Well one thing I like you're doing now I focusing more and more on one focal point. With a lot of beginners(myself included), first mistakes I made was using too many different focals.

The Balthier one is definitely your best so far, really clear picture and a good base background. Which is what a beginner should learn. As long as you continue to enhance background features and focal points, you'll branch in effects like C4Ds, distorting, pen tooling, etc.

I think what you should practice more is on your focal points, what's the main picture of your signature. Whatever it may be you want that to be the eye catching part. Around that you want to add stunning effects and what not to bring attention to it. Your coloring is vastly improving as well, just try not to rush too many techniques at once, you want these techniques to sink into your brain.

Once you get a good amount of quality C4Ds(If you need some I'll see if I can't upload mine so you can use them), tell me and I'll jump on making a good tutorial on how to use them. I think I might make you a smudge or pen tool tutorial before that though, we'll see what your strong points are weak ones are.

Really cool sigs though Suki , I sucked on ice when I was a beginner.

xD Thank you! I've learned so much from you, so much thanks is needed. I'll definitely keep that in mind. I now realize that focal points is important, yes, but I also wanna try different work as well...you know, just to experiment what Photoshop has to offer. So once in awhile I'll do something out of the ordinary.

Your work is excellent for a beginner. At least you don't shove millions of gaudy effects and slap unmatching stocks on top of them like most novices do.

The Balthier sig is awesome.
The Rydia sig is good, but shoving the main text into a corner is a big no-no.

Aha, I know what you mean now by the Rydia text in the corner. I'm trying to practice more on text and its effects and location, and so far, I'm honestly not sure if I'm getting it or what. =/

Here's a new one I've been working on for the past few days and finally finished it last night. I was experimenting with the text, but I'm not sure if that works. Um, I know it's "girly" and all that, but meh. I kinda like it. I believe that's Lightning when she was younger. I was searching for FFXIII pictures and that came up.

This one is just another version of Balthier. Fixed the edgy fingers and added a few effects in the background...I don't know, I think I like the original version better, although his forefinger here looks much better.

Yoshi...he's a cute character. I like this one too. It's supposed to look like he's about to go up that narrow way there.

The first one's text is okay. Not the best, but okay.
The Yoshi one is great; you're really creative.
You should seriously open up a shop.

I think all you need is to darken the text slightly on the first sig slightly, but I wouldn't be too worried about that to be honest, the text/font is the hardest part of making a sig, but the blending/lighting of the sig is amazing :wink:

The second and third sigs are stunning, you have picked nice clear, sharp renders for the sigs and have blended them fantastically well. Just add a few brushes here and there...possibly clipping masks and you are sorted.

Can definitely see you've improved, keep up the amazing work.

Yes, text is indeed the hardest part, and it takes quite some time to make it fit a signature. Usually, the presence of a text is somewhat unnecessary, but it sure marks a difference. The problem with text is that if we make it stand out too much, it will derail all the attention to the text itself, and we don't want to do that.

Anigraphuse (Shahab), advised me some time ago (thanks Shahab), that the easiest way was to begin with text with simple style such as Verdana or Times new roman, and an adequate font size depending on the signature size. Also if you want, you can add a layer over the text and reduce visibility as desired. If you want fading test, just duplicate the text laywer, smudge the second one to create a fog like effect, reduce the visibility of both layers.

I still can't seem to get my text right, so I think I'm gonna try to avoid that for now until I can find a decent tutorial for it. To be honest, Light, I'm quite afraid to start my own sig shop. >.> Some members are so picky with how they want their sigs, colors, placement, etc...it's kinda overwhelming. I'm still studying how you guys do it, so give it a few more weeks, and I'll set my shop along with you all. =]

I haven't updated for awhile, but here's one that I did a few weeks ago:

That one's icky, definitely not my best. I wanted that glass-shattering effect, but failed the process. Ah well, it was a try.

I just did this one an hour ago (scene from Resident Evil 5) and I quite like it. Trying to work with colors overall now and exploring more with gradient layers.

I made a few more, but I'll post those next week when SotW 40's over. =]

You could always join the sig shop DC and I opened recently

I like this one. It's creative. The only thing I have to complain about are the black thingies (lol xD) on the left and right sides.. they're disturbing the tag, but they're probably easy to remove with a few plain brushes that are the colors of the scenery around it.

I dunno what I was trying to achieve here, really. I quite like the tilt of the canvas, so I stuck with that style, although I know the color is very dull and lacking. But I had to try something different and came up with that.

Nemesis

An edited version from what I originally entered in SotW 40. I tried to bring out the stock more, but I really just wanna leave it at that now. Still no big improvement, and at first I liked it, but now I'm not so sure.

It was supposed to be entered in SotW 41 but er, I guess there was a slight communication, and so I didn't get to enter mine. No biggie though, nothing special or anything. I made two versions.

The nemisis is really nasty. What is it even doing? Going out of some kind of mud or something? It's really stupid if you ask me lol. Not the sig but Nemesis.

The Soren is really cool. Has good graphics, and I like the style. It's cool on how it looks like there is words in it.

Duffy looks great, although the text in the Wesker sigs is somewhat odd.

For that second tag, I definitely prefer the last version. The last version has all of that swirly stuff cut out, which, in the previous versions, was really imbalancing the flow of the tag. In the previous versions, the prominent swirl brushes were leading my eyes in different directions, which generally made it unappealing.
