So hey

This is sorta a hard hitting intro so apologies in advance

I've loved FF since about 7/8 years old when I first watched my uncles play Final Fantasy 8 (it wasn't until a few years on that I managed to get a hold of my first FF game (IX) ) So christ that's 20odd years.

But yeah the series helped me through a patch of bullying when I was young and it just so happens that i'm going through a spate of depression at the moment so i'm turning back to the series (my partner and I lost our first born at a month old just over a year ago, sadly I still haven't fully gotten over it despite the fact we have had a second child since). It's just a wonderful way to get away isn't it ^_^

Anyway's yeah I'm sat here listening to a piano album on amazon music of FF tracks, they are a delight.

But yeah, as I'm a bit of a loner and have no friends I thought I'd reach out online and see if there are people I can chat to, came across here so hey

Despite all that I'm generally a happy chappy so hopefully I'll stick around!

Any fan of Final Fantasy is a welcome friend here! :)

I listen to the Piano Collections a lot too, I think VIII's is by far the best! Currently listening to Final Fantasy X's OST :)

Sorry to hear of your recent troubles, while video games can be seen as a diversion I also believe when creators put effort in they can be genuinely inspiring :) I've been struggling with my art for years now, but finding that in working on various Fan Art ideas I have the means and lack of pressure to get immersed and enjoy myself more :)

What FF's do you consider to be your favourite? We all have FF opinions and none a wrong but I love hearing what people think of the series and always up for FF chat :)

No apologies necessary here. Welcome, Luseth. =] How did you find us?! I've always been curious about new members joining and how they stumbled across our site.

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation... I understand why you would need to get away from it all from time to time. You're more than welcome to join us in on the discussion about any topic, really.

Which FF tracks do you like so far? I've always been particularly fond of 'To Zanarkand' (FFX), 'You're Not Alone' (FFIX) and recently this year, 'Chaos Shrine' (FFI), 'Crimson Sunrise / Sunset' (FFXIV Stormblood). I could go on and on with a huge list though. There's something about Final Fantasy music that really soothes the soul. I hope that you find a bit of peace at least, even for a few moments throughout the days.

I'll see you around then!

FFIX is my favourite very closely followed by X.

I have a fondness for IX with it being the first I played but I had a connection to the idea of wanting to belong that you could see quite evidently in the story, it felt much more magical, a nod to the series roots. It probably has some of the best story telling in a game and the writing was actually really good.

I've always enjoyed the old style turn based combat which is something I've missed with recent games (in fact I still haven't completed any of the XIII games as of today, though I have recently bought and installed on my pc with the intention of finally playing through them!

Ah everyone's come on to reply at the same time!

A quick google search and this site came top for 'final fantasy forums', literally as simple as that :)

Zanarkand is up there but I do really enjoy Terra's theme (FFVI) though and Aerith's theme from FFVII

Thank you both :)

Oh brilliant choices, even though IX is my favourite (Although VII & VIII certainly have their days on top :P). I don't typically like olde' fantasy settings but IX's stuffed with so much charm, brilliant characters and a fun world to explore I have to adore it so! I still feel X is the best representation of the series, it just excels in every aspect.

Many belittle XIII, while I have mixed feelings about the series as a whole (more so with LR brining the standard down) be sure to check them out and see what you think of them - Personally find XIII's battle system to be the most engaging in the series with swift Paradigm Shifts & the Stagger function.

Hey and welcome! I started playing FF around that age too, glad you chose FFIX to start with :D /bias

I used FF/Games in general to get through a lot as a younger girl as well, and I do find myself going to games as a bit of solace when things are a bit rough. I'm sorry about your circumstances and I hope you find what you're looking for as you fight through your depression, I can't even imagine the battle is easy.

I've joined earlier this year for a bit of the same reason - and I've really taken a liking to this place! I hope you do too! Feel free to chat anyone up even if it's just to talk about nonsense, everyone has been mostly ( :tehe: ) really nice :)

Hope to see you around! Pleasedon'tleave

There was like 1 reply when I started this. :tearjoy:

Mostly?! What did I do? :(

Watch out for her @Luseth. She'll chat you up like crazy about Pokemon stuff - things I don't understand.

You sing a person the intro to Pokemon ONCE and you never live it down! Don't worry about harassing other people @Luseth , you have to worry about them harassing you!

:xP:

Welcome to the forum, Luseth!

Looks like you've started to make some friends already, which is quick work!

I can't begin to imagine the emptiness you must feel with your situation, but I truly believe that looking into a community of like-minded individuals and introducing yourself in a sincere manner like this can be a brave and positive step.

It isn't a dramatic overstatement for me to say that this forum changed my life. Not immediately, but over time it most certainly did. FFF gave me more friends which I hope to keep forever, and in recent years thanks to the opportunities presented by one of our affiliates (KupoCon, a Final Fantasy fan gathering like no other) I've had the pleasure of meeting FFF members in real life as well as other FF community members and numerous FF actors/stars and so on.

None of that would have happened for me if I hadn't, like you, searched for 'Final Fantasy forum' and clicked on the first link I found and discovered this place.

So I hope you like us and stick around. If you need a hand with anything, ask any of us. If you have any feedback about the site and its features, tell us, and we'll consider things.

But most importantly, welcome to the FFF family. :argor:
