Tetsuya Nomura shared some of Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show plans via The 3rd Birthday Twitter earlier today.

The producer is apparently right in the middle of preparations for next month's show. Yesterday, he was in the studio working on promotional videos. He's still only partially finished with this work. Based off Nomura's comments, it looks like Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show video setup will be similar to last year's Jump Festa. At Jump, Square Enix had an open theater, viewable by anyone who passed by the booth. It also had monitors set up in the main line to play Birth By Sleep, which was closed off from general viewing. Those waiting in line were able to see new glimpses of Versus XIII and other titles. This is slightly different from last year's Tokyo Game Show setup, which had demo players view the exclusive trailer footage after they'd played the games rather than before.

The promotional videos shown in the open theater and on the closed off line monitors will be very similar, Nomura said. However, the line trailers will have extended footage, showing areas of the games that go beyond even areas that have been announced to the press.

Nomura also mentioned what titles will be getting PVs this year. We'll get to see Re:Coded, The 3rd Birthday, along with Nomura's next unannounced title. Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Agito XIII are being condensed into a single "short notice" under the Fabula Nova Crystallis banner.

Before you start burning your copies of Final Fantasy XIII, it's worth noting that prior to last year's TGS, Nomura hinted that there wouldn't be any Versus XIII footage, and we ended up getting a first look at some impressive real time test footage. Also, in the above PV description, it's unclear if Nomura is speaking about the open theater theater or the PVs that are being shown in lines. Perhaps those who line up will get a longer look at Versus and Agito.

On the topic of playable games, Nomura said once again that Square Enix will share its plans in September. TGS kicks off on the 16th.

So finally a glimpse of one of his unannounced games, eh? :hmmm:

I just hope it's not a mobile game. I'm inclined to think it's gonna be a hand held though.

To be honest, I'm not even bothered about TGS'10 in the slightest any more. I think the truth of the matter is that Square-Enix simply cannot rival major western developers, I can't think of another company that's sitting on such a gold mine yet can't see it. Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII, Kingdom Hearts 3, a new Chrono game, Final Fantasy VII [I don't conform to the idea, but the profit is unthinkable]. Yet all of these have been ignored or delayed because of all the other crap they're churning out that very few people have an interest in.

They care more for the profit than quality and what fans want. Gone are the days people will buy a Square-Enix game simply because it has their name on it.

So what he's basically saying is: "Yes, Versus and Agito WILL be on show, but we are doing our best to make you see as little of those games as much as possible despite the fact that you've been waiting for them for years."

Seriously, if they just lay off the more obscure projects that no one gives a shit about, maybe they can accelerate the development of the other two FFXIII games. Re:Coded and this unannounced title - I doubt that they're anything wanted by the fans at all. It just sounds like they have a yearly quota of game releases to push through while failing to take much precedence in the games they announced way back in 2006.

FF Versus XIII, Agito XIII getting brief showings at TGS

There. Happy now? Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has tweeted that new looks of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be at TGS next month. But not much.

Nomura, Versus XIII’s director, confirmed that both games will get combined into a brief, last-minute trailer, although it’s unknown if it will be shown openly or at Square’s infamous “Mega Closed Theatre”.
Nomura also confirmed The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded will be at the show.
TGS takes place from September 16-19

I read on Andriasang that apparently:

a) It won't be part of an open theatre.
b) It'll be about a minute long.
c) The Versus footage will be missing "command" menus.

Brilliant.

That is total shit. Nobodys wants GUN or whatever they are working on now. All We want is the next 2 entries in the XIII series. Also 1 minute long? After waiting a year? It better be one fricking good minute :rage:

So its one minute footage AND CLosed Theater,, thus we'll end up seeing a cam version (eventually)
great fucking great....this is so pissing me off......

wait they did it before , closed theater but the footage has never been leaked right? I never seen it till this day.. sigh

I swear, if they announce Versus XIII for the 360 at the TGS, Ill be pissed because regardless of what they say, that will be the reason why it's taking FOREVER to come out.

Well I'm glad it's there.........but they've made me more pissed off by almost showing us so little of verus even in TGS.........(if it's in the closed theatre I'd be more pissed off)

This time next year we prbably expect this game to have a release date...........and them not showing us shit on the battle system...........hmmm might be even longer til the game 2012?6 years after announcing it.........

and I've got nothing against with them releasing games for the 360..........but if they do and it takes even longer for this game to get released..........it's gonna piss me off a whole lot more.

P.S does anyone think one of these unannouced titles could be an FF?
or is it likely to be some other bullshit?

Why oh why must history repeat itself? Square Enix is a bit too big for its britches, isn't it? Constantly rolling out sequels and spin offs that no one cares about. It's inevitably going to run itself into the ground if it continues. Especially with Kingdom Hearts. Seriously. Do we need 6 spin offs in between II and III? Really?

And with Versus XIII, I'm just cautiously optimistic. Very, very cautiously. But, like Mercurial said, it's obvious that Square Enix does not understand what their fans want AT ALL. Someone, anyone, needs to smack them across the face. Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kingdom Hearts III, Versus XIII, Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest X...They have the potential to make SO much money and make MANY fans extremely happy...and they're botching it.

Because Square Enix is putting its name on just about every project nowadays, how can we trust them? How can anyone trust a developer like that? They remind me of Activision, bunch of bastards. This is all just a bunch of shit. They don't even care anymore. It's all business and no heart.
