FOREWARNING: SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD

In this corner, we have the amazing Nana-chan. She cooks, she cleans and she sings! She loves Junes and has a smile and sense innocence that could melt the coldest of hearts. :neomon:

Annnnd in this corner we have the young, sexy, and beautiful Aeris/th Gainsborough. She's grown up in the Sector 7 Slums of Midgar, where she rigs her roof to meet men with absolutely amazing hair.

Her death was a shock to us all, and many of us cried.

Nanako... Man, that made me shed a manly tear. :mokken: I've got a heart, it's frozen, covered in ice, and buried, but that fateful moment made it beat for a few seconds. :mokken:

she is an incredible character :elmo:

best stage in the game besides magatsu inaba too :gmonster:

I personally find Nanako muuuuch more tragic as a character. She was explored on a much deeper level mentally through the Social Link system while Aerith as a character was not explored in quite as much depth. It didn't help that Aerith is still shown to be conscious and together in the Lifestream, which kinda took away from the tragic nature of the end of FF Disc 1.

However, if you get the bad ending in Persona 4...hoo boy. Even the good ending isn't great at first because either way, a seven year old girl dies pretty brutally, calling out for her "big bro" and her father. Much sadder imo.

Nanako. A thousand times Nanako. *headdesk*

Let me make one thing clear: Video games don't make me cry.

They have only made me cry 3 times in my 14 years of being a dedicated gamer. THREE TIMES IN FOURTEEN YEARS.

First time ever was FFVIII, the ending sequence. Then, years later, came Fatal Frame 3 that just moved me a lot. And then...

...then was Persona 4 and Nanako. I didn't just cry, I BLUBBED SO BADLY I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT.

And that's just when I first saw her get sick, and then got the GOOD ending. When I replayed and got the bad ending it was worse. That little sugarcube didn't just mutilate my heartstrings...she ripped them out D:

When I first played FFVII, I never liked Aerith that much. She felt too...well, sickly-sweet for my tastes. Or maybe her way of acting just ticked me off, I still don't know. I never hated her, she just didn't engage me that much. And I have to admit...her manner of death just actually...made me laugh.

Yeah, I...I have no soul, I guess, but Nanako found it and hit it with a sledgehammer.
