Exactly as the title says..

Were you fond of the missions or did they get a tad bit wearing on you sometimes?

For me it was a struggle in Hard difficulty. The difference from easy to hard was a pain in my neck. As I went into hard I never actually completed 100% of the missions. In easy though I was able to complete all the missions.. here are the reasons why it weared on me just a bit.

1) The main storyline does not give you enough exp to make those "very hard" missions rank down to hard or even medium. So the monsters would hit you for incredible amounts of damage at a time.

2) When going all out on missions, some materia such as "fist" type (expends your ap in order to do attacks for 99999) get resisted, and plus they are single attacks unless 2 or more are standing next to or behind the enemy you are hitting.

3) Repetitive Environments: You either go to the slums, shinra building, the outdoors, or the cave looking place.

I had alot of difficulty due to the fact I didn't have the "super ribbon" as I call it. Everything would eventually either cast flare/ultima or some materia which would pratically bring me down to my knees crying.

So it's a mater of opinion, but I want to hear what you folks thought about it.

I got bored of the missions fast, there were too many. as you say thery were too repetetive and there were just too MANY D:

I spent a ridiculous amount of time on them, it was getting to the point where I never wanted to look at the game again. 300 was abit extreme imo and I was at my wits end in the last lot of missions when I just kept dying >_>

So I loathd them with passion. I don't plan on EVER doing them ever again

It's tedious.

At first, you think and say to yourself "Oh, I'm going to do everyone of them and get everything so I can do the really hard stuff for bragging rights"

Then, after a few in-game chapters later, you go: "Oh screw this..."

Does anyone feel that way like I do?

I'm actually enjoying them... That might sound sad, but I find them oddly fun. Though most of the time I find myself doing them because I'm frustrated at something and the missions are so familiar now that I can do them pretty much without thinking too much (I'm not THAT far into the game yet :gasp:)

So... I like em.

So far that is. :stare:

I enjoyed them but many of them were pointless and stupid. For example there are some missions about some orphans that escaped but you are fighting machines.Wtf?

They were pointless and stupid, yes, but man, when I got real bored, I did them. All in all, they weren't too bad. I guess I'll be the oddball that says I enjoyed them lol

I really liked them at first, but they eventually got too repetitive for me. The fact that there were only a few maps and that all missions involved fighting your way through somewhere to kill something, really bugged me. There were far too many missions too.

I really enjoyed some of them though. The ones where Hojo would ask you to fight a monster he made were pretty fun, I particularly liked the ones where you had to fight a clone of Sephiroth and a clone of yourself. But yeah, the missions eventually got repetitive and down right boring for me.

The game is too short, so the missions enjoys me. Yes there are many missions which get boring after a while but I still like them gives me something to do, except when they can inflict death I would go all mad. :gasp: overall I think they are pretty good and they give me a challenge, so I love them. :monster:

Ugh...there are 400 or so, aren't there? It wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many that had the same basic objective of running from one end to the other, fighting the same enemies over and over, getting to the "boss" of that mission and it turning out to be easier than the journey there. I hate how they needed at least 6 sets of 6 to count as one category of missions (e.g. Zack the Materia Hunter). I'd have been happier if that was all condensed into 5 missions at the most with simply more rewards to be found in the area.

Not looking forward to completing the next 80% or so I've sworn to do. xD

There are 300 Dave, you can make them slightly more bearable by hugging the walls so you can avoid the random encounters, of course you are mising out on levvelling etc there, but once you get to the point where you have serioously had enough, that little trick is a godsend

Especially if you are on a level you keep getting humilated on <_<

DAMN MOVERS :gasp:

I think what's starting to annoy me about them now is the fact the ones I have unlocked just aren't challenging enough. Even the ones that are Hard difficulty I'm walking through relatively unscathed. :gasp: And please, gimme SOME DIFFERENT enemies to face. I'm getting sick of the five or so beasts I keep coming up against. e.x;

