town and were able to walk around on the world map and explore what you could see. It could lead you to exciting mini-games, hidden bosses, and side quests. (By the way, FFXIII is missing all of those. :sad3:)

The "no-towns" argument. At first glace, this is the dumbest thing anyone could ever read. However, look at it like this: Remember those times you would run into town, buy items, sleep at an inn, talk to people in the town and get funny one-lines, hints on what to do next, look for hidden treasures, play card games against the locals, and explore to see the sights? Well, all of that is gone. Sure, some people will say that it doesn't matter, or it doesn't bother them that much. But in our opinion, people that state that never took the time out of their day to realize just how important that is.

The soundtrack is personal opinion only. You either like it, or you don't. We, however, think it's average. Nothing really sticks out, but it isn't bad. :mokken:

We could go on for days. However, to end it where it's at, we're just going to say that we don't like this new FF. It feels like the death of an Era. Sure, this may be a new era of FF, but it's a bandwagon we're not jumping on. Hopefully, future titles will earn our respect. Until then though, we're not going to be playing anymore FF titles. :mokken:

Really? I've never heard that before. I've never heard of a developer named Soft before. I thought the only merging the company ever had was with Enix.

Though Wikipedia isn't fully accurate, it does say that Square only adopted the name Squaresoft as a brand name from 1992 to 2003 when it merged. That's what I've known Squaresoft as. :hmmm:

People have the right to pre judge all they want. If they say it's going to suck and don't play the game when it comes out and they turn out to be wrong, that is their loss, not yours. Going with your gut is key to anything. If you buy it and don't like it, then that's just another disappointed. Peoples opinions tend to be wrong or right so you never know what the game's really about...

Why should you care what other people do anyway. Like I said before, it's their loss not yours!

I'm certainly not complaining about it, it looks pretty epic if you ask me, of course it isn't going to be perfect, every thing has it's flaws and things that it lacks, but the gameplay itself is going to be excellent, and I can hardly wait for it. :awesome:

It is just the general nature of mankind to complain about things and whine, but I try to do as little of that as I can, there is plenty to look forward to about Final Fantasy XIII. :monster:
