Storyline

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town-a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes... Written by Universal Pictures

from what i've seen and heard so far, i'm not expecting anything of the standard of shaun of the dead and hot fuzz but i'll still definitely see it.
edgar wright has bigger experience now after working on scott pilgrim, so that may have helped him, but i think it'll more likely have hindered him. hopefully he doesn't pander to the hollywood audience and keeps his style from the first two.

Saw this trailer when I saw the last Harry Potter film and Gulliver's Travels. It's not bad. I haven't seen Hot Fuzz or any of their previous works, but I think I'll give this a chance. It looks decent and since it's from those two, I'll see it.

I havent seen Hot Fuzz, might DL it soon. I liked Shaun of the Dead because everything with zombies in it is probably ace in my book.

I really laughed at the end of this trailer when the Alien helps that bird. :giggle:

i was quite surprised at how good it was. it's definitely the weaker of the three, but still a good and funny film. i loved the cameos by jeffrey tambor and sigourney weaver. jason bateman's character was also great.

i'd say it's a must-see for any sci-fi fans, because it's flooded with star wars and back to the future references. the best bit for me was zoil's conversation ender of "... boring conversation anyway."

It was a pretty good film. Had lots of laughs in the cinema and there are so many sci-fi references. I just loved the fact everyone thought they were both gay the whole time. I'd definitely recommend this!