And because I just can't help it, the missions are probably taking me a hell of a lot longer than they should because I search EVERYWHERE. x.x Though this helped me get Cait Sith's Megaphone to add him to the DMV before Kei :monster: Though I missed the Moogle Amulet. :stare: Why hide these things, the little bastards :gasp: MAKING me have to look everywhere. And I'm not hugging walls. The more 'experience' the better :gasp: Though I'm sure the moment will come soon when I get more missions and I just wanna put the PSP through the wall <_<

I had a few potential PSP shaped holes in my windows, have you skirted round teh 'bos' enemies, to explore the areas behind them, you can only find and start the cactuar (I think its catuar) missions that way, and also obtian afew items that way too, and its all the more irritating, because you can hug the wall if the boss is in close proximity BUT STIL INITIATE A FIGHT, meaning you have to go allll the way through the mission again, just to fully explore the area behind.

I have the guide, that is how lazy I am when it came to searching chests in those missions, I didn't want to spend lomger than I had to in them. HAving the guide will probably depress the cheeriest of people though. There is page after pafge after page of just MISSIONS

I automatically skirt the boss if there's any space around them on the map. I also take the routes I don't expect the boss to be at the end of first to get the crap down that way, and I'm always right. These missions are so predictable. xDDD

I want to find that damn cactuar, and whatever the other one is. I have teh Tonberry missions opened. XD I'm just annoyed with the infiltration mission in the main game so I've put it down. -__- Stupid non-mission mission.

I'm enjoying them still... But damnit, I want something more exciting plox.

Cactuar's behind a Genesis copy in one of the really early Genesis missions, you have to REALLY hug the wall tight and turn left before getting him. It's in a desert setting and the "boss" is identical to Genesis but weaker (the one with the gun you fight with Cissnei).

Anyway, I'm about 33% through the missions now, I'm just soldiering on through them and leaving anything of a "normal" difficulty or higher to the very end (basically I beat all of the Very Easy/Easy missions then go back to the story). I'm still having a levelling-up issue, though. <_<

If I have to fight ONE MORE Vajradahrahaahahahahaha from Wutai, I think I'll join the "PSP-shaped hole" club. xD

Cheers Dave, I'll look into that later then. I really wanna get them as early as I can. xDDD I think I know which one you mean, I remember doing it not too long ago actually, so I should be able to find it.

.... Ok just did it whilst writing this post xDDD That was so easy, how on earth did I manage to miss it the first time. :| Now just that other one to find. Now I've turned it back on I'mma have to play again. Damn you Dave XDDDD

21% and counting :gasp:

I like the missions overall, but the lack of map variations really does hurt it. Still, I enjoy some of the extra story and whatnot.

FUCKING SHITTING FUCKING BASTARDING CUNTS

Doing the missions for Wutai and I'm fighting that Elite 5 bunch in the caves, the ones you fight one-by-one? I waste no less than THREE phoenix downs on those absolute WANKERS and the very last one puts an END to my roll by using "death missiles", which leads me to my second rant.

HOW do you block against death, it's not as though there's a percentage chance of it hitting...it just ALWAYS hits and ALWAYS causes hours of frustration.

...I'm only 38% done, too. -__-

I liked the fact that you could fight Bahamut :D
I really hated the repetitive environments and how they had unoriginal names. I did like the difficulty, after beating all the missions the actually story part of the game was too easy. But Hard mode fixed that. All in all I liked the missions they just needed more areas.

I really liked them.....until they started to utterly destroy me. I can't for the life of me figure out how to not get hit by the 'death' spell. I just hit a point where all the missions I havn't completed that are unlocked have those stupid little wasp things that cast death...and then I realized I didn't care enough to play the same mission over and over 5 times

Have a look for a mission that drops a safety bit, or one that has one in a chest - hugging the walls if necesary to get said chest. I hit a wall for ages getting done over by those STUPID death spells. It made the missions all the more tedious because I just kept DYING , ugh -_-
