My Username...?

Why don't you change your name to "The Sephiroth Genes"?

Why "The REAL Riku"? Seriously your current name is better than "The REAL Riku"...

You can, though ask nicely the current Riku to give you back your name...though I highly doubt it.

lol, that would just ruin everything for this kid i think, he seems pretty dignified about being the real riku, not rikku ^_^

I was wondering if I could have my username back please..?

I'm just wondering of course, because on ever forum I register on, my name is Riku.

There are millions of other forums out there and I'm sure millions of people who have the name Riku. Your name isn't going to be changed to Riku because you want that name. There are millions of other people who want a particular user name/email take is taken. Tough luck.

M'hmm, you'll just have to make do with it. I suggest you just think of another name...there's far more unique names than Riku. (Sorry Dave :P)

Annnnd, there's the username change problem at the moment, so either way, you won't be getting any name change anytime soon. =/

Apparently I have some crimes to answer for :wacky:
I understand where you are coming from, but you have to understand my position as well.

I feel as if my dignity has been snatched away from my very hands.

~Riku
Steady on there, lad xD

...regardless, those rules were implemented recently. This happened about a year ago. You probably won't get your name back. Just think of another one, not hard.

And, instead of making a thread it would have been better to PM Riku himself...
My thoughts, exactly.

Right, instead of you all speculating, I'll tell you exactly what happened. As you all (should) know, my old username was The Sephiroth Gene. Like a lot of fans of VII, I grew tired of Sephiroth and, despite the originality of that name, I grew tired of that too. So, I sought out a different name, one to suit my current obsession at that time which was, of course, Riku. I did ask for my name to be changed to Riku but, unfortunately, it was already taken.

I inspected said users profile, whom I believe to be yourself :-)wacky:). You had made a total of 1 posts in around six months and had last been active five minutes after that single post and so I thought it was safe to say that you weren't interested in the forums. Now, listen carefully:

I asked Darkblade, the site owner at that time, if I could change my name to Riku and edit your name to something else, which wouldn't conflict with any other username. He approved.

I was actually a Global Moderator at that time and so the notification that you should have received WAS actually written by me. I haven't changed my name since around November 2006 ;)

Granted, you now have like, 11 posts, but most of them have been tallied up in this thread, if not all of them xD

The bottom line is that I asked permission from the site owner and permission was granted. I doubt that I'll have to "give it back" to you because you can hardly say that you're a dedicated and active forum member. I apologise for taking away your name but, as the saying goes, you snooze you lose xD

I'm aware that i'm not getting my name back.

I just thought i'd cause a ruckus because I thought it would be pretty cool.

~Riku

And sorry about the ~Riku, it's a habit. I usually sign all my posts with ~Riku.

... so it's doubtful Riku's feeling generous enough to give his username over. If you want to actually bother requesting a new name, use the corresponding thread.

Might as well close this now.
