Forums Staff: Forum staff are appointed to work on reporting news, designing, and programming. They will only be chosen by administrators.

Note: Being a part of forums staff does NOT give you any modding capabilites.

Moderators: A moderator must show good judgment and maturity levels. While they are not perfect, they volunteer their time to moderate forums and make sure that the forum rules are being followed. A good moderator should have knowledge of the forum rules so that they know which posts violate the rules and which ones don't, and should know about whether a thread should be moved, closed, merged or split, etc. Moderators should also remain active.

Moderators are usually appointed by those who are already on staff. Moderators are usually members who show themselves capable of being mods. While nobody is perfect, most mods manage to behave themselves 90% of the time. You have to have good knowledge of the rules, so you'll be able to point out offenses. You'll have to have good knowledge of the forum, so you'll know which threads need moved/closed/merged/split. Also, you have to remain active.

Note that it is not a good idea to ask for a moderator or forums staff position. We will choose moderators or forums staff accordingly as we see fit; you do not need to point to us and shout about it, because we can see for ourselves. In fact, asking to become a forums staff or moderator will actually decrease your chances of becoming one.
